Abstract:
The endothelium maintains a barrier between blood and tissue that becomes more permeable during inflammation. Membrane rafts are ordered assemblies of cholesterol, glycolipids, and proteins that modulate proinflammatory cell signaling and barrier function. In epithelial cells, the MAL family members MAL, MAL2, and myeloid-associated differentiation marker (MYADM) regulate the function and dynamics of ordered membrane domains. We analyzed the expression of these three proteins in human endothelial cells and found that only MYADM is expressed. MYADM was confined in ordered domains at the plasma

This paper investigates the possibilities of building large deployable mechanical network based on Myard linkage, a 5R overconstrained linkage. The motion configurations of a Myard linkage is first briefly introduced, and the results show that the linkage is a good candidate for forming large spatial deployable structures which can be deployed to a planar configuration and folded to a compact bundle. Three kinds of assembly ways of Myard linkages are introduced. Afterwards, two types of large spatial deployable networks based on Myard linkages with different twist angles are developed.

Abstract:
Abstract Prodidominae was recently re-established as a subfamily of Gnaphosidae, comprising 316 species placed in 33 genera. In this study, we conduct a cladistic analysis including 59 species of Prodidominae and 32 outgroup species. The matrix is composed of 291 morphological characters and the data are analysed under the parsimony criterion, using differing weighting regimes. Prodidominae is not recovered as monophyletic, because Anagrina did not arise within the subfamily. Cryptotoerithus, Molycria, Myandra, Nomindra, Wesmaldra and Wydundra arise to form a clade. Thus, we re-establish Molyc

The equity and inclusion issues are widely observed in Community Based Forest Management (CBFM) and Community Forestry (CF) is not an exception. Community Forest User Groups (CFUGs) are portrayed as robust grassroots institutions for forest management and group governance. However, many contemporary researches have shown that CFUGs are still governed by some influential local elites who hardly practice equity and inclusion. In this context, objectives of this paper are: to explore how equity and inclusion issues lead CFUGs fall into internal conflicts; and to demonstrate how CFUGs are able to

A series of novel (Z)- and (E)-3-caren-5-one oxime sulfonates were designed and synthesized in search of potent antifungal agents. The structures of the intermediates and target compounds were confirmed by UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR, and ESI-MS. The in vitro antifungal activity of the target compounds was preliminarily evaluated against Cercospora arachidicola, Physalospora piricola, Alternaria solani, Rhizoeotnia solani, Bipolaris maydis and Colleterichum orbicalare at 50 µg/mL. The bioassay results indicated that the target compounds exhibited the best antifungal activity against P. piricola, in whic

AbstractThree large saproxylic cerambycids with different pest/legal status co-occur in the Iberian oak woodlands, Cerambyx welensii (Cw), Cerambyx cerdo (Cc) and Prinobius myardi (Pm): Cw is an emerging pest, Cc is a protected but sometimes harmful species and Pm is a secondary/minor pest. A precise taxonomic diagnosis is necessary for research, management or protection purposes, but may be problematic mainly because Cw and Cc larvae are morphologically indistinguishable. To resolve this constraint, we genotyped adults, larvae and eggs collected over a wide geographical range using the mitoch

Indigenous buffalo is the black gold of Nepal because of its important contribution to the livelihood of the rural farmers and agricultural economy of the country. A study was done to investigate the performance of indigenous buffalo found in high-hill of the western districts of Nepal. Further, effect of genetic and non-genetic factors on productive and reproductive performance of indigenous buffalo was accessed. This study was done in four districts: Myagdi, Baglung, Parbat and Kaski for 2 consecutive years from 2016 to 2017. A semi-structured and questionnaire survey format was prepared and

Abstract Background Aberrant DNA methylation is a feature of mature B cell neoplasms (MBCN) however it is not clear whether this is an early or late event in the development of MBCN. We have previously reported that aberrant global methylation patterns are detectable in peripheral blood sampled years prior to diagnosis and now hypothesize that abnormal methylation at specific genomic regions precedes the diagnosis of MBCN. Methods: In our prospective cohort study peripheral blood was collected from healthy participants in the Melbourne Collaborative Cohort Study, (41,514 adult volunteers, recr

The current research study focuses on the feasibility of stand-alone hybrid solar-geothermal organic Rankine cycle (ORC) technology for power generation from hot springs of Bhurung Tatopani, Myagdi, Nepal. For the study, the temperature of the hot spring was measured on the particular site of the heat source of the hot spring. The measured temperature could be used for operating the ORC system. Temperature of hot spring can also further be increased by adopting the solar collector for rising the temperature. This hybrid type of the system can have a high-temperature heat source which could pow
