Solving the eigenvalue equation, we analytically derive the energy levels and the corresponding wavefunctions. These will be used, at low temperature and weak electric field, to determine the thermodynamical potential Ω nc and related physical quantities.

Abtract. This article aims to pose the problem of the relationship between State and Sovereignty in Jean Bodin. In the second half of the Sixteenth Century and then in the Seventeenth Century, Sovereignty was understood as an external principle, presupposed to the existence of political association. Classical terminology then remains. Only when Sovereignty appears as an internal, constitutive element of the Political Body, will the term State permanently take the place of the conceptuality inherited from tradition. Only in this specific phase of its historical conceptual development doe

Aim to fulfill the design requirements of a pneumatic proportional directional valve, a novel bidirectional proportional electromagnet with integrated lineal Hall position sensor was proposed. Magnetic circuit model and finite element model were established separately. Both static force vs. armature stroke characteristic and Hall sensor output vs. armature position were tested on a newly designed test platform. The experimental result shows a good linear magnetic spring characteristic of the proportional electromagnet, which further ensures a unique spool auto reset capability for directional

The impact of hail ice cubes on composite structures (such as solar cells) causes actual defects. This article presents a series of tests, in which solar cell modules were exposed to hail simulation testbed balls, allowing to assess the following: the impact energy, which causes the major defects in solar cells; the formed micro-cracks in the structure of solar cells, resulting in the loss of power generated by a solar cell; and the solar cell parameters necessary for modelling. In addition, this article presents a digital analysis of hail simulation. Information received from the digital anal

ABSTRACT Objective: An appliance was designed to increase the cortical bone surface contact area of miniscrew implants (MSIs). The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effects of this appliance on the anchorage force resistance and the stability of orthodontic MSIs. Materials and Methods: A total of 48 MSIs were placed into bone specimens prepared from the ilium of bovines. Half were placed with the newly designed apparatus and half were placed conventionally. All the specimens were subjected to tangential force loading perpendicular to the MSI with lateral displacement of 0.6 mm

In this paper, we discussed analytically higher order dispersive extended nonlinear Schrödinger equation with the aid of newly developed technique named as extended modified auxiliary equation mapping method. As a result, we have found a variety of new families of exact traveling wave solutions including bright, dark, half-bright, half-dark, combined, periodic, doubly periodic, with the help of three parameters, which is the key importance of this method. For physical description of our newly obtained solutions, we have expressed them graphically using Mathematica 10.4 to explain more efficien

Abstract Approximately 60% of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) patients possess an unmethylated methylguanine DNA-methyltransferase (MGMT gene, which confers a limited response to standard of care treatment with temozolomide (TMZ) resulting in a lower survival. VAL-083 is a novel bi-functional DNA targeting agent that induces interstrand cross-links at N7-guanine, leading to DNA double-strand breaks and ultimately cell death. VAL-083 circumvents MGMT-mediated repair of the O6 guanine alkylator TMZ. A Phase 2 study has been initiated for VAL-083 in newly diagnosed MGMT unmethylated GBM. The study

Objective— Aspirin together with thienopyridine P2Y 12 inhibitors, commonly clopidogrel, is a cornerstone of antiplatelet therapy. However, many patients receiving this therapy display high on-treatment platelet reactivity, which is a major therapeutic hurdle to the prevention of recurrent thrombotic events. The emergence of uninhibited platelets after thrombopoiesis has been proposed as a contributing factor to high on-treatment platelet reactivity. Here, we investigate the influences of platelet turnover on platelet aggregation in the face of different dual-antiplatelet therapy strategies. A
