The Vaisburd and Evdokimov proposed an empirical model to calculate the electron impact single ionization cross-sections of atoms and molecules. The model has been applied to some atoms and molecules. To examine the efficiency of the model, the present work applies the model to calculate cross-sections for Ne-isonuclear series Ne+, Ne2+, Ne3+, Ne4+, Ne5+, Ne6+, Ne7+, Ne8+, Ne9+ . The separate sets of values of the parameters of the model are determined by comparison with the available experimental data using a non-linear least-squares fitting computer code. Il tema delle competenze di scrittura degli studenti universitari ha assunto nel tempo un crescente interesse testimoniato dall’ampio numero di studi e ricerche ad esso dedicati nel panorama scientifico europeo e internazionale. Il contributo presenta una riflessione sul tema attraverso i primi risultati di una ricerca sulla scrittura degli studenti del corso di laurea magistrale in Pedagogia e Scienze dell’educazione e della Formazione della “Sapienza” Università di Roma dall’anno accademico 2011/2012 all’anno accademico 2015/2016. Il punto di partenza teorico è costituito dalla consapevolezza dell’insegnabilità della scrittura e della conseguente importanza del lavoro educativo.Czy studenci umieją pisać? Obserwacje dotyczące cech tekstów pisanych przez studentów włoskich uniwersytetów oraz możliwych strategii dydaktycznychZagadnienie kompetencji studentów w zakresie redakcji tekstów wzbudza coraz większe zainteresowanie zarówno w Europie, jak i poza nią, o czym świadczą liczne poświęcone mu badania. Artykuł przedstawia wnioski z badań prowadzonych od roku akademickiego 2011/2012 do 2015/2016, które dotyczyły prac pisemnych studentów studiów magisterskich kierunku pedagogika oraz nauki o edukacji i kształceniu na Uniwersytecie „La Sapienza” w Rzymie. Tezą, stanowiącą punkt wyjścia dla autorek, jest przekonanie, że kompetencje studentów w zakresie reakcji tekstów mogą być rozwijane oraz że ćwiczenie tego typu umiejętności mogą przynieść znaczące efekty.

Seventy-three species of Lepidoptera described from France since 2000, particularly by Jacques Nel and Thierry Varenne, are re-assessed from largely unpublished molecular data. We tried to obtain DNA barcode sequences from 62 holotypes, supplemented by paratypes of eight species and on one case by non-type material, whereas one previously synonymized species was not sequenced. Altogether we obtained 78 DNA barcode sequences for 65 nominal taxa while sequencing failed for six holotypes. An integrative analysis from molecular data and morphology supports the validity of the majority of species but also resulted in the re-assessment of several taxa. Riassunto: Lo scritto esamina le regole di giurisdizione contenute nel regolamento (UE) n.2016/679 relativo alla protezione delle persone fisiche con riguardo al trattamento dei dati personali, le quali si presentano come strumentali all’obiettivo di garantire una tutela giurisdizionale effettiva dei diritti riconosciuti dal regolamento a favore degli individui titolari dei dati nei confronti dei soggetti responsabili del trattamento dei dati stessi. Tali regole, pur apprezzabili nel loro intento di fornire una disciplina specifica della giurisdizione relativamente alle controversie prese in considerazione, pongono nondimeno alcuni problemi di coordinamento con la disciplina della giurisdizione nelle controversie civil e commerciali come attualmente contenuta nel regolamento (UE) n. 1215/2012 o “Bruxelles I-bis”, i quali non sono adeguatamente affrontati nelle disposizioni del nuovo regolamento.Parole chiave: Giurisdizione; Regolamento (UE) n. 2016/679; Trattamento dei dati personali; Tutela giurisdizionale effettiva; Regolamento (UE) n. 1215/2012 (“Bruxelles I-bis”).Abstract: The present paper addresses the rules on jurisdiction contained in Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 concerning the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data. These rules appear instrumental to the pursuit of the fundamental goal of guaranteeing an effective judicial protection of the rights granted to individuals as concerns the processing of their personal data against those subjects who are responsible for the said processing. In Calabria, il Tordo bottaccio Turdus philomelos si riproduce solo nei settori settentrionali e centrali della Regione (i.e. Pollino, Orsomarso e Sila), mentre in provincia di Reggio Calabria la nidificazione non è mai stata accertata e le osservazioni risultano scarse e concentrate esclusivamente nei periodi migratori. Durante due successive stagioni riproduttive (2015-2016), abbiamo osservato N=16 individui di T. philomelos a differenti altitudini (min 630 m, max 1,838 m a.s.l.) prevalentemente nei boschi di latifoglie decidue mesofile. Sono stati utilizzati la modalità del “distance sampling” eseguendo un transetto a piedi ed altre 3 diverse tecniche di campionamento “point-count” per stimare la presenza della specie nel Parco Nazionale dell’Aspromonte. Con questo lavoro, abbiamo accertato per la prima volta la nidificazione del T. philomelos nel Parco Nazionale dell’Aspromonte e nella provincia di Reggio Calabria. In futuro, con l’incremento dell’area di investigazione, si potrà quantificare in modo più accurato il numero di coppie nidificanti e la loro distribuzione su scala regionale.

AbstractThe objective of the present study was to develop and characterize nano-ethanolic liposomes (NEL) for transdermal delivery of ibuprofen (IBU). The NEL for transdermal delivery of IBU were prepared by thin film hydration technique and evaluated for vesicle size, shape, entrapment efficiency, transdermal flux, andin vivoanti-inflammatory activity in Wistar rats. The NEL optimized formulation (NEL-Opt) presented vesicle sizes of 32.85±1.98 nm and entrapment efficiency of 86.40±0.55% with improved transdermal flux. The presence of ethanol and flexibility of NEL could be the reasons for better permeation enhancement of IBU via rat’s skin.In vivoanti-inflammatory study of IBU-loaded NEL-Opt gel showed significant reduction (41.18%) of edema in carrageenan-induced rat paw edema as compared to conventional gel of IBU, where reduction of edema was found to be 12.50%. Our results suggest that developed NEL formulations are efficient systems for transdermal IBU delivery against inflammation. The stability study confirmed that the NEL-Opt gel formulation was considerably stable at refrigerator temperature. Our results concluded that NEL are an efficient carrier for transdermal delivery of IBU.

Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate statistical differences with MR perfusion imaging features that reflect the dynamics of Gadolinium-uptake in MS lesions using dynamic texture parameter analysis (DTPA).Methods. We investigated 51 MS lesions (25 enhancing, 26 nonenhancing lesions) of 12 patients. Enhancing lesions (n=25) were prestratified into enhancing lesions with increased permeability (EL+;n=11) and enhancing lesions with subtle permeability (EL−;n=14). Histogram-based feature maps were computed from the raw DSC-image time series and the corresponding texture parameters were analyzed during the inflow, outflow, and reperfusion time intervals.Results. Significant differences (p<0.05) were found between EL+ and EL− and between EL+ and nonenhancing inactive lesions (NEL). Main effects between EL+ versus EL− and EL+ versus NEL were observed during reperfusion (mainly in mean and standard deviation (SD): EL+ versus EL− and EL+ versus NEL), while EL− and NEL differed only in their SD during outflow.Conclusion. DTPA allows grading enhancing MS lesions according to their perfusion characteristics. Texture parameters of EL− were similar to NEL, while EL+ differed significantly from EL− and NEL. Dynamic texture analysis may thus be further investigated as noninvasive endogenous marker of lesion formation and restoration.

