During language acquisition children generalise at multiple layers of granularity. Ambridge argues that abstraction-based accounts suffer from lumping (over-general abstractions) or splitting (over-precise abstractions). Ambridge argues that the only way to overcome this conundrum is in a purely exemplar/analogy-based system in which generalisations are based on similarity to individual exemplars. However, to move our understanding forward, radical exemplar theory must include clearly specified mechanisms for analogy and similarity computation, and must account for changes in children’s genera

Benjamin DeSpain has taken issue with my claim that the divine ideas according to Aquinas’s conception cannot be the objects of our moral striving, nor can they be approximated by us. I argue that he has not attended to a necessary distinction between the divine essence as single exemplar and the ideas as multiple exemplars of the varied imitability of that essence. The result is that Macrobius’s “exemplar virtues” are the divine essence; they are not divine ideas, nor are they eternal law. Approximation to these virtues is possible, but not to the ideas. From a logical perspective, the translator needs to perform two main functions, i.e., feature extraction and style transfer. Researchers have shown that it is possible to increase the variety of play behaviors that children with autism engage in. Abstract:
Although the atlas of the geared kinematic chains (GKCs) had been enumerated decades ago, few studies had focused on how these synthesized GKCs can be applied according to the kinematic requirements of geared mechanisms in practice. In this paper, the kinematic behaviors of one-DOF, single-output geared mechanisms of up to six links are analyzed based on the concept of kinematic fractionation and the formulas of global gains are established. Classification of the geared mechanisms is obtained according to the gain types, ordinary, subtractive, fractional and composite. A set of rules for the a
