Herbert Smenner was one of the most prolific architects in the east central Indiana area from 1920 up until his death in 1950. Drinking water is a potential means for transmission of the opportunistic pathogen Legionella pneumophila. The objective of this research was to document the occurrence of L. pneumophila from source water, partially treated water after conventional water treatment, and distribution water.