Una svolta nella ricerca sulla storia della psicoanalisi in Russia fu rappresentata dal libro di Alek-sandr Etkind Eros dell'impossibile, pubblicato in russo nel 1993, presto tradotto in varie lingue, e rivisto nel 2016 (versione sulla quale è stata condotta la traduzione italiana, apparsa nel 2020). A differenza degli studi precedenti, Etkind ebbe accesso agli archivi sovietici che erano stati aperti agli studiosi alla fine degli anni 1980 e poté così ricostruire il contesto sociale e politico che, prima e dopo la Rivoluzione bolscevica, aveva favorito lo sviluppo della psicoanalisi in Russia fino alla fine degli anni 1920. Nel libro era ampiamente illustrato il rapporto stretto tra la psicoanalisi e la cultura letteraria e filosofica in Russia nei primi due decenni del Novecento, un tema che era stato trascurato dagli studi occidentali, circoscritti alla storia della diffusione della psicoanalisi essen-zialmente dal punto di vista teorico.

Con il presente lavoro di tesi si intende studiare il mercato dei gioielli del XIX secolo. Dopo aver descritto le caratteristiche dei gioielli nel corso delle varie decadi del XIX secolo e aver approfondito le peculiarità del mercato dei gioielli e la sua evoluzione nel corso degli anni, lo studio procede con l'analisi delle quotazioni che i gioielli del XIX secolo hanno ottenuto durante le aste svoltesi presso le case d'asta Christie's, Sotheby's, Dorotheum e Bonhams, durante l'intervallo temporale 2016-2018.

E’ proprio dalla disamina storica riguardante il concetto stesso di sostenibilità e di sviluppo sostenibile, le discussioni e i trattati a livello internazionale che inizia questo lavoro, che ha come obiettivo ultimo quello di fare il punto sulla rendicontazione in ambito non finanziario all’interno del sistema bilancio, in Italia obbligatoria per alcune imprese ed gruppi di grandi dimensioni a partire dal 2017. Gli ultimi paragrafi del primo capitolo, riprendendo le priorità definite dall’ultimo importante documento pubblicato sul tema della sostenibilità rappresentato dall’Agenda 2030 e i suoi 17 Sustainable Development Goals, vuole fornire una breve panoramica sui dati odierni legati ai fondamenti dello sviluppo sostenibile e all’azioni che stanno trasformando l’ambito finanziario per aumentare l’attenzione e la consapevolezza verso le tematiche ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance). I successivi capitoli approcciano il tema andando ad approfondire a livello micro le problematiche analizzate in precedenza, individuando nelle imprese il vero motore del cambiamento, capaci con le loro azioni di spingere la politica ed i cittadini ad intraprendere più velocemente e nella maniera più concreta possibile i target previsti dall’Agenda 2030. Per potere intraprendere un processo serio di cambiamento è necessario partire dalla rendicontazione dei dati, che per quanto riguarda le tematiche di carattere non finanziario deve unire dati sia tipo quantitativa che, spesso, di tipo qualitativo. L’analisi del secondo capitolo si contrerà principalmente sull’utilizzo degli standard promossi dalla Global Reporting Iniziative e dello schema di report integrato sviluppato dall’IRCC che rappresentano i due più recenti e sviluppati modalità di rendicontazione in ambito non finanziario. Il focus di questo lavoro è rappresentato dal terzo capitolo, tramite l’introduzione e l’analisi del decreto legislativo n.254 del 30 dicembre 2016 che, recependo quanto richiesto dalla direttiva 2014/95/UE del Parlamento Europeo introduce, nel contesto italiano, l’obbligatorietà della rendicontazione sulle tematiche di carattere non finanziario e sulla diversità per alcune imprese e gruppi di grandi dimensioni. Una breve disamina sarà effettuata su come la direttiva europea sopracitata sia stata recepita all’interno del sistema legislativo spagnolo e francese, in un’ottica di integrazione dei sistemi di reporting a livello europeo. Infine, l’ultimo capitolo, vuole avere una valenza più applicativa, per capire a livello pratico come la rendicontazione obbligatoria prevista del decreto 254/2016 venga applicata dalle imprese. L’analisi ricade su quattro diverse imprese, due Società per Azioni quotate in borsa e due aziende che sono considerate Enti Pubblici di Interesse Rilevante e per questo obbligate a procedere con la rendicontazione delle informazioni di carattere non finanziario. La scelta del settore dell’energia è stata fatta poiché il tema di un’energia più pulita e rinnovabile è centrale per il raggiungimento di tutti gli obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile previsti dall’Agenda 2030.

In questo elaborato il punto di partenza è stata l'azienda nella sua accezione "classica" o economico-finanziaria e che ha influenzato i documenti contabili di bilancio e i principali metodi di valutazione. Sono state, poi, sviluppate, secondo un criterio temporale, le due maggiori "correnti" attraverso le quali si è cercato di andare oltre la prospettiva classica: la responsabilità e la sostenibilità di impresa. Sono state, quindi, definite le informazioni non finanziarie e le più importanti teorie a sostegno della loro rendicontazione. E in relazione a ciò, in un contesto di stakeholder sempre più attenti ad esse, si è posto l'accento sulla finanza sostenibile. La fonte maggiore di informazioni non finanziarie per il contesto esterno all'azienda è la dichiarazione non finanziaria. Si è approfondita la normativa in materia e mi sono soffermato sui principali aspetti del decreto che disciplinano la dichiarazione. Oggetto di ulteriore analisi è stata la relazione sulla gestione, che può contenere le informazioni oggetto della dichiarazione. Nell'ultima parte della tesi, ho voluto trattare nel loro funzionamento le due metodologie di rendicontazione non finanziaria più utilizzate, fornite dal Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) e dall'International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC). Infine, sono stati evidenziati i principali impatti del decreto e l'avvento della nuova disciplina, sempre di derivazione comunitaria.

