Abstract:

This thesis deals with the MySQL database synchronization. The goal of this work was to get acquainted with database synchronization in a broader context, to choose the appropriate tools for real usage, and them to implement, evaluate and analyze these tools. From these techniques was selected MySQL replication technology that solves the synchronization task of distributed evidence database system of health implantable devices in the best way. The replication was implemented on this database system and after the testing was used in the company Timplant Ltd.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis is about creating server application that process and interprets data from the database. Main aim of such application is able to process a large number of database requests in real-time environment. Provided database contains records of measuring download speed and quality of mobile connection via different radio technology from various providers. Those measured data are sent from users all around the world and amount of data collected is still growing. Therefore created server application can adapt to increasing size of database thanks to aggregation. This method of aggregation and use of index in database tables are further discussed in the theoretical part. Mainly putting indexes in tables produce significant acceleration of processing database requests. Final product of this thesis is an application that consist of three components: a server application running aggregation, website that interprets measured data and back-end interface providing measured data as well. Data at the website are presented in form of graphs for different countries and used radio technologies. Web address and user manual for finished applications are provided in the fourth chapter of diploma thesis. In the last part of thesis are performed various speed tests of programmed application that confirm the effectiveness of selected and described methods to accelerate work with the database.

Abstract:

Package management systems are very effective and comfortable solution of installing, maintaining and erasing software from computer. Their basic idea is that all information about installed software is kept in one place and is managed by common utilities. RPM database is such place, where information are being kept. Currently used solution is obsolete and needs some improvements. This thesis analyzes current solution, possible alternative options and based on this a new database design is proposed. A prototype implementation is also included and it is compared with current solution.

The objective of this project is to design and create internet shop offering functions, which are common and essential for this type of application. It will also offer functions, which will ensure troublefree and safe run. The base of design are UML models (ER diagram, USE CASE diagram). To purpose of this master´s thesis is modernization of database system. This system is designed in Microsoft Office Access program. To create the new system will be used HTML and PHP languages, as a database server will be used MySQL. The first section contains information about data modeling. In the next part there is description of UML language and Use Case diagram for users of system. The main part of the thesis is description of the created system. There are views of screens which can be used by users. Multiuser operation is realized by users rights and definitions enter to the system. The whole database is created as a web application. Application will be uploaded to the company server. Users start the system through their web browser.

Abstract:

This thesis is trying to find its way in extensive area of relatively new problems of E-learning. E-learning has come together with fast advancement of the Internet trying to make education more comfortable and faster and at the same time trying to lower its dependency on the human resources. A lot of a development of the online tests is still needed. However, it is important to make clear the rules of the "game" and to press for their integration. The first goal to achieve the full-value system which would be able to substitute the conventional methods of education is to find out and solve the issues of testing in general, to analyze the requirements and to create data format for the data portability, which is required because of the mutual communication between different systems. On these bases it is possible to design the database scheme and then the complete system.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is concerned with creation of a computer program for management of technical documentation and its retrieval over a network. The program allows keyword search in documents in a database, either in all of them or in those selected according to given criteria. Any document found is then available for viewing. Moreover, users can create custom shortcuts to arbitrary places in documents for quick access. The program has been written in the PHP scripting language and employs an HTTP server, thus it can be used not only on a local area network but also remotely from other places with internet connectivity.

Abstract:

This paper focuses on NoSQL database systems. These systems currently serve rather as supplement than replacement of relational database systems. The aim of this paper is to compare 4 selected NoSQL database systems (MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Apache HBase and Redis) with a main focus on performance and scalability. Performance comparison is done using simulated workload in a 4 nodes cluster environment. One relational SQL database is also benchmarked to provide comparison between classic and modern way of maintaining structured data. As the result of comparison I found out that none of these database systems can be labeled as "the best" as each of the compared systems is suitable for different production deployment.

