Full textThe important use of antibiotics is becoming a cause of the emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) organisms which is threat to public health. More mechanisms are involving but the major one is the multidrug efflux system. The pump of active efflux can be divided into two families: the membrane protein that extrudes drugs by using proton-motive force (a H+ anti-drug antiporter) or Na+ ions, like TetK or NorA proteins in Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and the ABC transporters (ATP-Binding Cassette) with energy derived from the hydrolysis of ATP, like YvcC and LmrA proteins in Escherichia Coli C41 (DE3). The phytochemistrical and biological studies realized on Ligusticum porteri and Mirabilis jalapa mainly, after a screening in vitro of crude extracts in several plants of the family Apiaceae, Nyctaginaceae, Scrophulariaceae and Solanaceae in order to find a modulator activity of leader anti-oxydant, huile essentielle, phtalides, terpénoi͏̈des, polyphénols

Full textThis work is done in the framework of the ECOLEADER program - European consortium of laboratories for earthquake and dynamic experimental research - to improve our knowledge on the vulnerability of reinforced concrete structural walls submitted to seismic loadings. A modelling strategy based on Euler - Bernoulli or Timoshenko multifiber beams is presented. Constitutive laws are based on plasticity for steel and damage mechanics for concrete. This simplified model permits to reproduce the global behaviour of reinforced concrete structures under dynamic loading. Critical zones and damage distributions are also correctly predicted. Non linear dynamic calculations are the only ones able to simulate the variation of the axial force and thus they are a necessary tool for the design and conception of new buildings

Full textWith the prospect to achieve the European single market, liberalization of various sectors in Europe including transport in the 1990s decade, leads to the development of different means of transport and the increase of road transport activities, certainly with real benefits such as economic development, competitiveness and employment; but also serious drawbacks : congestion of highways and increase in C02 emissions. Encouraging intermodality and promote the development of road alternatives, adjusting the balance between means of transport, is considered as one of European Union key priorities. Under the auspices of 2001 White Paper European transport policy, Motorways of the Sea concept were insufficiently informed, and currently, looking for his own way. Nevertheless they do present essential characteristics: both transport infrastructures and services, Shipping line services which are regular, frequent and of good quality , inbound to two or more sea ports to at least two states member of European Union. From the new European transport policy, they meet the requirements : road safety, sustainable development, safe environment, promoting growth in European Union internal market. However, the absence of an initial legal status applicable to the Motorways of the Sea has a real impact on the emergence of this concept, which evolves by adapting to new constraints, raising many challenges. The current mixed picture of Motorways of the Sea in Europe raises questions about the prospects for their sustainability. Our focus is directed towards two key legal aspects. On one hand the real impact of the absence of an initial legal status on the emergence of motorways of the sea and the funding mechanisms that accompany it. On the other hand, the determination of legal framework favourable to the development of Motorways of the sea which will contribute to a better integration into the global Supply Chain and emerge as truly sustainable alternative, credible and effective to the integral road transport

Full textPorto Alegre, a city that grew out of a port and developed in close relationship with the browsing activities, had turned its edge over the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries by those activities, which left under layers of landfill, concrete and current city asphalt, material traces that witness the everyday aspects of a port town that no longer exists. This dissertation focuses on the study of the constitution and the transformations undergone by the port area of the city of Porto Alegre eighteenth century to the mid nineteenth century. The study seeks, through the intersection of information obtained in archaeological research and information obtained in documentary written and iconographic sources, reveal the physical changes undergone by the coast of the city and the activities that conditioned these changes

A presente disserta??o tem como foco de estudo a constitui??o e as transforma??es por que passou a ?rea portu?ria da cidade de Porto Alegre do s?culo XVIII a meados do s?culo XIX. Full textThe thesis compares the epigraphical documentation of port occupations of six Mediterranean cities (Aquileia, Ostia-Portus, Arles, Lyon, Narbonne, Hispalis). The first part studies the latin words concerning port occupations to determine the role of the professionals. This first part must be viewed in addition to the documentary corpus. The second part studies the social hierarchy inside port occupations and aims to identify elements of identity and social cohesion inside the port. Finally, the last part estimates the place of port professionals in local economy and inside the elites. The link with other cities is also considered

Full textThis study deals with the defensive systems of three dozen small and middle-sized towns of central Alsace, from their building between the 13th and 15th Centuries, to their definitive dismantling during the 19th Century. Various resources were exploited : examination of existing remains, archaeological surveys, visual sources (maps, prints, old photographs), Middle Age and Modern period archives. The latter source included a major condition report on Alsace’s small cities, towns and villages, initiated by the province’s head of fortifications in 1779, which offers a complete overview of fortification systems before they were abandoned. The study addresses the questions of the construction materials used, the variety of defensive elements (doors, walls, moats, ramparts, etc.), topographical data and a chronology of their construction. The major teachings, in a field so far focused on large cities’ walls, are the broad range of solutions to the protective needs and the diversity of their chronology and layout models that are just as interesting as those of larger cities. This is noted until the 16th Century, when, with few exceptions, these small and middle-sized towns were not able toupgrade their defense to the level of bulwarks. Well maintained though, they were still seen as a major defensive support for the region by the royal administration, soon before the French revolution

Full textRome and Ephesus are two iconic harbor cities of the ancient Mediterranean; the first was the center of the Roman Empire and the second became the Roman capital of Asia Minor at the end of the 1st c. BC. The economic and commercial influence of these two ports in the Mediterranean depended heavily on their harbor systems. The aim of this study is to discern the economic development of Rome and Ephesus from the geochemical signals of the pollution they were exposed to. To this end, we drilled cores through the sedimentary archives of the two ancient harbors and measured major and trace element concentrations and Pb isotope compositions. Both harbors were subject to delta progradation, Rome by the Tiber and Ephesus by the Caÿster, which changed the aquatic environments from being initially open and well oxygenated to becoming closed and anoxic. The harbor basins finally shut down for shipping when an epilimnic system came into place due to too shallow a depth of the water column. Although changing environmental conditions and multiple dredgings appear to have altered some parts of the geochemical record, the pollution levels of lead quite accurately reflect the state of the economic health of Rome and Ephesus, which evolved the most during periods of prosperity and disorder. Pb isotope data, converted into geological parameters (Tmod, μ and к), further allowed deducing the provenance of the geological sources of lead ores at the origin of the pollution. Based on these results, it appears that lead ore supplies during the Roman period were of local origins, reflecting how Rome and Ephesus dominated the surrounding economic areas with which they were in contact. However, while the beginning of the Middle Ages is accompanied by a decline of Rome, Ephesus regains its past prosperity with the importation of Hercynian lead from western Europe. It was produced massively as a result of the medieval economic revolution that Europe experienced from the 10th century onward