Parallelamente ai contratti di credito al consumo, la Commissione europea ha monitorato nel corso degli anni i comportamenti degli operatori finanziari nella stipulazione di contratti di credito per l’acquisto di beni immobili residenziali. Al termine dei vari studi, il Parlamento europeo ed il Consiglio hanno emanato il 4 febbraio 2014, la nuova Direttiva 2014/17/UE592, volta sia a disciplinare contratti di credito ai consumatori stipulati per l’acquisto di beni immobili residenziali attraverso la predisposizione di rimedi volti ad evitare una concessione irresponsabile dei creditori per l’acquisto di tali beni (apportando anche alcune modifiche alla precedente direttiva n. 2008/48/CE, relativa ai contratti di credito ai consumatori).Attraverso la direttiva n.17/2014 il legislatore europeo abbiamo visto come abbia inteso armonizzare alcuni aspetti della disciplina dei contratti di credito al consumatore che siano assistiti da diritti di garanzia su beni immobili residenziali o finalizzati all’acquisto o al mantenimento del diritto di proprietà su beni immobili. L’intervento del legislatore comunitario si inserisce tra quelli di “armonizzazione minima”, nonostante contenga disposizioni che limitino gli Stati membri in ordine alla possibilità di introdurre o mantenere disposizioni divergenti: si pensi ad esempio alla disciplina relativa al calcolo del tasso annuo effettivo globale e a quella concernente le informazioni precontrattuali personalizzate da fornirsi mediante il prospetto informativo europeo standardizzato. La tipologia di beni oggetto della direttiva, sono generalmente acquistati all’interno delle famiglie, ma a differenza di quelli di consumo, hanno un valore economico di gran lunga superiore che quindi porta spesso i consumatori, non aventi disponibilità economiche così importanti, a stipulare presso gli appositi istituti di credito, contratti volti all’acquisto, e si è posto pertanto per questi contratti l’esigenza di garantire una erogazione di credito responsabile ed in favore di soggetti meritevoli. Si è evidenziato come la direttiva mutui abbia predisposto una disciplina più rigida, rispetto a quella presente nella direttiva sul credito ai consumatori n.48/2008/Ce per l’acquisto di beni di consumo, volta favorire da un lato il responsible borrowing, dall’altro il responsible lending. Per quanto riguarda la disciplina del responsible borrowing vi è, infatti, da un lato, in sede pubblicitaria un ampliamento delle informazioni volte a promuovere sia l’istituto di credito, che i prodotti finanziari disponibili sul mercato a chiunque abbia interesse a stipulare un contratto di credito; dall’altro, vi è in sede precontrattuale una migliore erogazione d’informazioni al consumatore-cliente, informazioni che vengono fornite attraverso un modulo informativo personalizzato alle preferenze e condizioni economiche del consumatore (Considerando 41).In merito alla disciplina del responsible lending sono state previste, invece, disposizioni più rigide e chiare per quanto riguarda la valutazione del merito creditizio e le sue ripercussioni sul rapporto obbligatorio. La disciplina del responsible borrowing, all’interno della c.d. “direttiva mutui”, si è evidenziato come si caratterizzi per una graduale erogazione d’informazioni che inizia da un ambito generale standardizzato, svincolato da una contrattazione vera e propria con un consumatore determinato (all’informazione pubblicitaria sono dedicati gli artt. 11 12 alle informazioni generali l’art. 13), fino ad una qualificata personalizzata serie d’informazioni dirette al consumatore specifico (all’informazione precontrattuale è dedicato l’art. 14), contrassegnate dalla bi-direzionalità circolarità delle notizie fornite da un lato, dal finanziatore, dall’altro dal consumatore. Queste informazioni, sono tutte fornite in modo che il consumatore possa giungere ad una decisione informata, attraverso sia il confronto tra le offerte di credito disponibili sul mercato, sia una valutazione delle diverse implicazioni che possono conseguire una volta stipulato il contratto. Abbiamo analizzato, la prima tranche d’informazioni: informazioni pubblicitarie e generali sono erogate a fini meramente conoscitivi e pubblicitari ad un numero indeterminato di soggetti. Dalla lettura del nuovo d.lsg. 72/2016 è emerso come molte questioni non siano in realtà state risolte, in particolare la scelta di riportarsi fedelmente al contenuto della direttiva, senza aggiungere nulla e senza integrare alcun passaggio, ha fatto si che non si affrontassero determinati temi quali il recesso, il collegamento contrattuale nell’ambito dei contratti di credito immobiliari, o soprattutto le conseguenze derivanti dalla mancata o inadeguata o errata valutazione del merito creditizio da parte del professionista. Proprio quest’ultimo passaggio relativo al non aver affrontato in termini di conseguenze i casi derivanti dalla mancata o inadeguata o errata valutazione del merito creditizio da parte del professionista ha portato a delle riflessioni. La direttiva non avendo individuato rimedi specifici nel caso di violazione degli obblighi di informazione, neppure in merito alle responsabilità del finanziatore o del consumatore, ha rimesso agli Stati membri il compito di definire in sede di recepimento “sanzioni efficaci, proporzionate e dissuasive”. Non sono quindi mancati autori che hanno elaborato delle ipotesi in riferimento alle conseguenze in caso di violazione degli obblighi di informazione; in relazione alla disciplina delle informazioni generali, quelle quindi rivolte ad un pubblico indeterminato e ancora estraneo ad una possibile contrattazione, laddove queste informazioni dovessero risultare lacunose o fuorvianti, si è ipotizzata l’applicabilità della disciplina delle pratiche commerciali scorrette di cui all’art.20 del codice del consumo e, quindi, della tutela amministrativa di cui agli artt. 21-23 -27 del Codice del Consumo. Qualora poi, tali informazioni siano falsate e determinino un comportamento del consumatore interessato che non si sarebbe verificato nel caso in cui tali informazioni fossero state veritiere, si potrebbe ipotizzare un vizio del consenso sanzionabile con l’annullamento del contratto stesso. Concretamente, tuttavia, non è sempre facile giungere ad una soluzione simile, laddove soprattutto la conclusione del contratto è sempre mediata dall’erogazione delle informazioni personalizzate secondo il disposto di cui all’art. 14 della direttiva, che riguardano sì i medesimi aspetti oggetto delle informazioni generali, ma che li espongono in modo molto più dettagliato e finalizzato. Ecco, quindi, che se l’informazione personalizzata è integra e completa e corrisponde poi all’operazione che effettivamente si conclude, sembra difficile o quanto meno forzato poter sostenere che il contratto concluso sia annullabile per via delle scorrette informazioni generali che si ritiene possano aver viziato il consenso del consumatore in fase anteriore a quella precontrattuale. Qualora le, invece, le informazioni scorrette siano fornite in sede precontrattuale attraverso il modulo personalizzato e creino uno sviamento del comportamento economico del consumatore, si ritiene che esse possano realmente allora aver inciso sulla volontà del contrante, viziandone il consenso. In ultima analisi, si dà il caso in cui si determini una discordanza tra i costi indicati in sede di informazioni generali e quelli rinvenuti nel Pies; in tal caso sarebbe applicabile nel nostro ordinamento la disciplina delle informazioni pubblicitarie di cui all’art. 116 e 117 del T.u.b., secondo cui il contenuto del contratto può si discostarsi ma solo in melius dal contenuto presente nelle informazioni pubblicitarie. In questi casi si avrà, quindi, la nullità delle clausole contrattuali che prevedevano condizioni economiche meno favorevoli in sede pubblicitaria e la sostituzione automatica con le clausole più favorevoli, che quindi vadano a ripristinare lo squilibrio che si è determinato. Qualora poi l’inesattezza delle informazioni generali abbia determinato la mancata conclusione del contratto, il consumatore si ritiene che possa appellarsi alla violazione dell’art.1337 c.c., ovvero alla configurabilità di una responsabilità precontrattuale del professionista, lamentando un danno nell’aver fatto affidamento nelle condizioni economiche esposte all’interno delle informazioni generali riguardati quei determinati prodotti, informazioni che poi si sono rivelate fuorvianti in sede di informazioni personalizzate. Nel caso in cui, invece, il contratto sia concluso in assenza di consegna del Pies o con l’erogazione di un Pies mancante delle parti che riguardano la spiegazione di alcuni contenuti economici essenziali del contratto, in entrambi i casi si ritiene che si possa ipotizzare la violazione degli obblighi informativi personalizzati che comporta un’estensione del termine di recesso ci cui all’art. 125-bis e ter del cod.cons. Si è palesa dunque, la cautela del legislatore europeo e di quello italiano nel pronunciarsi in merito alla responsabilità del consumatore che del professionista e nel prevedere sanzioni in merito a tali comportamenti. La scelta prudente è sicuramente dettata anche dalla delicatezza della materia che si affronta. Se infatti si caricasse di eccessivi oneri in termini di informazione, la figura del finanziatore, si potrebbe avere come effetto quello di un comportamento difensivo e soprattutto di diffidenza dello stesso qualora voglia concedere il credito, con inevitabile danneggiamento per il consumatore che non sarebbe incoraggiato alla stipulazione responsabile di tali contratti e, quindi, un danneggiamento per il mercato in generale. Se, d’altra parte si caricasse di eccessivi oneri il consumatore, questo comporterebbe una disciplina oltremodo severa per lo stesso, dimenticando che è invece il soggetto debole che deve essere tutelato, dove invece il professionista sarebbe esageratamente tutelato, potendo erogare finanziamenti senza considerare la figura e gli interessi del consumatore. Si può comunque evidenziare che, nonostante le difficoltà del legislatore europeo e nazionale, gli strumenti interpretativi presenti nel nostro ordinamento se coordinati con le norme di derivazione europea, possono prospettare dei margini di tutela ulteriore per il consumatore, avendo come guida il principio di buona fede nella fase delle trattative e nella conclusione del contratto. L’assenza nel nostro ordinamento di un apposito sistema rimediale, che faccia discendere dalle ipotesi di violazione di un obbligo informativo una sanzione tipica, fa si che la ricerca della soluzione è inevitabilmente lasciata all’interprete. Orbene, in un contesto del genere, la dottrina (ma anche, come visto in precedenza, la giurisprudenza) si è sbizzarrita dando vita ad un ventaglio di ipotesi, da taluno definito come l’“ambaradan dei rimedi contrattuali”. Ecco dunque che si è dedicato ampio spazio a quello che è il dibattito nazionale tra regole di validità e regole di correttezza, fino alla pronuncia delle SS.UU del 2007, e i risvolti in termini degli effetti che la violazione delle regole di comportamento possono provocare su un contratto valido ma tuttavia sconveniente. Da questo spunto, e per approcciarsi ad una soluzione di quella che è la violazione degli obblighi precontrattuali in senso stretto, in omessa valutazione del merito creditizio, o nelle patologie del Pies, si è analizzata la disciplina interne e si è ipotizzata l’applicabilità della teoria dei vizi incompleti. Funzione della teoria dei c.d. vizi incompleti potrebbe perciò rinvenirsi nell’esigenza di evitare che la disciplina dell’invalidità negoziale possa venire facilmente elusa da soggetti che, furbamente, utilizzino tali limiti per concludere contratti con assetti di interessi fortemente squilibrati e pur tuttavia validi; e per fungere da guida per gli operatori del diritto al fine di cristallizzare la nuova fattispecie della responsabilità precontrattuale in caso di contratto valido, ma sconveniente. Inoltre, gran parte della dottrina propende a escludere il ricorso al rimedio invalidante sulla scorta di un’importante pronuncia delle Sezioni Unite della Corte di Cassazione risalente al 2007, concernente i contratti di investimento e la violazione degli obblighi informativi. Al di là dell’oggetto specifico della controversia, queste sentenze sono particolarmente importanti per l’innovazione che hanno apportato nell’ordinamento sul tema del rapporto fra regole di validità e di responsabilità in caso di violazione degli obblighi di buona fede nella fase delle trattative. L’elaborazione della teorica dei c.d. vizi incompleti ha svolto un’opera di “traino” ai fini dell’avvicinamento delle due discipline (quella precontrattuale e quella relativa al sistema delle invalidità negoziali), portando con sé notevoli conseguenze, anche sul piano giurisprudenziale, tralatiziamente ancorato ad interpretazioni riduttive della normativa precontrattuale. Per quanto attiene più nel dettagli alla violazione dell’obbligo di valutazione del merito creditizio, abbiamo avuto modo di constare che già la direttiva sul credito al consumo 2008/48/Ce aveva introdotto l’esecuzione della verifica della solvibilità del consumatore/ debitore non aveva regolato le conseguenze dell’eventuale inadempimento di questo obbligo, per cui all’art.23 della direttiva in linea con quanto previsto dal considerando n.47, si limitava a rimettere agli Stati membri la definizione di sanzioni che fossero “efficaci, proporzionate e dissuasive” per punire la violazione delle disposizioni nazionali in materia di credito al consumo. Tuttavia la discrezionalità lasciata al legislatore nazione difficilmente si coordinava con l’obiettivo di armonizzazione massima a livello europeo. Lo stesso legislatore italiano non aveva ritenuto di intervenire per determinare le conseguenze sanzionatorie dell’omessa valutazione del merito creditizio da parte del finanziatore che, quindi dipenderanno dalla normativa da parte dei giudici nazionali, attraverso il ricorso ai rimedi civilistici esistenti. Corre l’obbligo precisare che se è vero che il nostro sistema civilistico non preveda il divieto di erogare il finanziamento qualora la capacità restitutoria del consumatore risultasse negativa, essendo pacificamente ammessi sia da parte di dottrina che di giurisprudenza la piena validità dei contratti stipulati in tale contesto, tuttavia, l’importanza della valutazione si ravvisa laddove la sua violazione comporti un effetto negativo sul consumatore sicuramente importante; lo stesso infatti dopo la concessione del credito confidando sulla propria capacità di sostenere il piano di rimborso, affidandosi alla valutazione che il finanziatore avrebbe dovuto eseguire prima dell’erogazione, si ritrova in realtà in uno stato di futura insolvenza. Un comportamento scorretto del finanziatore sia che non effettui la preventiva verifica del merito creditizio, sia che conceda il finanziamento in presenza di una valutazione dall’esito negativo, avrà come conseguenza l’erogazione al consumatore di un credito eccessivo rispetto alla sua capacità restitutoria e, a ragione di ciò, potrebbe non riuscire a rispettare gli impegni assunti. Nonostante la mancanza di una specifica disposizione sul punto, la dottrina ha ritenuto opportuno tutelare il consumatore prevedendo che il mancato rispetto da parte del finanziatore di un obbligo di condotta determini la possibilità di poter agire per ottenere un risarcimento danni, in quanto non ha ricevuto tutte le informazioni necessarie per potere giungere ad una decisione ponderata e ciò l’ha portato a contrarre un debito non sostenibile. Può quindi concludersi considerando che seppure la direttiva mutui si sia inserita in un contesto tentando di colmarne lacune, alla luce soprattutto di un’armonizzazione massina in aspetti che se lasciati ai singoli Stati, avrebbero comportato un eccessivo divario di tutela, è proprio in quell’ambito dove avrebbe dovuto spingersi oltre che in realtà si arresta. La tutela del contraente debole, soprattutto nella fase precontrattuale, in termini di “rimedi” per violazioni da parte dell’operatore del credito, sembra essere ancora ancorata alle soluzioni domestiche dei singoli Stati che si trovano quindi a far fronte a recepimenti di direttive che seppure, come è, sono finalizzate alla massima tutela del consumatore, tralasciano poi quello che è l’aspetto dove concretamente si dovrebbe attuare questa tutela, ovvero la fase esecutiva.

