The author of the paper reflects on the possibilities of applying musical folklore in schools. It is based on the long-standing tradition of applying Czech, Moravian and Silesian songs in music education and at the same time on the findings of empirical surveys that were carried out in the Czech Republic. This paper looks at research on music teachers’ attitudes towards folk songs.
