Abstract:
From a small village Wyskok and its surroundings 324 species of Macromycetes are recorded in years 1998–2017. Among the species reported 38 are Polish red-listed mushrooms: rare (23), vulnerable (8), endangered (3), extinct (1) and of indetermined threat (3). Ganoderma lucidum and Polyporus umbellatus are partially protected by law in Poland. At present in the vicinity of the Oświn lake (Nature Reserve of the Seven Islands Lake) 325 species of Macromycetes are known to occur.

In Russia, Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) nests from the western borders of the Kaliningrad region to the Kamchatka Peninsula, Anadyr River basin, Sakhalin Island, southern Kuril Islands, and Japan. The northern border of its distribution runs along the edge of the northern taiga, forested river valleys in the north. During the Project, the breeding population, migration routes, and wintering sites were determined for the first time for Ospreys inhabiting the north of the European part of Russia, south of Central Siberia (Sayano-Shushenski State Nature Reserve), and in Far East (“Magadan” State Na

Velikiy Island is the largest island in Kandalaksha State Nature Reserve (the Reserve). We prepared a check-list of aphyllophoroid fungi of Velikiy Island and the two nearest small islands, including 131 species. Seventy-seven species were recorded in the Reserve for the first time. Byssoporia terrestris, Hyphodontia abieticola, and Hypochnicium multiforme were found in Murmansk Region for the first time. The observations of the three species form the northern limit of their global range. New localities are reported for four Murmansk Region red-listed species (Dichomitus squalens, Hericium cor

Public opposition to culling has generated interest in wildlife management through fertility control. Temporary, non-invasive methods of fertility control, such as by xenobiotics, can be best employed with an understanding of the target species’ breeding cycle. We used head length to calculate the conception date of 136 pouch-young of western grey kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus ocydromus) from four sites around Perth, Western Australia, between May 2006 and October 2008: Thomsons Lake Nature Reserve (n = 80), Harry Waring Marsupial Reserve (n = 11), Melville Glades Golf Club (n = 29), and Mar

Olonetsky Nature Reserve (Zakaznik), located in Southern Karelia, was established in 1986 in an area of 27000 hectares. Surveys have detected 447 species of vascular plants, including 372 (83,2 %) native and 75 (16,8 %) alien ones. The shore dunes and sandy beaches of Lake Ladoga, as well as black alder swamps in depressions between ancient levees harbored the most distinctive flora. Festuca sabulosa, Hypopitys monotropa, Jovibarba globifera, Oenanthe aquatica, and Viola stagnina are red-listed in Karelia; seven more species are in need of monitoring. Abstract:
Every research endeavour must start with closing the information gap about species distribution and biodiversity systematically. Even though enough avifaunal research has been done on the Gulf of Mannar, southeastern India, there have been limited studies about the avifauna from all 21 islands except two. Increasing species occurrence data on distribution from all the islands is highlighted for the future conservation plans for this Important Bird Area. We provide an updated and detailed checklist and distribution of bird groups for all islands individually from a sampling period of 2015–2022.

Based on long-term studies (2004–2023), the data on the distribution of rare and in need of constant monitoring of animal, plant and fungi species in the territory of Bushkovskiy forest State Nature Reserve of regional significance was updated. The Bushkovskiy forest Reserve is located in the Urzhumsky district of the Kirov Region. The territory was not glaciated and retained a dense gully network. There is a hydrological natural monument “Shaitan Lake” within the reserve. Many small rivers flow through the forest. The above Nature Reserve is one of the largest specially protected natural area

Abstract:
The Cat Ba Biosphere Reserve is internationally renowned for its spectacular karst landscape. It covers a large area with hundreds of limestone islands and various ecosystems including caves, tropical forests, and mangroves. However, previous surveys were only conducted in terrestrial ecosystems on Cat Ba Island. Therefore, bats inhabiting mangroves and the remaining islands did not receive attention from scientists up to 2014. To initially fill in the gaps, we conducted ten bat surveys between 2015 and 2020 with an emphasis on mangroves and previously unsurveyed islands. Bats were captured us