Questo elaborato analizza le particolarità del linguaggio politico partendo dai resoconti stenografici dell’Assemblea della Camera dei deputati di novembre e dicembre 2016. Dopo aver introdotto la struttura delle sedute dell’Assemblea per comprendere il genere di evento comunicativo in cui i discorsi hanno luogo, l’analisi vera e propria inizia con l’esame del ruolo del Presidente e di come il suo modo di esprimersi sia profondamente legato alla prassi stabilita dal Regolamento della Camera. Successivamente sono analizzati aspetti dei discorsi quali i modi di dire, i forestierismi e le espressioni usate ripetutamente dai deputati, qui chiamati “futuri plastismi”. È poi prestata particolare attenzione alle scelte linguistiche dei deputati, considerando: l’uso dei pronomi personali soggetto (io, noi, voi e l’impersonale); le occorrenze di alcuni gli avverbi; e l’uso di alcune locuzioni preposizionali. Infine, questo elaborato affronta la questione della comunicazione conflittuale alla Camera dei deputati e di come questa influenzi le scelte linguistiche dei partecipanti, spiegando come affermazioni ironiche e modi di dire abbiano un’importante ruolo nella gestione del conflitto, concludendo con alcune considerazioni che “tireranno le somme” delle osservazioni fatte, descrivendo un discorso politico “tipo” di fine 2016. Lo scopo di questa tesi, al termine di un corso di laurea magistrale in interpretazione, è di fare chiarezza su alcuni fenomeni tipici del linguaggio politico che possono rendere i discorsi complessi da interpretare.

Questo lavoro di tesi analizza le variazione planimetriche del canale attivo non arginato dei Fiumi Sillaro (dominio Liguride) e Santerno (Formazione Marnoso-Arenacea) nel periodo 2016-2020. I dati planimetrici sono stati ottenuto tramite mappatura in ambiente GIS su orto-immagini degli anni 2016, 2017, 2018 e 2020. Le variazioni di ampiezza dell'alveo attivo sono state valutate in relazione al grado di confinamento laterale e all'idrometria registrata presso le stazioni di Castel S. Pietro Terme (Sillaro) e Imola (Sillaro). I risultati mostrano una relazione diretta tra entità dei picchi idrometrici e ampliamento dell'aveo attivo. Questo si registra in particolare nei tratti non confinati del Fiume Sillaro, nel periodo 2018-2020, bienno caratterizzato dai maggiori picchi idrometrici. La presenza di opere idrauliche trasversali limita fortemente la divagazione laterale dell'alveo attivo, sia in termini assoluti, che di variazione temporale.

