The aim of this study is to investigate the definition of musical influence networks and the construction of multilayer directed networks. By analyzing the provided dataset, the parameters of an artist's musical influence were evaluated and a musical influence network was constructed using the Pagerank method. The study also extends the single-layer network parameters to a multilayer network and proposes a centrality measure based on node degree. Musical theatre is frequently framed as connected to place and space, as terms like ‘the Broadway musical’ or ‘the Viennese operetta’ imply. National categorization, used prominently in titles of key monographs and handbooks, has turned out to be a moulding structure for the genre’s historiography. The term ‘American popular song form’ insinuates that musical form and style may reasonably be categorized by national adjectives. This is also true for the national attribution of earlier genres, such as the supposedly British ballad opera, French opéra comique and German singspiel. Signature piece

Abstract:
Deep learning has become the standard procedure to deal with Music Information Retrieval problems. This category of machine learning algorithms has achieved state-of-the-art results in several tasks, such as classification and auto-tagging. However, obtaining a good-performing model requires a significant amount of data. At the same time, most of the music datasets available lack cultural diversity. Therefore, the performance of the currently most used pre-trained models on underrepresented music genres is unknown. If music models follow the same direction that language models in Natural Langu

Music Information Retrieval (MIR) methods extracts from music high-level information like classification, musical feature extraction, song similarity and tonality. Musical genre is one of the orthodox methods of describing musical content and a significant part of MIR. At present, few MIR research has been done on Nigerian songs. So, this paper proposed to build a genre classification model based on Mel Spectrogram of audio songs. The process first converts ORIN audio dataset to Mel Spectrogram and extract numerical information from it using the Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) and apply m

Abstract:
This project sought to investigate the identity, role and function of popular music within classroom-based education in Singapore. Popular music is characterised by: (i) lnterdisclplinarity (music, dance, poetry, theatre, etc); (ii) It suffuses the lives of school-going youth in their out-of-school curriculum. (iii) Skill acquisition is frequently gained through more informal learning than is usual in institutional settings (Green, 2002). (iv) Participation in popular music by various communities seems to cut across ethnic, religious and age boundaries, which makes popular music participation

Abstract:
In Mozambique, development programmes have traditionally drawn on music as a means to promote social transformation by educating citizens on key social development issues. Shifting the focus from music as a teaching medium to music as a rich source of information can provide vital insights into public opinion and political ideas, and significantly impact the development of citizen engagement projects. Maximum gains for development and civil society agencies can be achieved by mainstreaming gender into mutual learning activities between singers, audiences, and academics.

The French composer Francis Poulenc had a profound admiration and empathy for the writings of the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca. That empathy was rooted in shared aspects of the artistic temperament of the two figures but was also undoubtedly reinforced by Poulenc’s fellow-feeling on a human level. As someone who wrestled with his own homosexuality and who kept his orientation and his relationships apart from his public persona, Poulenc would have felt an instinctive affinity for a figure who endured similar internal conflicts but who, especially in his later life and poetry, was more ope

Coffs Harbour on the north coast of NSW is a highway city sandwiched between the Great Dividing Range and the Pacific Ocean. For thousands of years it was the traditional land of the numerous Gumbaynggirr peoples. Tourism now appears to be the major industry, supplanting agriculture and timber getting, while a large service sector has grown up around a sizable retirement community. It is major holiday destination. Located further away from the coast in the midst of a dairy farming community, Bellingen has become a centre of alternative culture which relies heavily on a variety of festivals act
