Abstract:
The national culture of a city is a symbol of its unique identity, which profoundly affects the residents' sense of identity and belonging. Colour, as a visual expression of urban cultural landscape, not only shapes the visual image of the city, but also guides the residents' emotional experience and behavioural patterns in an invisible way. With the rapid development of cities, the phenomenon of serious loss of urban characteristics and one-sidedness of a thousand cities has become more and more prominent. This poses a challenge to the psychological feelings of urban residents and the diversi

The Nordic countries share many cross-sectoral targets at the national level to meet ambitious environmental, social, sustainable, and innovative development goals and targets. However, in the context of spatial planning, central governments in the Nordic countries often have limited ability to influence local and regional level priorities. As the Nordic region seeks a greener, more competitive, and socially sustainable future, understanding the diversity of ongoing national interventions and mechanisms in local and regional land use and spatial planning is needed. Australian regional, rural, and remote (RRR) students are transitioning from school to university at lower rates than students in metropolitan areas. This paper examines the similarities and differences between the experiences of RRR secondary school students in South Australia (SA) and New South Wales (NSW) contemplating the transition to university study. Comparing findings from two studies, this paper investigates how the state in which a student lives and studies influences their attitudes and decisions about progressing to higher education (HE). Abstract:
It is generally accepted that institutions are important for economic development. In this work, we analyse how the quality of regional institutions impacts performance of Italian electricity distribution utilities and show that utilities in regions with better government effectiveness, responsiveness towards citizens, control of corruption, and rule of law, also tend to be more cost efficient. The results suggest that national regulators should take regional institutional diversity into account in incentive regulation and efficiency benchmarking of utilities.

Gender disparity in the Nordic healthcare sector has significant social, cultural, and economic implications in societies that prioritise equality. Despite their progressive stance, Nordic countries continue to grapple with the persistent overrepresentation of women in healthcare, reflecting a broader gender division. This policy brief is based on the “Share the Care” project findings on gender segregation in healthcare, particularly in nursing. It provides key recommendations to increase diversity in nursing education. They can be implemented at different administrative levels, starting with

Abstract:
Active sand dunes in Kobuk Valley National Park are a regionally rare and ecologically distinct landscape feature occurring within the northern boreal biome. The sand dunes harbor a rich diversity of plants, including several rare and disjunct species and the endemic Kobuk locoweed (Oxytropis kobukensis). Pollinators associated with these dune plants have not been studied in Kobuk Valley, despite their essential role in transporting pollen which many plants rely on for successful reproduction. In order to gain a better understanding of pollinator diversity and plant-pollinator associations in

State-building establishes state-nation(s) [the state that makes diversity and democracy possible] as opposed to nation-building [which urges to create one nation (nation-state) without due consideration of diversity]. Through the institutional, policy and politico-psychological innovations, state-building is geared to accommodate diversity and ensure democratic good governance. In this regard, federal governance has the potential to do so as it combines elements of shared-rule and regional self-rule.