In questa tesi vengono approfonditi i contenuti della relazione sulla gestione e della dichiarazione non finanziaria, con particolare attenzione alle informazioni sul personale e sull'ambiente. Dopo qualche nozione generale sulla relazione sulla gestione, ho approfondito i contenuti previsti dall'articolo 2428 del Codice Civile. In seguito all'emanazione del Decreto Legislativo numero 254 del 30/12/2016 (che recepisce la direttiva europea 2014/95/UE), gli enti di interesse pubblico rilevanti sono tenuti a presentare una dichiarazione non finanziaria. Ho analizzato tutti i dodici articoli di tale decreto e le disposizioni del regolamento attuativo emanato il 18/01/2018 dalla commissione nazionale per le società e la borsa. Le società sono libere di presentare la dichiarazione non finanziaria seguendo lo standard di rendicontazione che preferiscono o adottando una metodologia autonoma di rendicontazione. In questo elaborato vengono approfonditi solo gli standard emanati dal Global Reporting Initiative e dall’International Integrated Reporting Council. In seguito all'integrazione delle informazioni non finanziarie con le informazioni finanziarie contenute nel bilancio d'esercizio, ci si sta orientando sempre più verso il bilancio integrato. Nell’ultimo capitolo vengono analizzate le implicazioni dell’integrated thinking ed i vantaggi che scaturiscono dall’uso della reportistica integrata.

Questo elaborato propone una riflessione sul panorama contemporaneo della danza in Russia, ricostruito attraverso le pagine della rivista bimestrale "Balet", unica rivista del settore riconosciuta a livello statale. Lo scopo dell’elaborato è quello di analizzare i cambiamenti avvenuti tra gli anni 1996 e 2016 nel mondo della danza, in particolare nell'ambito della danza classica e contemporanea, e di presentare i problemi insorti negli stessi anni a causa di una difficoltà di sintesi tra tradizione e innovazione, legata anche allo sviluppo della società contemporanea. Nella prima parte dell’elaborato viene presentata la rivista "Balet", contestualizzandone la nascita e lo sviluppo fino ad arrivare al giorno d’oggi. Il primo e secondo capitolo sono dedicati alle due tendenze principali riscontrabili nel mondo della danza: da un lato, la progressiva affermazione dello stile contemporaneo nel repertorio dei teatri e nelle competizioni; dall'altro, la necessità sempre più urgente di conservare la cosiddetta «eredità classica». La riflessione si chiude con un capitolo dedicato ai problemi derivanti da una difficile convivenza nel panorama della danza russo tra tradizione e innovazione.

If the concept of time-space, associated to the travel, usually refers to a space-temporal changing from a subject, the aim of this work is to reflect on the possibility to use the same concept for a different process, that involves space and time in other positions regarding to the subject, or else the physical immobility and the research during the time. In the last years some famous Brazilian novels deal not only with actual themes, but they find again their present origins in places cancelled by the urban palimpsest: the senzalas and the slavery live again in the echos of very different works as Becos da memória by Conceição Evaristo (2006), Passageiro do fim do dia by Rubens Figueiredo (2010), and O amor dos homens avulsos by Victor Heringer (2016).

Work personalization within cognitive capitalism (Alessandrini 2013) demands universities to certify competences that can promote new forms of employability (Boffo, Federighi, Torlone 2015), connected to global network innovation (Steiner et al. 2013). Personal entrepreneurship becomes the heuristic promoter of career changes (Federighi, Torlone 2013). This enables individuals to ask new questions, to provide innovative solutions, and to create endeavours that can extend the current limits of knowledge, or define new ones (Costa 2014). Methodology: The research analysed variables and, by doing so, strengthened entrepreneurial competence (Morselli, Costa 2015; Costa, Strano 2016) from an enabling perspective, involving more than one hundred people going through a career change (Sen 2000). Based on a mixed method (Ponce, Pagán-Maldonado 2015) the research was developed over four phases: 1) Self-assessment (Pittaway, Edwards 2012) of entrepreneurial attitudes; 2) Recognition (Federighi 2014) of emerging competences from global innovation networks; 3) Reflective thinking (Mortari 2003) and switching in terms of awareness (Mezirow 2003); 4) Capability (Sen 2006) of opportunities and resources for the instigation of entrepreneurial action (Costa Strano 2016). Results: The data observed show that during career changes the development of competences is positively linked to age, education, and experience, above all when combined with enabling processes. As for entrepreneurship, training contexts in the service industry prove strategic, even if still too focused solely on the technical-informative dimension. Furthermore, the results show that entrepreneurial training (Pittaway, Edwards 2012) becomes competence that can promote action starting from resources/opportunities in various career changes (Costa 2014)

Abstract The definitions of genera and subgenera used in the classification of the Dacini have been in a continual state of change for over a century. The early definitions were based on often homoplasious morphological characters, some examples for the Oriental and Australian regions being Tryon (1927), Perkins (1937), Hardy (1951), May (1951) and Drew (1972). More recently revised subgeneric definitions for most species groups were published by Drew and Hancock (2016) and Hancock and Drew (2006, 2015, 2016, 2017a,b,c,d,e, 2018a,b,c, 2019), based on detailed analyses of dacine biogeography, host plant biology and morphology. This chapter discusses the evolutionary origins of the Dacini, the host plant and its influence on speciation in the Dacini.

Abstract Large numbers of dacine specimens were collected throughout Papua New Guinea by trapping and host fruit sampling. Steinertype fruit fly traps, baited with cue lure, methyl eugenol or vanillylacetone (zingerone), were set in many localities over a wide range of ecosystems. In most cases, the traps were serviced on 2-week cycles for at least 1 year. Samples of rainforest and cultivated fruits were collected in some provinces. All specimens collected were preserved in a dry state and sent to R.A.I. Drew at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia, for microscopic identification and curation. Data and photographs of Bactrocera longicornis were received from the Museum Nationale d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris, France. The subgeneric classification used herein follows Drew and Hancock (2016) and Hancock and Drew (2006, 2015, 2016, 2017a,b,c,d,e, 2018a,b,c, 2019).

AbstractTechnological change has always played a role in shaping human progress. From the power loom to the mobile phone, new technologies have continuously influenced how social and economic activities are organized—sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. Agricultural technologies, for example, have increased the efficiency of agricultural production and catalyzed the restructuring of economies (Bustos et al., 2016). At the same time, these innovations have degraded the environment and, in some cases, fueled inequality (Foster and Rosenzweig, 2008; Pingali, 2012). Information technology has played a catalytic role in social development, enabling collective action and inclusive political movements (Enikolopov et al., 2020; Manacorda & Tesei, 2020); yet it has also fueled political violence and perhaps even genocide (Pierskalla & Hollenbach, 2013; Fink, 2018).

AbstractResearch and development in the last decades have led to a silicon process that has been expected to become inherently undependable in the near future when migrating towards new technologies. The special priority program (SPP) 1500 funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) in 2010–2016 and the Variability Expedition funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2010–2015 made a joint effort to explore design challenges of Power Consumption, Reliability, Interference, and Manufacturability under such a design requirement.

Abstract In recent years, Latvia has established itself as one of the top two countries with the most intensive emigration among EU/EFTA member states. This chapter starts by describing the demographic context and the scale of emigration post-2000, followed by a brief history of the main population flows (migration, refugees and deportation) from and to Latvia in the twentieth century. It then offers a more detailed analysis of emigration during the first 15 years of the twenty-first century including a closer look at the four waves of recent emigration: (i) the pre-EU accession wave, 2000–2003; (ii) the post-accession wave, 2004–2008; (iii) the crisis-driven wave, 2009–2010; and (iv) the post-crisis wave, 2011–2016. For each wave, description of the economic and social context is given within a conceptual framework using insights from human capital theory, the new economic theory of migration, network theory and migration systems theory. Institutional factors are also emphasised. Together with some survey-based evidence, this leads to a set of hypotheses about the nature of the four emigration waves. Our own compilation of data from receiving countries (which reveals problems with Latvia’s official migration statistics) is used for documenting the dynamics of the scale and main destinations of this emigration. Empirical analysis of the changes in the reasons for and intended duration of emigration, its effects on the structure and demographic potential of the population and changes in emigrant profiles and selectivity with respect to human capital and ethnicity is based on a number of independent data sources, including the Latvian Labour Force Survey (2000–2015), the Database of Immigrants in OECD Countries (DIOC 2010/2011), and The Emigrant Communities of Latvia survey conducted worldwide in 2014.