This Diploma thesis deals with the analysis and proposal of the pilot BI solution for the company Svoboda & Partner CZ s.r.o., engaged in the automechanic expertise. Fundamental objectives of this work focus particularly on the above mentioned pilot BI solutions and partial objectives deal with an analysis of the company and its needs, arising from business strategy and market analysis applications available to support the visualization of transaction reporting. These objectives have been achieved by analyzing the company's business model in chapter seven, further analysis of needs and problems within the company in chapter eight. Before the analysis, the diploma thesis deals with a survey of available applications that offer functionality of dynamically generated graphs to aid visualization of transaction reporting in chapter six and finally a major analysis and preparation of pilot BI and transaction reporting for this business which you can find from chapter 9 to chapter eleven. Contribution of this work for the company will be a complete analysis and delivery of all necessary documents in order to decide whether the above BI solutions to the company implement or not. In the case of a positive decision of the company, it is expected that thanks to BI solutions the ways of looking at corporate data can be more expanded, more precise and more operational management of the company, achieving better performance, higher profits and more efficient decision-making based on better data for decision making.

The thesis contains a proposal and implementation of an environment convenient for operation of network client applications which use common terminals. It also consists of implemented examples where the way of their usage is presented. The centralized way of communication is the basis. The approach is used also for the possibility of their joining with managing subsystems, i.e. unlimited ways of regulation of systems for real estate management, access to devices, user authority access to access data points to the devices. The environment is based on operation system Linux and database MySQL. Their realization is supposed on a server, in the network environment. This master’s thesis aims to design a suitable system based on a relational database for the purposes of administrative activities of the District Football Association. The created relational database should be managed primarily by the association secretary, to a lesser extent by members of association specialist committees. The database should be able to contain all the information and records which have been dealing with the paper form so far (match fixtures, awarding fines, clubs’ fees, players’ punishments, etc.). Routine administrative work, such as reading, inserting, deleting and updating the data will be carried out through the web interface and should not place any special demands on the level of users computer skills.

Abstract:

The master`s thesis deals with a concept of a web information system, designed to manage clients of a wireless network based on Mikrotik routerboards. The system allows the internet provider to have a great survey over all clients of the wireless network and to manage the settings of Mikrotik based network hardware. Furthermore, it offers an ability of signal strength monitoring and data accounting. The thesis has been split into two sections. The first one describes the information system as such, used platforms, equipment, running services and server configuration. The second section is fully focused on the analysis of the application security, database schema design and functional forms. The strongest emphasis has been put to the conjunction of the Mikrotik OS based routerboards with a web server and to the testing in a real environment.

Abstract:

This thesis describes the design and implementation of information system for company Patrokolos s.r.o., dealing with wireless links for CCTV and security systems. Information system enables its users to record data about custommers, entered into the system and assign them a new contract, they may suggest using an integrated graphical interface. It allows to work with information of produced units. Based on the topology of the proposed contract enabled the implemented system to build configuration skript for Mikrotik OS, which then loaded into the unit. The information system is implemented in PHP 5 in cooperation with the MySQL database system 5.1.

The aim of this work was to design and implement the application that is easily, quickly and effectively able to determine the position in the www search engines based on the given World Wide Web pages and theirs key words. The application is accessible by the web interface and it enables comparison of the position statements from the archives, comparison of the graph outputs, as well as sending of PDF format files containing regular results statements. Together with the position it is stored the number of references of particular word in the search engine. Furthermore, it is possible to display also the position changes compared with the former statements. As stated above, it is possible to store the outputs in the PDF format documents and therefore it is easy to shore the entire development in your personal computer, in case online system is insufficient.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with design and implementation of a Web page that allows the manipulation with data on a server and workstation in the laboratory. It is also possible to get more information of these stations, such as installed on the virtual systems, free space on a drive or the contents of the directory. Details of the stations provide scripts written by Bc. Jiří Homolka in a Bash language. For this reason, the work also deals with the issue of scripts to run in various modes - in the background or in the pseudoterminal. Part of this work is the formation of the database structure, which allows to trace the activities on the workstations and show the history. The web is accessible form the Internet so there was given an attention to the security and protection against attempts of unauthorized intrusion. Therefore the system can login only registered users with appropriate rights or new accounts can be created or existing modified.

The main goal of this master‘s thesis was to create software solution suitable for measuring and results processing of regularity rally races and to create supplementary web application. The measuring application was created using integrated development environment Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 and c# programming language. For application to work correctly, it was necessary to create a database model, using MySQL relational database management system. The measuring application can work both with local and remote database server. Web application allows user to see various data including results of racing events or tournaments, data are being fetched from the MySQL database. There was an option to explore existing circuit racing software Vola Timing Circuit – Pro for inspiration.

