The aim of this thesis is to analyze and assess the quality management system in a chosen firm and to propose measures that would lead to the improvement of its functioning. The theoretical part deals with quality management in manufacturing companies, describes the individual approaches to quality management, tools and methods. The practical part describes the quality management system in the company Robert Bosch, spol. s r.o., České Budějovice and its assessment is performed based on an analysis of documents relating to quality management, interviews with managers and employees of the quality department and observing the functioning of the quality management system. Thesis is then focused on several areas with potential for improvement. One of them is documenting of product audit, with lack of evaluation of the records of the tests. Proposed measure is electronic archiving of records and statistical processing of data from tests on these records listed. Another area is related to the archiving of samples. Set of measures to improve the samples archiving system is applied, together with cost saving measures.

This thesis is focused on the example of process approach used as the tool for quality management in a real company. The aim of this paper is to get readers acquaint with quality control management eight principles from the ISO/IEC 9001 perspective. The thesis then elaborates the practical site of process management approach. The paper describes process management evolution stages, its benefits, there are introduced specific types of modelling methods and ways for process performance measurement. The implementation of process approach is then shown on practical example. The thesis's practical part provides process charts for key organization processes drafted according to the one selected modelling method, descriptions for such processes, suggestions for change aiming to process optimisation and finally also proposes measurable process performance indicators.

This diploma thesis deals with data quality, with emphasis on issues of management and on tools which were developed for solving data quality issues. The goal of this work is to summarize knowledge about data quality problems which includes its evaluation, management, description of key problems in data and possibilities of their solutions. The aims of this thesis are among others also analysis of market of software tools for support and management of data quality and mainly comparison of functionalities and possibilities of several of those tools. This work is split into two consequential parts. The first theoretical part is focusing on opening to problems of data quality and mainly data quality management, including identification of main steps for successful management. The second practical part is focusing on the market with data quality tools, especially its characteristics, segmentation, evolution, current state and expectable trends. The important section of this part is also practical comparison of features and evaluation of the work with several data quality tools. This work aims to be beneficial for all the audience interested in data quality problems, especially its management and supporting technology. Thanks to focusing on data quality tools market and tools comparison this work could be also useful guide for companies which are currently choosing the proper tool for introducing the data quality. The aim of this thesis is to define methods and techniques of quality management as a tool for improving the efficiency of municipalities. The theoretical part deals with the concept of quality and its management, the European Union's attitude and the basic methods of quality management in municipalities. Especially, the method of the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is discussed. Finally, the theoretical background characterizes the town of Sušice, its activity and the functional composition of the municipal authority in Sušice. In the practical part, the CAF model is implemented into the municipal authority in Sušice. It provides a report describing the results of self-assessment, information about the evaluation team, procedures and forms of assessment, and responses to the questions of the CAF model. The outcome includes the evaluation of individual criteria, the summary of results using the SWOT analysis and a draft of the improvement plan.

Requirements Engineering and Software Quality Management is nowadays considered to be one of the important parts of the software development process. This thesis deals with connecting the theoretical concept of requirements engineering and usage of functions offered by Enterprise Architect tool, which should support the requirements engineering and software quality management processes. The main goal is to propose procedures of Enterprise Architect usage during the project in such a way, which will help to raise quality of the final product. The purpose is to offer a systematic and conscious way of implementation Enterprise Architect elements into software development processes, because this tool is able to support the whole cycle of the product. The methodology was designed as a result of theoretical concept, existing requirements engineering approaches and my own experience acquired during working on projects as a business and test analyst. The contribution of the designed methodology is in bringing recommendations, practices and procedures saying how to use Enterprise Architect during the software development process in order to gain the highest possible software quality. The thesis is structured in four sections describing the appropriate theory, analyzed requirement engineering approaches, critical mistakes during this process and the methodology design.

The introduction describes fundamental quality management systems from which I have selected data to be analyzed and propose the most appropriate solution. Then I conducted AS-IS analyze of the company XYZ CZ s.r.o., a description of the current situation in the company and a cost analysis. The data obtained from the cost analysis I processed with the help of quality tools and their evaluation was carried out, which was followed by the design of the solution. In conclusion, I conducted a technical - economic evaluation of the results achieved.

My work deals with analysis of attitudes to ČSN EN ISO standards acceptance, above all ČSN EN ISO 9001:2001 and ČSN EN ISO 14001:2004. It focuses on microeconomic view of acceptance of these standards by Czech companies. The first problem is concerned with what standard is accepted and perceived in the Czech Republic and it examines possible influence by refusal or acceptance of the standard. The second area of my study is assesment of the degree of assets and costs for a company by standard implementation and subsequent calculation of these values. Analysis of estimations from experience, if the standard is an administrative burden for the society or if it is dealt with an effective instrument to successful development of the society. My study treats of reasons, causes and consequences of acceptance or non-acceptance of the standards.

Nowadays the development speed of new software products is a key to success and it is not important whether the aim is to make customer's urges satisfied or get ahead of one's competitors and fill the market gap. Because of the increase of development speed the demands on the saving process of software quality are increasing. There are two types of tools that are supporting the process of software quality assurance. Firstly, we talk about comprehensive testing tools of commercial character that usually include many functions, but their purchase is extremely expensive. On the other hand there are open-source tools that are available for free, they function on many kinds of operating systems and it is possible to modify them. Unfortunately their functions are basically focused on a certain subset of controlling the software quality assurance. Company TRASK solution a.s. has decided to change this current situation, so it asked competence centre Software Quality Assurance at the University of Economics in Prague in order to create Integrated Testing Node (ITN) that would combine the advantages of open-source tools. Moreover, it would offer broad range of functions as commercial solution. The purpose of this thesis is to describe relevant phases of the process of creating the Integrated Testing Node from the factual and methodical point of view. This aim is divided into partial aims included task analysis and the proposal of solving system, open-source products portfolio analysis, choice of the most convenient tools for following integration, choosing the method of information system building, evaluating the feedback from a client and the proposal of future development of this tool. As far as the biggest contribution of this thesis is concerned, it is the realisation of ITN project that can be used during information classes at the University of Economics in Prague. Furthermore, it can be used as the control of software quality in commercial companies.