Abstract This chapter gives a selected appraisal of garden tourism around the world in terms of garden numbers, number of visitors, and growth. It updates numbers and development of garden tourism and contains a brief appraisal of how garden tourism has grown, or not grown, in the prior five years.

ABSTRACT This paper investigates the destruction of capital held by FIRE-retirees in the US stock- market as represented by the S&P500 index during the coronavirus market-crash. The performance of a lumpsum of $1,000,000 invested by retirees at the end of each year from 2009 to 2019 were calculated using 4% inflation adjusted withdrawal rates. Findings suggest that at the low point of March 23, 2020 the retirees of the first 4 years (2009 till 2012) using 4% inflation adjusted withdrawals all had their initial $1,000,000 capital plus growth. (Highest positive balance: 2009, $1,485,574, increase of 48.6%. Lowest positive balance: 2012, $1,282,147, increase 28.2%). All retirees from the end of 2013 had their initial $1,000,000 investment decreased to below initial capital (Lowest negative balance: 2019, $692,500, decrease 30.75%). Despite 4% inflation adjusted withdrawals, the longer the retirement period the more likely to experience net capital growth. The investigation also revealed the effect of 0% or negative returns during the beginning years of an investment. Some $1,000,000 investments made in earlier years (2010, 2014 and 2017) ending in lower balances than investments made in the next year (2011, 2015 and 2018). The Baza and Galera faults are two active geologic structures located in the central area of the Betic Cordillera (Southern Spain). The goal of our research is to constrain the activity of this faults from high quality GPS measurements to obtain precise deformation rates. In 2008 a GPS survey – mode network was installed to monitor this area. In previous works, we presented a velocity field based on the analysis of some GPS campaigns. Here we show the new results computed from nine GPS campaigns in the timespan 2009-2018. The measurements were done in September 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. The data process and analysis were performed in Precise Point Positioning by using GIPSYX 1.6 software. GIPSY is a GNSS-inferred positioning software developed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Then, the new estimation of the crustal velocity field is computed from the IGb14 time series by SARI software. The model applied to the original time series, using weighted least squares, consists of an intercept, a site rate and an offset to account for an antenna change. The error term is composed of white noise and temporally correlated random error. The colored noise is described by a random-walk process. We have assumed a typical magnitude for this process of 1.0 mm/√yr. Finally, we discuss the implications of the new results for the tectonic setting and seismic hazard assessment of this key tectonic area of the Betic Cordillera.

In Chile, despite the great coverage achieved, there are still children and adolescents who leave school without being able to complete 12 years of compulsory education (Casen, 2015); moreover, among the countries that make up the OECD, Chile is in the first places of deschooling (TALIS, 2013). This marginalization from the school system is affecting a significant number of children and hindering areas of integration and social development, which accentuates processes of social exclusion and violation of rights in Chile (Casen, 2015; Mide-UC, 2016; Mineduc, 2017). This is reinforced by pedagogical practices that strengthen these probabilities of failure (Román, 2013). The phenomenon of school reintegration has little evidence in relation to the human and technical component in school reintegration processes, either locally (Mide-UC, 2016; UNESCO-UNICEF-Chilean Association of Municipalities, 2012), or internationally (CEPAL, 2010; Contreras et al, 2014; Sucre, 2016), which implies observing and analyzing pedagogical intervention practices in these contexts, in terms of how these dialogical-reflective relational dynamics between teachers and children and adolescents are developed, from the perspective of pedagogical interactions, an area of growing interest in educational sciences, which looks at more than the action itself, at how and what happens in the interaction. (Colomina et al, 2001) This research from a qualitative, transactional approach, oriented from the perspective of descriptive studies (Hernández,et al, 2010) and enriched with the symbolic interactionism of Blumer (1969), whose contributions indicate that the nature of the teaching-learning processes can only be unraveled through direct examination, seeks to understand pedagogical intervention practices from the perspective of pedagogical interactions which are developed between teachers and their students, within the framework of the specialized protection programs in school reintegration implemented in Chile by the National Service for Minors of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, in vulnerable sectors of the communes of Talca, Region of Maule and La Pintana, Metropolitan Region. The analysis through the theoretical and empirical contributions provided by the scientific evidence on pedagogical interactions, in terms of how they are configured, deployed and how these pedagogical intervention practices are perceived by the actors involved, added to the findings obtained, provides an opportunity to innovate by allowing the observation of school reintegration as a scenario of human relations and to deepen around this professional action as a critical element, constituting the improvement of teaching and effectiveness in school reintegration processes.

In Colombia, the phenomenon of forced displacement from the territory of origin by ethnic minorities and inhabitants of rural areas is macroscopic; pressure by armed and economic actors, abandonment by institutional entities induces them to find refuge in no man's land. In the anonymity and informality of the extreme margins of large cities, this vulnerable population builds a primary refuge and seeks life opportunities on land without infrastructure or public services (DANE, 2015; UN_Habitat, 2016; UNHCR, 2019). In these slums there are precarious health conditions, low temperatures associated with cold winds, which generate different pathologies in their occupants. The settlement typology, based on terraces and vertical slopes, constitutes a further factor of seismic vulnerability and due to mass removal. The Tocaimita Oriental settlement (2900 m.a.s.l.) shows a complex reality of lucid awareness and determination, of community cohesion where the aims of having a “decent” home underlie the legalization of the settlements and their individual and group recognition. Forced displacement is necessary and always painful (Hannigan, O'Donnell, & O'Keeffe, 2016). In the last three decades, 36.2% of the Colombian population has left their identity territory for the largest cities in the country; in Bogotá alone there are approximately 1,393,140 people who live in the extreme urban periphery, in full illegality (UNHCR, 2017). The sad dream of this form of freedom implies leaving threats behind and satisfying needs that the very fact of staying alive demands (Shedlin, Decena, & Noboa H. & Betancourt, 2014). This is an extreme exercise of self-determination that entails abandonment, escape from conditions of hunger, pain, fear, need (Türk, 2017) in the face of death threats and extreme poverty (Centro Nacional de Memoria Histórica, 2015); the need to exist, the possibility of being able to decide in a constrained framework implies the loss of the social support base (Bobada, 2010), social, physical and economic vulnerability. Resettlement represents a new beginning with the expectation of finding housing, employment, health, education, public services (Braubach, 2011) however, the displaced, left to themselves, in turn abandon institutional rules; count on their own means and found extremely precarious illegal settlements waiting for institutional responses. Bogotá is chosen as a destination because it presents multidimensional poverty levels that are clearly lower than the rest of the country (DANE, 2017) and provides greater opportunities even in informality. En Colombia es macroscópico el fenómeno del desplazamiento forzoso del territorio de origen por parte de minorías étnicas y habitantes de áreas rurales; presiones por actores armados y económicos, abandono por las entidades institucionales los induce a encontrar refugio en tierras de nadie. En el anonimato y la informalidad de los márgenes extremos de grandes ciudades, esta población vulnerada construye un refugio primario y busca oportunidades de vida en terrenos sin infraestructuras ni servicios públicos (DANE, 2015; UN_Habitat, 2016; UNHCR, 2019). En estos tugurios se viven precarias condiciones de salud, bajas temperaturas asociadas a vientos fríos, lo que genera diferentes patologías en sus ocupantes. La tipología de asentamiento, a partir de terrazas y taludes verticales, constituye un ulterior factor de vulnerabilidad sísmica y por remoción de masa. El asentamiento de Tocaimita Oriental (2900 m.s.n.m.) muestra una realidad compleja de lúcida consciencia y determinación, de cohesión comunitaria donde los fines de tener una vivienda “digna” subyacen a la legalización de los asentamientos y su reconocimiento individual y grupal. El desplazamiento forzoso es necesario y siempre doloroso (Hannigan, O’Donnell, & O’Keeffe, 2016). En las tres últimas décadas el 36.2% de la población colombiana ha abandonado su territorio identitario hacia las mayores ciudades del país; en la sola Bogotá son aproximadamente 1.393.140 las personas que viven en la extrema periferia urbana, en plena ilegalidad (UNHCR, 2017). El sueño triste de esta forma de libertad implica dejar a sus espaldas amenazas y satisfacer necesidades que demanda el mismo hecho de mantenerse vivos (Shedlin, Decena, & Noboa H. y Betancourt, 2014). Es este un ejercicio extremo de libre determinación que conlleva el abandono, el escape de condiciones de hambre, dolor, miedo, necesidad (Türk, 2017) frente a amenazas de muerte y pobreza extrema (Centro Nacional de Memoria Histórica, 2015); la necesidad de existir, la posibilidad de poder decidir en un marco de constricción implica la pérdida de la base social de apoyo (Bobada, 2010), vulnerabilidad social, física y económica. El reasentamiento representa un nuevo inicio con la expectativa de encontrar vivienda, empleo, salud, educación, servicios públicos (Braubach, 2011) sin embargo, los desplazados, abandonados a sí mismos, abandonan a su vez las reglas institucionales; contar en sus propios medios y fundan asentamientos ilegales extremadamente precarios esperando respuestas institucionales. Bogotá es elegida como destino por presentar niveles de pobreza multidimensional netamente inferiores al resto del país (DANE, 2017) y proporciona mayores oportunidades aun en la informalidad.

