Abstract:

Abstract This paper discusses forms, types, and functions of nominalizations in Murui, a Witotoan language spoken in Colombia and Peru. It is concerned with those nominalizations that involve classifiers and those that do not (agentive S/A nominalizations and event nominalizations). Murui nominalizations share a number of noun-like and verb-like properties. While agentive S/A nominalizations and those involving classifiers are more noun-like in nature, event nominalizations are more verb-like.

Abstract:

Abstract:

During the time of quarantine, writer and translator Jimmy Weiskopf used his spare time to make his own ambil, black tobacco paste, together with the vegetal salt that needs to be mixed with it, which is a custom of the Murui, an Amazonian group. He resorted to the published texts of an anthropologist friend and tell us the story of his experience. He concludes his account with a eulogy of vegetal salt as a proof of the ingenuity of humankind in difficult circumstances, which is as timely now as ever and as a corollary, the manner in which a combination of trial-and-error, intuition and a close observation of our natural surroundings can compensate for the gadgetry of experimental science.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
In the Northwestern Amazon, resilience in construction has been traditionally conceived as a capacity for social, climatic, and spatial adaptability. Through methods of seasonal reconstruction based on lightweight enclosures made mainly from palms, vernacular housing, or malocas, in the region have proven efficient from environmental, human comfort, and cultural perspectives. Intricately woven palms, layered to shape roofs and walls, form enclosures that repel water, insulate heat, and reflect light while embodying specific projections of the body in space as the basis of unique cosmological perspectives of spatial organization. The palm-weave is the very root of the construction ethos of Northwestern Amazon housing. In the last few decades, these complex woven enclosures have been progressively replaced with industrial panels made of materials such as galvanized steel or cement, simply because of their low economic cost and availability. The loss of the palm-weave in roof-walls is not a mere replacement but a supplantation of material culture and has profound environmental, human comfort, and social implications. In a context where resilience has been shaped cognitively and physically through a plant-based material culture of adaptability, what is the extent of a potential craft disruption? The supplantation of the palm-weave technical practice implies a loss of social engagement in a craft that has defined an understanding of belonging and inhabitation. This article addresses how the geometric, scale, and spatial characteristics originating from the distinctive palm-weave craft of the Western Amazon malocas of the Bora, Miraña, Muiname (Witoto), Murui (Witoto), Yukuna, Tikuna, and Makuna groups perform as a living entity. By questioning the differences between craft preservation vis-à-vis reclamation, the author explores the specific architectural and social characteristics that are locally valued in the inherited craft to create a path for discussing future generations of palm-weave in the Northwestern Amazon.

Abstract:
This article provides a short report on a survey of the region to the east of the ancient city of Butrint, in south-west Albania. Centred on the modern villages of Mursi and Xarra, the field survey provides information on over 80 sites (including standing monuments). Previous surveys close to Butrint have brought to light the impact of Roman Imperial colonisation on its hinterland. This new survey confirms that the density of Imperial Roman sites extends well to the east of Butrint. As in the previous surveys, pre-Roman and post-Roman sites are remarkably scarce. As a result, taking the results of the Butrint Foundation's archaeological excavations in Butrint to show the urban history of the place from the Bronze Age to the Ottoman period, the authors challenge the central theme of urban continuity and impact upon Mediterranean landscapes posited by Horden and Purcell, inThe Corrupting Sea(2000). Instead, the hinterland of Butrint, on the evidence of this and previous field surveys, appears to have had intense engagement with the town in the Early Roman period following the creation of the Roman colony. Significant engagement with Butrint continued in Late Antiquity, but subsequently in the Byzantine period, as before the creation of the colony, the relationship between the town and its hinterland was limited and has left a modest impact upon the archaeological record.

Abstract:
Nva and the fall of the Berlin Wall Contrary to the arrangements from Potsdam, the remilitarization of both German states began as early as 1950. In 1956 the East German army was officially created under the name of the National People’s Army. The NVA was organized into four branches: Ground Forces (Landesstreitkräfte), Navy (Volksmarine), Air Force (Luftstreitkräfte) and Border Troops (Grenztruppen). In the years 1956–1990 they were the third largest (after the Soviet and Polish army) armed forces of the Warsaw Pact. As in other armies of the Eastern Bloc, the NVA was subject to strict party control. However, when the Berlin Wall was overthrown, this army remained a passive observer of events. After the reunification of Germany, only a few of its officers and soldiers were taken over by the Bundeswehr.

Abstract:
Pure Gold Uqubat In Jinayat Qanun This study aims to find out why the qanun Jinayat uses pure gold as the standard in jarimah maisir and uqubat (fines) against perpetrators of jinayat. Moreover, what is philosophical, juriditical, and sociological basis for determining the uqubat standard for fines for jinayat perpetrators. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative method. The results showed that pure gold uqubat contained in jinayat qanun is inseparable from the history of the Achenese which is thick with islamic values, so the pure gold uqubat is also taken from qanun. There are three factors that influece the establishment of pure gold uqubat stipulate in Aceh qanun, namely philosophical, juridical, and sociological factors.

Abstract:
Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L) is one of Indonesian most favorite chili called cabai rawit while Murai Batu (Copsychus malabaricus) is one of the Indonesian bird which has a distinctive sound. This bird is widely found in the territory of Indonesia, therefore, it is exciting to combine cayenne pepper and Murai Batu into a study. This study aims to determine the effect of Murai Batu's sound toward stomatal pores of the cayenne pepper leaves. Two months old cayenne was used in this study. The sound of Murai Batu was obtained by directly recording it using a recording device. The sound recorded was then inserted into the sound analyzer software. The recording of Murai Batu's sound was exposed to the cayenne pepper plant, particularly its leaves. The stomatal pores area of cayenne leaves were observed under a computer-connected microscope. The results of the study show that Murai Batu's sound affects the area of the stomatal pores. The benefit of this study is to provide information regarding the potential of the Murai Batu's sound to increase the photosynthesis process of cayenne leaves by looking at the sound effects of birds' chirping on the stomatal pores leaves the area.