Abstract:

At the beginning, the project describes basics and utilization of data warehousing and OLAP techniques and operations used within the data warehouses. Then follows a description of one of the commercial OLAP client - based on the features of this product the requirement analysis of the freeware OLAP cube client displayer is desribed - choosing the functionality to be implemented in the client. Using the requirement analysis the structural design of the application (including UML diagrams) is made. The best solution from compared libraries, frameworks and development environments is chosen for the design. Next chapter is about implementation and tools and frameworks used in implemetation. At the end the thesis clasifies the reached results and options for further improvement.

Coders of databases repeatedly face the problem of checking their Structured Query Language (SQL) code. Instructors face the difficulty of checking student projects and lab assignments in database courses. We collect and categorize common MySQL programming errors into three groups: data definition errors, data manipulation errors, and transaction control errors. We build these into a comprehensive list of MySQL errors, which novices are inclined make during database programming. We collected our list of common MySQL errors both from the technical literature and directly by noting errors made in assignments handed in by students. In the results section of this research, we check and summarize occurrences of these errors based on three characteristics as semantics, syntax, and logic. These data form the basis of a future static MySQL checker that will eventually assist database coders to correct their code automatically. These errors also form a useful checklist to guide students away from the mistakes that they are prone to make.

This project deals with a web-based lecture browser, whose goal is to simplify the gaining of knowledge with the use of multimedia. It presents an existing lecture browser that was created for a diploma thesis at FIT VUT Brno. Demonstrated are the technologies that are used and which will be used to migrate the browser to a MySQL database and to develop a transcription module for speeches. The reader will be acquainted with an analysis and model of the new application. Furthermore, implementation methods for development and subsequent testing are discussed. At the end of the project is a conclusion about the future development of web-based lecture browsers.

There is information to my master's thesis which is called “Web application for NS2 training”. This application works after installation and its source codes are saved on applied CD. It is said about implement Network Simulator 2. It helps to realize simulation of nets and then author inserts information about them into web application. Registered web's visitor has possibility to insert project into application. The project contents information about simulation created in NS2. Web application can also visible detail of possible project which is approved of administrator. Then the visitor can sort projects, search entered expression or connect his contribution to discussion forum. Administrator can approve users projects in his part of application. It makes available for the others. He can also delete them from database. Theory about technologies which are used for implementation of this application. It is talked about web Apache server, database MySQL server and programmable PHP language. There is also mentioned information about security of web application included possible attacks on applications and their database. It is presented proposal of database which creates core of application. This proposal is depended on application requirements. Next chapters give to reader whole image about functionality of application. There are mentioned samples of final graphical image of application. This document also provides the shows of source codes for creating database tables.

Abstract:

This work includes specification and analysis of requirements, design and implementation of the internet news server. The server controls newsgroups and associated news. It provides availability of the articles by NNTP protocol and HTTP protocol (by web interface). The server supports a user authentication and an optional proxy mode, when all NNTP requests are resent to another remote NNTP server. A mechanism that provides news-downloading from remote NNTP servers and performs distribution function is included too. The application is designed to run on MS Windows NT (and higher version) as a NT service. The server is configurable by a graphic user interface. The work also includes theoretical information needed for successful accomplishment of the above-mentioned requirements.

Databases are commonly used today in a vast amounts of applications. The main point in using databases is to be able to store and access data fast and in a secure way. These databases need to be able make different operations as fast as possible without losing data. The two main database technologies used today are NoSQL and SQL (StructuredQuery Language) databases. NoSQL is an umbrella term for all DBMS (Database Management system) which are not using SQL like relational databases do. NoSQL stands for non-SQL, non-relational or not only SQL. In this thesis one DBMS from each database technology is compared to each other. The comparison is based on space allocation when they contain different amounts of records and time performance when executing different operations on different amounts of records. The operation stested for the speed performance were insertion, select, update and remove. The results showed that MySQL allocated less space when containing large amounts of records. While MongoDB was faster in almost all test case for every operation.