Los elementos sonoros son una constante en el trabajo de Marina Abramović. No obstante, su presencia ha sido objeto de escuetos comentarios en la bibliografía especializada. Los pocos textos que se refieren al tema, abordan principalmente su obra temprana de la década de 1970. Autoras como Iles (1995) y Biesenbach (2010), solo se refieren al sonido como temporalidad en las instalaciones y performances realizadas en Belgrado. LaBelle (2006-2014) y Hegarty por su parte, se refieren de manera muy breve al uso de la voz en piezas de video performance como Freeing The Voice y Art Must Be Beautiful, sin aportar mayor información contextual al respecto. Pocos escritos abordan obras posteriores. Richards (2010) menciona la presencia de canciones populares en las obras de la década de 1990, pero las referencias suelen ser tan imprecisas que en ocasiones resulta imposible determinar qué músicas fueron empleadas. A la fecha no se ha realizado ningún estudio en profundidad sobre lo sonoro en la obra de Abramović. Cómo se relacionan el sonido, la escucha y el cuerpo, y qué rol cumple la música en el desarrollo conceptual de sus acciones, constituyen interrogantes aún por explorar. En esta ponencia intento ofrecer una panorámica general sobre el rol de lo sonoro en la obra en solitario de Marina Abramović. A través de un análisis comparado entre la serie Rhythm (1973-74) y las performances Delusional (1994) y Balkan Baroque (1997), intento poner en evidencia el paso del sonido a la música que opera en la artista y cómo ello llega a influir en su concepción de la performance. We have found 11 new members of the Hobson asteroids family: (537249) 2015 HM190, 2007 EH116, 2007 HC54, 2008 WV149, 2010 GN203, 2011 SU302, 2015 FV225, 2015 HV138, 2015 OP104, 2015 PM156, 2019 PS30. We estimated the Yarkovsky semimajor axis drift rate, the Hill sphere’s radii, and the escape velocity for all asteroids of the family. Simulation of the dynamic evolution of asteroids with allowance for the Yarkovsky effect has been carried out. Based on the simulation results, estimates of the asteroid pairs’ age included in the amily are obtained. The age of the Hobson asteroid family is about 400 kyr.

In intercultural scholarship, there is a considerable number of studies that explores the impact and effect of culturally oriented social media (see Koda 2014, 2016; Mendoza 2010). Of these studies, however, there is a paucity of understanding on how social media becomes a third space of cultural representation, especially in the Southeast Asian context (Dumlao and Wattakan 2020; Feng 2009; Kalscheuer 2008). Drawing from insights connected to inter-semiosis by Kress and Van Leeuwen (1996) and SF-MDA by O’Halloran (2011), therefore, this paper explores the glocalization process and its inclination to cultural representation, and thus creating new discursive forms of identities, by looking at Thai TV ads from January 2019 to December 2019. Two Thai TV ads were purposively chosen from international beverage companies. To capture the glocalization and cultural representation, we compared these with TV ads from other countries, namely, the Philippines, and the U.S.A. Through content and multidimensional analysis, the findings suggest that commercials construct glocal identities through several factors and incidences. These incidences and factors support and provide understanding for brand identity positioning, which itself describes the intersemiosis of elements within contemporary consumer cultures. Implications of this study are discussed in the paper.

This paper examines how audio podcasts can be deployed by universities and other educational institutions to engage with a broader range of audiences and encourage critical discussion of contemporary issues. Using the case study of a podcast I produced, I consider how the medium is an accessible and user-friendly format that enables the generation of content aimed at a general listenership. Insight into how this approach can bring teaching and research materials to new groups of people is created by reflecting on the process of making and distributing a series (Hacker 2017). Since their emergence in the early 2000s, podcasts - as a form of internet on-demand radio – have been used by universities as an additional dissemination system. Departments and universities were early adaptors to help spread knowledge, research findings, and commentary on topics of public interest (Open Culture 2006). One of the main deployments has been to augment student learning through the recording of podcasts as an alternative or supplement to lectures or as a revision or feedback tool (Fernandez et al. 2015; Kidd 2011; Lonn and Teasley 2009). More recently, within the discipline of geography, podcasts are being recognised as a distinct tools for more inclusive research that can reach groups who do not usually follow academic discourses (Kinkaid, Brain, and Senanayake 2019). Building on these strands, this paper focuses on how a podcast can be used as an educational mechanism both for general audiences and undergraduates, which recognises diverse forms of learning and the importance of accessible materials (Ambrose et al. 2010; Towler, Ridgway, and McCarthy 2015).

AbstractThe urgency for developing a circular economy is growing, and more and more companies and organisations are concerned with the importance of adapting their business to fit a changing economy. However, many analyses on the circular economy are still rather abstract and there is a lack of understanding about what circularity would mean for specific industries. This insufficient insight especially seems to be apparent in the building and construction sector. Besides, the building and construction sector is responsible for a major part of energy use and emissions. To tackle the issue of insufficient insight into the business consequences of circular devlopments, further research is necessary. Therefore, we propose to collaborate on a research project that aims to provide a more detailed level of analysis. The goal is to identify drivers and barriers to make better use of materials in the building and construction sector. This further research would benefit from an international collaboration between universities of applied sciences and industry from different European countries. World military expenditure is estimated to have been $1686 billion in 2016, equivalent to 2.2 per cent of the global gross domestic product (GDP) or $227 per person. The 2016 estimate is a marginal increase of about 0.4 per cent in real terms on 2015. After 13 consecutive years of increases (from 1998 to 2011), world military spending has continued to plateau—with only minor decreases between 2011 and 2014 (an average of 0.7 per cent per annum) and slight increases in 2015 and 2016. From 24 April 2017 the SIPRI Military Expenditure Database includes newly released information on military expenditure in 2016. This Fact Sheet describes the global, regional and national trends in military expenditure that are revealed by the new data.

