Karl Ritter von Strahl (1850−1929) was the last owner of the renowned collection of paintings and art objects kept in his castle of Stara Loka (Altenlack) near Škofja Loka in Carniola. In the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb, there are five paintings of hitherto unknown provenance, which undoubtedly originate from the Strahl Collection. The paper discusses the circumstances of Senečić’ s purchase and the earlier provenance of the five paintings. Furthermore, different paths by which the paintings

Writing the history of science in the Islamic world has become a study among Orientalists and Muslim scholars themselves. One of the scientists who focused on the study was Fuat Sezgin. His work in the field of history of science was a major influence on the recognition by Orientalists of the splendor of science in the Islamic world. Fuat Sezgin is popular among researchers in Indonesia for his critical studies of hadith, but pays little attention to the study of the history of science. Introduction This article is concerned with the recent rise in popularity of crypto art, the term given to digital artworks whose ownership and provenance are confirmed with a non-fungible token (NFT), making it possible to sell these works within decentralised cryptocurrency art markets. The goal of this analysis is to trace a genealogy of crypto art to Dada, an avant-garde movement that originated in the early twentieth century. My claim is that Dadaism in crypto art appears in its exhausted form that is a result of its revival in the 1950s and 1960s by the Neo Dada that reached the current

In “Dilemmas in a General Theory of Planning,” urban planners Horst Rittel and Melvin Webber outline what they term “wicked problems.” According to Rittel and Webber, wicked problems are unavoidably “ill-defined,” that is, unlike “problems in the natural sciences, which are definable and separable and may have solutions that are findable…[wicked problems] are never solved. At best they are only re-solved—over and over again” (160).
