Natural products of mineral origin (alum, bismuth, calcium, magnesium, silicates and zinc compounds) have maintained their popularity as drugs over the course of time. Some evidence still suggests potential benefit of these substances. Cancer incidence is increasing and novel anticancer drugs with new mechanisms of action are essential for future chemotherapeutic treatment. Natural products have historically played an important role in the development of anti-cancer drugs and have potential to do so also in the future. Initially, in a screening of a compound library for cytotoxic effects in colon cancer cells, natural products with potent activity were identified. Based on their p

How life began on the early earth, as well as how small molecules and ions were first formed at the beginning of the universe are some of the biggest unsolved questions in science that have intrigued researchers over time. However, no clear answers have yet been received for researchers in the fields of cosmology, prebiotic chemistry, interstellar chemistry as well as astrochemistry. From previous studies, it has become clear that the creation of the universe and the origin of life are not the result of any single event. Bottled mineral water has managed to become a commodity and can be found virtually anywhere in the world. However, even if it is a very common and well recognized product, little it is known about its history, about how, when and why it came to be. The origins of bottled water can be found in mid-19th century Europe and America, when spas started selling their waters outside their facilities. However, soon other springs which had not relation with traditional hydrotherapy started bottling their waters as well. Abstract:
The article deals with the philosophical understanding of the social phenomenon of the origin of the state, presented in the works of the pre-revolutionary Russian thinker and conservative publicist K Leontiev. Arguments both confirming and refuting the truth of the proposed concept are studied. It is proved that the Leontiev paradigm is an original interpretation of the organic theory of the origin of the state, which is supported by examples from the natural world and world history.

Abstract:
This paper studies the impact of extreme weather events on the local tax revenue across Colombian municipalities. We follow a two-step approach to evaluate to what extent a municipality’s tax revenue depends on natural disasters taking place both locally and in its trade partners. In the first step, we estimate a gravity model of bilateral trade and construct a trade flow matrix allowing us to measure the strength of the economic relationships between cities. To do so, we build a novel dataset describing the inter-city trade flows for road transported goods in Colombia for the period 2015–2019

It is shown that there is а powerful set of tools for the study of self-organization in complex systems, both natural and artificial origin. They characterize the multidimensional nature of complexity - multifractality, irreversibility, non-linearity, recurrence, nonstability, emeregence, etc., and quantitative evaluation of individual dynamical measures of complexity allows for monitoring, predicting and preventing unwanted critical or crisis. Particular attention is paid to measures of network complexity, which are fully applicable to build synergistic network of pedagogical systems.
