The article is devoted to the study of the origin of the Russian Naval artillery drill regulations (so called exercise) of the era of Peter the Great. Previously only one Russian Naval artillery exercise of the 18th century, introduced by F. M. Apraksin in 1718, was known. The comparison of two printed treatises of D. Grundell (the head of the Swedish Naval artillery in 1712–1716) with the exercise of Apraksin has revealed their obvious similarity. The author has discovered the Russian exercise of the late 1740s. Its analysis enables to prove that in the Russian Navy (at least from 1717 to the

Наиболее ранняя из них (условно названная Старой) действовала с 1718 г. до конца 1740-х гг., затем ее сменила Экзерциция Леймана. Physical fitness is important to the general population, but for naval cadets, achieving a high level of physical fitness may be essential for success in their jobs. The purpose of this review was to summarize the current literature on physical fitness and body composition in naval cadets narratively and examine the effects of training programs on their physical fitness and body composition. The length of time that the personnel is on a ship cannot always be determined. For this reason, cadets must follow an exercise program to increase or maintain their physical condition during their voyages

Abstract:
This paper addresses some of the wider issues in the design process for complex vessels with regards in particular to the design of naval ships and submarines. The presentation is given from the perspective of a British naval constructor, who spent the second half of his career teaching and researching into the design of complex vessels. This is presented to SNAME drawing on parallels with US Navy design practice from the author’s personal involvement in the design history of many of the designs that were built for the Royal Navy. A large number of the author’s publications have not been expos

Abstract:
A two-and-one-half spool gas turbine engine was modeled using the Advanced Computer Simulation Language (ACSL), a high level simulation environment based on FORTRAN. A possible future high efficiency engine for powering naval ships is an intercooled, regenerated (ICR) gas turbine engine and these features were incorporated into the model. Utilizing sophisticated instructions available in ACSL linear state-space models for this engine were obtained. A high level engineering computational language, MATLAB, was employed to exercise these models to obtain optimal feedback controllers characterized

The school operates UH-72A and UH-60L aircraft as core rotary wing platforms used for airborne instruction in performance, flying qualities (FQ) and advanced flight control systems flight testing. The stability and control portion of the syllabus teaches both time and frequency domain flight test techniques in the evaluation of aircraft handling qualities (HQ); however, only classic time domain techniques have been instructed in the a

Following the increasing interest of aero-naval industry to design and build systems that might provide fuel and energy savings, this study wants to point out the possibility to produce an increase in the power output from the prime mover propulsion systems of aircrafts. The complexity of using steam heat recovery systems, as well as the lower expected cycle efficiencies, temperature limitations, toxicity, material compatibilities, and/or costs of organic fluids in Rankine cycle power systems, precludes their consideration as a solution to power improvement for this application in turboprop en

Abstract:
The aim of this present study was to investigate an effect of acute exhaustive and moderate intensities exercises, exercise training and vitamin C supplementation on physiological change and rhinitis symptoms in allergic rhinitis patients. There were two studies: Study I : The subjects, aged18-45 years old, were divided into 2 groups: 14 healthy individuals and 13 allergic rhinitis (AR) patients. They were assigned to perform the strenuous exercise on treadmill by using Bruce protocol until they were exhausted. Two weeks later, they were assigned to perform a moderate exercise by walking on tr
