Abstract:
Normal 0 false false false EN-MY X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 The LDPE was blended with various contents of tapioca starch (10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%) with addition of compatibilizer, which is PE-g-MA and cooking oil as plasticizer. The blends were prepared by co-rotating twin screw extrusion process and characterized by melt flow index (MFI) analysis and tensile test. Tapioca starch based polyethylene biofilms were studied in term of biodegradability by fungi test. The increasing of starch content to LDPE blend was reduced the MFI values and tensile strength but in 30% and 40% of starch content in tensile strength is higher than control LDPE’s strength due to molecular orientation in sample. However, incorporation of PE-g-MA as compatibiliz increase the mechanical properties of starch based polyethylene blends due to the reaction between maleated PE and starch, thus improves adhesion and reduces slippage at matrix-filler interface.ers The increasing of TS also increase the water content in film sample, weight loss percentage in TGA, and percentage degradation of LDPE/TS blend film. Abstract:
AbstractHebrew proper names presented significant challenges to the translator of Greek Exodus. He employed various strategies including transcription and translation. In most cases he created new transcriptions or employed those found in Greek Genesis. On occasion Hellenized forms of proper names are found, but these tend to be the exception. Etiologies were handled variously. Rarely names seem to be added in the Greek text. This paper interacts with previous analyses of the translator’s practices in handling Hebrew proper names, offering alternative explanations for several phenomena observed.

Abstract:
A number of recent research tendencies in Translation Studies focus explicitly on the translator in some way, rather than on translations as texts. These trends might be grouped under the term “Translator Studies”. The article argues that this new focus is inadequately represented in Holmes’ classic map. Evidence of the recent trends is found especially in translation sociology, but also in translation history and in research into the translator’s decision-making processes. A broad outline of Translator Studies would cover sociology, culture and cognition, all looking at the translator’s agency, in different ways.

Abstract:
Abstract A connection between Paul’s charges against his interlocutor in Rom 2:21–22 and Josephus’s account of a notorious Jewish teacher in Rome (A.J. 18.81–84) is a catalyst for re-examining the purpose, topic, and argument of Rom 2:17–29. The foreground issue is not the soteriological status of Jews, but the effectiveness of typical Jewish law-based teaching to solve human foolishness, wickedness, and impiety. Paul reframes the discourse topic to demonstrate that typical Jewish law-based educational activity is ineffective in bringing about God’s glory among the nations. The interlocutor is thus a foil for Paul’s own eschatologically conceived apostolic ministry.

AbstractThis paper re-reads the story of Cozbi, Zimri and Phinehas as told in Numbers 25. After establishing the significance of names as interpretive devices in Old Testament writings, the story is read as a way of examining the validity of Cozbi's name. What is found is that her name coerces us to understand the story in a particular fashion that paints her as an enemy and Phinehas as a hero, an outcome totally at odds with the text as it presents itself. Should Cozbi then be re-named? Would this redeem her from the text? Or perhaps could her name point us towards to some other way of understanding this text?

Abstract:
Psychologists have long acknowledged the link between names and identity, but little research has studied women's choices about their married names. This study examines the descriptive characteristics of women who plan different choices and women's reasoning behind their choices in a sample of undergraduate women. Women who wish to keep or hyphenate their names have more feminist attitudes, score higher on instrumentality/agency, and are more likely to be immigrants and/or women of color. Content coding of open-ended responses on reasons for name choices showed those who want their husbands' names for themselves and their children most often cited tradition, a denial that names were linked with identity, and union within marriage. Women who want to keep or hyphenate their names mentioned the link between names and identity, professional reasons, and also union within marriage. The two groups often used similar language to explain different choices.

Abstract:
Abstract: The focus of this paper is about the polemic that occurred around the use of the names Yahweh and God in Christianity. The name Yahweh is claimed by The Sacred Name Movement as the only name of the LORD to be believed and mentioned by believers. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to examine this view and find out whether the mention of the name of God that used in both the Bible and worship is wrong and Christianity must re-use the name Yahweh. Using qualitative methods sourced from literature studies, authors make the critical but evaluative studies by examining hermeneutically and collecting data from various sources of literature. As a result, researcher concludes that Christianity is not antipathic to the use of the name Yahweh but stating that mentioning and using the name Yahweh will affect on the salvation of someone is an absurd assumption and a logical fallacy.

This article examines internal and external intellectual discourses that have developed around Africana Studies as an academic discipline within the United States from its inception to the present. It explores intellectual constructs and discursive contexts that have shaped the variations, complexities, and contradictions in the conceptualization, scope, and philosophical direction of Africana Studies as a discipline. It argues that the name or names of the discipline should reflect the nature and scope, curriculum content and structure, declared goals and expected outcomes of Africana Studies.

Abstract:
The present article sets out to analyze the emergence and institutionalization of American Studies as an academic discipline in Romania, with a focus on the specific contexts and factors that influenced this process, and the ways in which its practitioners defined, constructed, and focused their endeavors. Taking the University of Bucharest as a case study and adding insights from other Romanian universities, the paper seeks to give an account of: 1) the ways in which the several decades-long tradition of teaching American literature in the Communist period (sporadically until the 1960s, but ever more substantially in the following decades) prepared the ground for the institutionalization of American Studies programs; 2) the “conditions of possibility” that enabled this institutionalization after the collapse of the Communist regime in 1989, with an emphasis on the restructuring of the Romanian higher education system, on the one hand, and the specific renegotiations of the field of American Studies, on the other; 3) American Studies curriculum development and its impact on Romanian academia as an example of curricular reform in the spirit of interdisciplinarity; 4) the situated contributions that Romanian Americanists have made to international scholarship in American Studies by bringing new research agendas to the fore.