Abstract:

When needing to search for data in multiple datasets there is a risk that not all da-tasets are of the same type. Some might be in XML-format; others might use a re-lational database. This could frighten developers from using two separate datasets to search for the data in, because of the fact that crafting different search methods for different datasets can be time consuming. One option that is greatly overlooked is the usage of regular expressions. If a search expression is created it can be used in a majority of database engines as a “WHERE” statement and also in other form of data sources such as XML. This option is however, at best, poorly documented and few tests have been made in how it performs against traditional search methods in databases such as “LIKE”. Multiple experiments comparing “LIKE” and “REGEXP” in MySQL have been performed for this paper. The results of these experiments show that the possible overhead by using regular expressions can be motivated when considering the gain of only using one search phrase over several data sources.
När behovet att söka over flertalet typer av datakällor finns det alltid en risk att inte alla datakällor är av samma typ. Några kan vara i XML-format; andra kan vara i form av en relationsdatabas. Detta kan avskräcka utvecklare ifrån att använda två oberoende datakällor för att söka efter data, detta för att det kan vara väldigt tidskrävande att utveckla två olika vis att skapa sökmetoderna. Ett alternativ som ofta är förbisett är att använda sig av reguljära uttryck. Om ett sökuttryck är skapat i reguljära uttryck så kan det användas i en majoritet av data-basmotorerna på marknaden som ett ”WHERE” påstående, men det kan även an-vändas i andra typer av datakällor så som XML. Detta alternativ är allt som ofta dåligt dokumenterat och väldigt få tester har ut-förts på prestandan i jämförelse med ”LIKE”. Som grund för denna uppsats har flertalet experiment utförs där ”LIKE” och ”REGEXP” jämförs i en MySQL databas. Försöken visar på att den eventuella försämringen i prestanda kan betala sig vid användande av multipla datatyper.

Sukurti MySQL duomenų bazių valdymo sistemos duomenų bazių duomenų valdymo sistemą, kuri duomenų perdavimui naudotų REST architektūros principus. REST architektūra gali būti naudojama padidinti įvairių sistemų integravimo galimybes, nes suteikia patogiai prieinamą sąsają prie sistemos funkcionalumo ir duomenų. Tad sukūrus sistemą MySQL DBVS valdymui REST architektūros pagalba, būtų galima kurti sistemas, kurios naudojasi kitų tiekėjų duomenimis.
REST architecture allows easier collaboration between two systems, as provided an easy way to call necessary functions in remote system and to get desired results. Such systems as Amazon, eBay, Twitter have their own API with support of REST architecture. However the REST architecture is not provided by default in MySQL, therefore additional tools have to be used. The purpose of this work is to design and implement a system, which could be used as a database management tool in REST architecture. Therefore in this thesis a requirement and architecture specifications are provided for such a system. The implemented system is tested and install and configuration manuals are provided.

Solid State Drives (SSD) blir idag allt vanligare som lagringsmedium och håller på att bli ett alternativ till magnetiska hårddiskar. Denna studie+ har undersökt hur man på bästa sätt kan utnjytta SSDer i en MySQL-databas. Undersökningen genomfördes med hjälp av experiment där prestandamätningar gjordes för att få en klar bild på i vilken konfiguration av SSDs som ger bäst prestanda i MySQL. Mätverktygen som användes var sql-bench och mysqlslap. Resultaten visar att en databas på en enskild SSD presterar lika bra som en databas med SSD-cache under majoriteten av mätningarna och visar bättre resultat än resterande konfigurationerna som var en databas på hårddisk och transaktionsloggen på en SSD.
Solid State Drives (SSD) are now becoming more common as storage and is about to become an alternative to magnetic disks. This report studied how to best utilize SSDs in a MySQL database. This study was carried out using experiments in which performance benchmarks were made to get an accurate view on which configuration of SSDs that gives the best performance in MySQL. The benchmarks where made with sql-bench and mysqlslap. The results indicate that a database using only SSD storage performs equal to a database of solid-state cache under the majority of the tests and shows better results than the remaining configurations that include a database on a single hard drive and a configuration with the transaction log on a SSD.

Diploma thesis Implementation of modular web based application deals with web modular systems. The aim of web modular system is to allow creating universal web presentation without necessity of creation new systems. Diploma thesis is devided into couple parts. Advantages of modular solution of web systems are highlighted in the first part and after that is analyzed the current situation of this problem. In the next part is designed own web modular system above all its kernel, modules and data model. In the final part is described own implementation of own designed system. The most stress is layed on security of the system. In the conclusion is summed up own solution and its most advantages.
