Cantigas de Santa Maria (‘Canticles of Holy Mary’) consists of 420 poems with musical notation written during the reign of Alfonso X of Castile (r. 1251-1284). The Red Sea crisis began in late October 2023 when the Islamist Houthi movement launched missiles and armed drones at Israel demanding an end to the war in the Gaza Strip. Since these attacks proved unsuccessful, the movement turned to closer targets - international ships passing through the Bab el Mandeb strait and the aforementioned blockade. In the beginning, the targets were ships that had any connection with Israel, but later, however, the list expanded.
