The Long Valley Volcanic Field is best known for the paroxysmal 0.76 Ma Bishop Tuff caldera-forming eruption. The understanding of multiphase flow properties is essential for the exploitation of hydrocarbon reserves in a reservoir; these properties in turn are dependent on the geometric properties and connectivity of the pore space. A major challenge to the accurate evaluation of these reservoirs is accounting for pore scale heterogeneity on multiple scales. This is the topic of this thesis. Conventiona

Many studies found that the fitness-for-use of these reservoirs for both net cage culture of fish and irrigation of crops is feasible. However, practising intensive fish farming in existing open water bodies can increase the nutrient levels of the water through organic loading, originating from uneaten feeds and fish metabolic wastes. 碩士
國立中央大學
土木工程學系碩士在職專班
90
This study emphasizes on the joint policy for a multiple reservoir system of over-basined diversion. The system, consisting of Pou-Shan Reservoir and Pou-Shan Ⅱ Reservoir in Tou-Chan Stream Basin, is employed as a case study. Based on the inflow data from the past 30 years and predicted demand for the year 2020, we build reservoir simulation model, and then apply Genetic Algorithms (GAs) to optimize the rule curve and the discount of releases for reservoir system. The releases between reservoirs are based on the rule curve of each reservoir and the princi

Abstract:
Various analytical, semi-analytical, and empirical models have been proposed to characterize rate and pressure behavior as a function of time in tight/shale gas systems featuring a horizontal well with multiple hydraulic fractures. Despite a small number of analytical models and published numerical studies there is currently little consensus regarding the large-scale flow behavior over time in such systems. The purpose of this work is to construct a fit-for-purpose numerical simulator which will account for a variety of production features pertinent to these systems, and to use this model to

碩士
國立交通大學
土木工程系所
104
Typhoon is one of the major natural disasters in Taiwan. Flood damage comes along and should be prioritized in prevention. Although the reservoir is designed to reduce the flood peak, appropriate operations should be performed to achieve the goal. In this study, our goal is to develop an optimal real-time reservoir operation model during typhoon period which can not only optimize the benefit of power generation, but also reduce downstream flood disaster and maximize water storage of reservoir. This model can be used to set the auxiliary operating strategies dur

Abstract:
The Bow River Basin in Southern Alberta is a semi-arid catchment, with surface water provided from the Rocky Mountains. Water resources in this basin, primarily surface water, are allocated to a variety of users- industry, municipalities, agriculture, energy and needs for the environment. The largest consumptive use is by agriculture (80%), and several large dams at the headwaters provide for over 800,000 MWhrs of hydropower. This water is managed by the 1990 Water Act, distributing water via licenses following the “first in time first in right” principle. Currently, the basin is over-allocate