This thesis deals with the areas of enterprise data quality, data integrity and data consolidation from the perspective of Business Intelligence (BI), which is currently experiencing significant growth. The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive view of the data quality in terms of BI, to analyze problems in the area of data quality control and to propose options to address them. Moreover, the thesis aims to analyze and assess the features of specialized software tools for data quality. Last but not least aim of this thesis is to identify the critical success factors in the field of data quality in CRM and BI projects. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first (theoretical) part deals with data quality, data integrity and consolidation of data in relation to BI trying to identify key issues, which are related to these areas. The second (practical) part of the thesis deals at first with the features of software tools for data quality and offers their fundamental summary as well as the tools breakdown. This part also provides basic comparison of the few selected software products specialized at the corporate data quality assurance. The practical part hereafter describes addressing the data quality within the specific BI/CRM project conducted by Clever Decision Ltd. This thesis is intended primarily for BI and data quality experts, as well as the others who are interested in these disciplines. The main contribution of this thesis is that it provides comprehensive view not only of data quality itself, but also deals with the issues that are directly related to the corporate data quality assurance. This thesis can serve as a sort of guidance for one of the first implementation phases in the BI projects, which deals with the data integration, data consolidation and solving problems in the area of data quality.

Economics has already analyzed conditions under which voluntary approaches are more preferable than administrative and economic environmental tools. But the question is if the business practice reflects theoretical recommendations. Based on a survey, the most common motivations to apply voluntary approaches will be analyzed. Then it will be possible to identify or modify the most effective voluntary approach.

Závěrečná diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou Evaluace řízení vzdělávacího na vysoké škole. Cílem diplomové práce je zmapování současného stavu problematiky řízení vysokých školách z odborné literatury světových i domácích autorů a zejména z šetření provedeného okých školách. Práce je zaměřena na zjištění současného stavu evaluace kvality vzdělávacího procesu. Práce přináší přehled doporučovaného obsahu, kterému by měla být věnována pozornost při zpracování plánu na řízení evaluace kvality vzdělávacího procesu a měla by tak pomoci manažerům škol a sloužit jako praktický návod při vlastním zpracování části literární rešerše jsou teoreticky shrnuty požadavky, které jsou potřebné vybranému tématu. Výsledkem vlastní práce je analýza dokumentů týkajících se řízení kvality na vybraných vysokých školách a analýza vlastního šetření.

Current state: Using tools to identify and analyse risks is presently very important in nursing to minimise the risk of harm to patients that can be prevented. The FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) is a very efficient tool to address the failure issue. It is an important preventive method determining possible failures and proposing preventive measures to minimise the risk of errors. The RCA (Root Cause Analysis) is another important tool to handle failures. Objectives of the work: The objective of the research was to determine processes with the highest risks in nursing and to find out the most common risks associated with the nurse profession. Another objective is to describe the undesirable events reporting methods and to find out the utilisation of all risk analysis methods by nurses. And the final objective was to describe the intervention fall prevention programmes.Methodology: A qualitative research method was used to prepare the empirical part of the thesis. Data were collected using in-depth interviews. Qualitative data were coded using the pencil and paper technique; data were then categorised and respective subcategories were determined and shown in the SmartArt application. Research participants: Interviews were conducted with the head nurse, quality manager, senior nursing officer and departmental sister from the department of internal medicine, department of neurology and aftercare department. The first research was conducted in Nemocnice Jindřichův Hradec, a.s., the second in Nemocnice Tábor, a.s. and the final one in Nemocnice Písek, a.s. Results: It was found out from the results of the qualitative research that the most risky processes included medication in form of pills when, for example, generics drugs are given incorrectly or drugs of wrong strength are administered. The second risk process is the preparation of drugs from concentrated solutions of kalium, heparin or insulin. Administering intravenous drugs and infusion solutions is the third risky process. Too many activities of a nurse at one time is often the cause. Non-cooperation, poor communication of the patient and his/her family also lead to risky situations.Another serious group of risky processes includes patient transfer, moving the patient from a stretcher to a bed or going to the toilet. Further, it was found out that the most common risks are nosocomial infections, falls and decubital ulcers. Too much workload of nurses and new staff undergoing training are also mentioned as a risk. They include in particular medical assistants. Prescribing drugs through a computer system where the doctor relies on the nurse that she will alert when wrong drugs are prescribed although it is not her obligation to do so is also considered a common risk. Closing the infectious department in a hospital is the next risk. Patients who have a suspicion for certain diseases are then examined in a department. Nurses working there are afraid of getting infected from the ill person. And quite often, a disease is really found in the patients. Respondents gave different answers to the procedure of reporting undesirable events. The answers were different from one hospital to another. Nevertheless, all the reporting go to the hospital management that evaluates it. Nurses in the inquired hospitals do not use any risk analysis method. Not even nurses in management positions do not work with the methods and do not know the FMEA method. A direct analysis is addressed by the quality manager who most often uses the RCA analysis. Its results are discussed at meetings of nurses in the department, meetings of senior nursing officers or meetings of chief physicians. As for preventive programmes reducing the risk of falls it was found out that in all hospitals the screening of the risk of falls is standardly performed in all patients upon admission, except hospitalisations shorter than 3 days.
