Abstract:
This study aims to understand the development of technology, net exports, and national productivity. This study uses secondary data from world banks and processed regression using the moving average autoregression method. We find that technology is positively related to gross domestic product and net exports is negatively related to the gross domestic product which is an indicator of national productivity. Based on the estimation, technology development or technology investment in Indonesia tends to be import-based so that it suppresses net exports and results in a decrease in net exports in l

<p>This paper proposes that both national productivity and national innovation depend positively on two key variables, the amount of national wealth and the extent of national intelligence. To test these ideas, the paper employs cross country regression analysis on a large set of countries from around the world. Overall, the regression results of the paper lend support to the idea. Empirically, it appears that national productivity is positively related to national wealth and national intelligence, and that national innovation is positively related to national wealth and national innovat

A recent line of research demonstrates that cognitive skills—intelligence quotient scores, math skills, and the like—have only a modest influence on individual wages, but are strongly correlated with national outcomes. Is this largely due to human capital spillovers? This paper argues that the answer is yes. It presents four different channels through which intelligence may matter more for nations than for individuals: (i) intelligence is associated with patience and hence higher savings rates; (ii) intelligence causes cooperation; (iii) higher group intelligence opens the door to using fragil

According to the Keynesian consumption function, Consumption expenditure plays a crucial role in determining the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), as evident in the Absolute Income Hypothesis. This concept has subsequently been used in developing the permanent income hypothesis and the life cycle hypothesis. However, when considering the net national disposable income after accounting for factors like net factor income from abroad, taxes, and subsidies, it becomes clear that final consumption expenditure holds a more dominant position. Abstract:
Simon Anholt believes that national image is as important as productivity or innovation because: “If you want to do well, you have to do good.” This requires changing from a competition- to a cooperation-based global culture. He and Dr. Robert Govers developed the Good Country Index to measure how nations benefit their citizens as well as the planet. The index uses direct and indirect indicators of contributions to the global good, expressed relative to GDP to avoid penalizing poorer countries. Humanity’s future obviously depends on all countries cooperating in creating a better future.

Cambodia’s economy is based largely on the agricultural sector which contributes 33 percent of the national GDP and employs more than 67 percent of the national labour force.
