The article describes the mechanism of the developing of a new meaning of the lexeme пилот in the Russian language. It is proved that the new lexico-semantic variant "experimental, trial" initially arises in the semantic structure of the word pilot in English. Its transition into Russian, however, is not a process of mechanical calquing, but an active process of adaptation of the lexeme in the recipient language. Morphological peculiarities of Russian language determine the introduction of the new meaning in three different forms: the noun пилот, the adjectival phrase пилотный проект and the a

The article on the material of neosemanticisms in the modern Ukrainian language examines the process of expanding the meaning of words, which consists in using the word in relation to a larger range of objects. In the process of expansion, generalized semes are usually introduced into the structure of the denotation, which leads to a decrease in the semantic composition of the derivative compared to the original value. The process of expanding the meaning is based on genus-species concepts. Several models are characteristic for the expansion of the meaning, namely: 1) generalization of the arc

Since the first decade of the 21st century, when social networks have become a part of everyday life, socially-oriented activities of Internet users have been on the continual rise. By creating a profile on social networks, Internet users cease to be passive Internet content and information consumers, but rather turn into creators, who shape a dynamic space of new media by virtue of their activities and personal contribution. One of the most significant areas in which social network users introduce numerous changes and innovative contents is most certainly communication and language practices.