World military expenditure is estimated to have reached $1739 billion in 2017, the highest level since the end of the cold war. After 13 consecutive years of increases from 1999 to 2011 and relatively unchanged spending from 2012 to 2016, total global expenditure rose marginally in 2017, by 1.1 per cent in real terms. This Fact Sheet highlights the regional and national trends in 2017 and over the decade 2008–17 shown by new data from the SIPRI Military Expenditure Database.

This paper traces the origins of the New Brazilian Right, regarding the emergence of new leaders, new forms of expression and organization, as well as new sets of ideas, namely libertarianism and anti-globalism. Based on more than thirty in-depth interviews, conducted between 2015 and 2019 with right-wing leaders and activists; on a collection of historical data from right-wing organisations’ archives between 2015 and 2018, and on public data, I argue that this phenomenon started in the mid-2000s, after the onset of a corruption scandal related to the Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) and the dissemination of the pioneering social network Orkut in Brazil. This social network, founded in 2004, preceded Facebook’s popularity in Brazil and enabled the creation of alternative and disruptive spaces of debate, referred to here as “counterpublics”. By mid- to late 2010s, during the 2014 protests for the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff and Jair Bolsonaro’s 2018 presidential campaign, this emerging new right would be at full throttle.

To increase our understanding of induced seismicity, we develop and implement methods to enhance seismic monitoring capabilities in northeastern British Columbia (NE BC). We deploy two different machine learning models to identify earthquake phases using waveform data from regional seismic stations and utilize an earthquake database management system to streamline the construction and maintenance of an up-to-date earthquake catalogue. The completion of this study allows for a comprehensive catalogue in NE BC from 2014 to 2020 by building upon our previous 2014-2016 and 2017-2018 catalogues. The bounds of the area where earthquakes were located were between 55.5°N-60.0°N and 119.8°W-123.5°W. The earthquakes in the catalogue were initially detected by machine learning models, then reviewed by an analyst to confirm correct identification, and finally located using the Non-Linear Location (NonLinLoc) algorithm. Two distinct sub-areas within the bounds consider different periods to supplement what was not covered in previously published reports - the Northern Montney Trend (NMT) is covered from 2017 to 2020 while the Kiskatinaw Seismic Monitoring and Mitigation Area (KSMMA) is covered from 2019 to 2020. The two sub-areas are distinguished by the BC Oil &amp; Gas Commission (BCOGC) due to differences in their geographic location and geology. The catalogue was produced by picking arrival phases on continuous seismic waveforms from 51 stations operated by various organizations in the region. A total of 17,908 events passed our quality control criteria and are included in the final catalogue. Comparably, the routine Canadian National Seismograph Network (CNSN) catalogue reports 207 seismic events - all events in the CNSN catalogue are present in our catalogue. Our catalogue benefits from the use of enhanced station coverage and improved methodology. The total number of events in our catalogue in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 were 62, 47, 9579 and 8220, respectively. The first two years correspond to seismicity in the NMT where poor station coverage makes it difficult to detect small magnitude events. The magnitude of completeness within the KSMMA (ML = ~0.7) is significantly smaller than that obtained for the NMT (ML = ~1.4). The new catalogue is released with separate files for origins, arrivals, and magnitudes which can be joined using the unique ID assigned to each event.

The Annual Report on Migration and Asylum 2016 provides an overview of trends, policy developments and significant debates in the area of asylum and migration during 2016 in Ireland. Some important developments in 2016 included: The International Protection Act 2015 was commenced throughout 2016. The single application procedure under the Act came into operation from 31 December 2016. The International Protection Office (IPO) replaced the Office of the Refugee Applications Commissioner (ORAC) from 31 December 2016. The first instance appeals body, the International Protection Appeals Tribunal (IPAT), replacing the Refugee Appeals Tribunal (RAT), was established on 31 December 2016. An online appointments system for all registrations at the Registration Office in Dublin was introduced. An electronic Employment Permits Online System (EPOS) was introduced. The Irish Short Stay Visa Waiver Programme was extended for a further five years to October 2021. The Second National Action Plan to Prevent and Combat Human Trafficking was published. 2016 was the first full year of implementation of the Irish Refugee Protection Programme (IRPP). A total of 240 persons were relocated to Ireland from Greece under the relocation strand of the programme and 356 persons were resettled to Ireland. Following an Oireachtas motion, the Government agreed to allocate up to 200 places to unaccompanied minors who had been living in the former migrant camp in Calais and who expressed a wish to come to Ireland. This figure is included in the overall total under the IRPP. Ireland and Jordan were appointed as co-facilitators in February 2016 to conduct preparatory negotiations for the UN high level Summit for Refugees and Migrants. The New York Declaration, of September 2016, sets out plans to start negotiations for a global compact for safe, orderly and regular migration and a global compact for refugees to be adopted in 2018. Key figures for 2016: There were approximately 115,000 non-EEA nationals with permission to remain in Ireland in 2016 compared to 114,000 at the end of 2015. Net inward migration for non-EU nationals is estimated to be 15,700. The number of newly arriving immigrants increased year-on-year to 84,600 at April 2017 from 82,300 at end April 2016. Non-EU nationals represented 34.8 per cent of this total at end April 2017. A total of 104,572 visas, both long stay and short stay, were issued in 2016. Approximately 4,127 persons were refused entry to Ireland at the external borders. Of these, 396 were subsequently admitted to pursue a protection application. 428 persons were returned from Ireland as part of forced return measures, with 187 availing of voluntary return, of which 143 were assisted by the International Organization for Migration Assisted Voluntary Return Programme. There were 532 permissions of leave to remain granted under section 3 of the Immigration Act 1999 during 2016. A total of 2,244 applications for refugee status were received in 2016, a drop of 32 per cent from 2015 (3,276). 641 subsidiary protection cases were processed and 431 new applications for subsidiary protection were submitted. 358 applications for family reunification in respect of recognised refugees were received. A total of 95 alleged trafficking victims were identified, compared with 78 in 2015.

A numerical, two-dimensional hydrodynamic model of the Mississippi River, from Thebes, IL, to Tiptonville, TN (128 miles/206 km), was developed using the Adaptive Hydraulics model. The study objective assessed current patterns and flow distributions and their possible impacts on navigation due to Birds Point New Madrid Floodway (BPNMF) operations and the Len Small (LS) levee break. The model was calibrated to stage, discharge, and velocity data for the 2011, 2015–2016, and 2017 floods. The calibrated model was used to run four scenarios, with the BPNMF and the LS breach alternately active/open and inactive/closed. Effects from the LS breach being open are increased river velocities upstream of the breach, decreased velocities from the breach to Thompson Landing, no effects on velocity below the confluence, and cross-current velocities greater than 3.28 ft/s (1.0 m/s) within 1186.8 ft (60 m) of the bankline revetment. Effects from BPNMF operation are increased river velocities above the confluence, decreased velocities from the BPNMF upper inflow crevasse (Upper Fuseplug) to New Madrid, cross-current velocities greater than 1.5 ft/s (0.5 m/s) only near the right bank where flow re-enters the river from the BPNMF lower inflow/outflow crevasse Number 2 (Lower Fuseplug) and St. Johns Bayou.

Campylobacter spp. are the most common bacterial cause of foodborne illness in the UK, with chicken considered to be the most important vehicle for this organism. The FSA agreed with industry to reduce campylobacter spp. contamination in raw chicken and issued a target to reduce the prevalence of the most contaminated chickens (those with more than 1000 cfu per gram chicken neck skin) to below 10% at the end of the slaughter process, initially by 2016. To help monitor progress, a series of UK-wide surveys were undertaken to determine the levels of campylobacter spp. on whole UK-produced, fresh chicken at retail sale in the UK. The data obtained for the first five years was reported in FSA projects FS241044 – year 1 (2014/15) and FS102121- year 2 to 5 (2015 to 2019). This new survey represents year 6 of sampling, carried out from August 2019 to October 2020.
