Abstract:
Neuromuscular diseases can cause spasticity, which has an impact on the quality of life for persons who suffer it. A muscle tightness that depends on velocity is the outcome of spasticity. The goal of myofascial release, a type of manual treatment, is to restore ideal length, reduce discomfort, and enhance function by applying a low load, long duration stretch to the myofascial complex. Many people with spasticity utilise stretches in the hope that tightness or contracture of soft tissues can be reduced and prolonged. Objective: To find out the research on the impact of myofacial release and s

Various stretching technique have been used to improve muscle flexibility in rehabilitation and sports .Mechanisms involving the efficacy of a stretching technique were studied and certain conclusions indicate one technique better than the other. The aim of the present study was to measure hamstring flexibility after giving Myofacial Release Technique (MFR) and Mulligan Bent Leg Raise (BLR) and comparing the effects between the two techniques. A study was conducted among 30 asymptomatic physiotherapy students ranging from 18 – 25year of age with bilateral hamstring tightness and were randomize

Introduction: Knee Osteoarthritis is a condition that frequently occurs in elderly which has a major impact on the elderly’s disability. As a degenerative disease, knee osteoarthritis occurs due to cartilage damage which is then accompanied by inflammation, pain, stiff joints and muscles thereby limiting the range of motion. This research aims to compare the effect of Kinesio taping and a combination of myofascial release and Kinesio taping intervention on ROM improvement in elderly with knee osteoarthritis. Methods: This study applies a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent group app

Cervical compressive myelopathy commonly occurs due to degeneration or disc herniation. The persons with cervical meylopathy are usually advised for surgical decompression. Person with signs of cervical cord compression was treated with myofacial release and found to be improved in signs as well as the symptoms. Total 34 numbers of similar cases (31 males and 3 females) age ranging from 25 to 61 years were treated by myofascial release of periscapular soft tissue structures over last 2 & ½ years (2017 to 2020) and found to return back to their activities after 6 months of follow up.

Abstract Self-myofascial release (SMR) is a popular method to potentially increase the compliance and extensibility of the fascia and reduce muscle stiffness. The purpose of this study was to examine the acute effects of posterior muscle chain SMR on flexibility, vertical jump performance and balance ability. Eighteen young participants volunteered to take part in this crossover design study. They performed two self-massage sessions in randomized order separated by at least one week. One session consisted of posterior muscle chain SMR whereas the other one was performed on the upper limbs as a

The lumbar segmental instability might be caused by the iliopsoas tightness that aggravated lumbar lordosis, indirectly resulting in low back pain, decreased muscle strength or flexibility around pelvic region, and over activities of lumbar muscles during lumbar flexion. In addition, high prevalence of iliopsoas tightness and back pain has been reported in football players. Howev
