Riella macrocarpa was described as R. helicophylla var. macrocarpa by Allorge in 1929. Later, this variety has not been used further and has not been treated correctly in the checklists. As of spring 2018, evacuation orders have been lifted from the entire area of Naraha Town and most of Tomioka, except for certain areas. While many evacuees have chosen their evacuation destinations as their permanent residences, some have returned to their former towns. The osteology of the holotype and referred specimens of the saurolophine hadrosaurid, Gryposaurus latidens , from the lower Two Medicine Formation of Montana (USA), is described in detail.
