Abstract:
We propose a general approach to nets and structures in which vertices represent stereochemically significant groups or clusters of atoms, and edges represent the linkage between these groups. Vertices may be single atoms, dimers, coordination polyhedra, clusters of atoms or clusters of coordination polyhedra; edges may be single chemical bonds or sets of several chemical bonds. Thus, a single net may be the basis for a family of structures that are homeomorphic to that net. The coordination of polyhedra or units around a vertex is visualized by connecting the centres of the atoms or groups at

We present the design of S-NET, a coordination language and component technology based on stream processing. S-NET achieves a near-complete separation between application code, written in a conventional programming language, and coordination code, written in S-NET itself. S-NET boxes integrate existing sequential code as stream-processing components into streaming networks, whose construction is based on algebraic formulae built out of four network combinators. Subtyping on the level of boxes and networks and a tailor-made inheritance mechanism achieve flexible software reuse.

Abstract:
This paper discusses recent evidence of a large, unrealised energy savings potential in the UK residential sector. It discusses authoritative policy reviews critiquing the Net Zero Strategy and the Heat and Buildings Strategy as well as the economic literature on the energy-efficiency gap. These sources point to four main potential explanations for the lack of progress towards net zero in residential buildings in the UK: 1) historical and current untargeted subsidies to energy prices (e.g., energy price guarantee); 2) poor scheme implementation and lack of workforce training; 3) regulatory bar

Following a first euphoric phase about the advantages of commercial networks, there is now a host of reports attesting to their confusing over-complexity. Network failures are manifold: overwhelming environment information, coordination blockades, severe interface problems, permanent decision conflicts, a-symmetric power relations, opportunistic behaviour of nodes and centre, as well as negative externalities of net activities. In order to overcome network failure this article pursues an institutional analysis of networks: Where can the 'opportunity structure' be found, the social potential fo

The reactions of a flexible ligand hexakis(3-pyridyloxy)cyclotriphosphazene (HPCP) with a variety of silver(I) salts (AgX;X= NO3−, PF6−, ClO4−, CH3PhSO3−, BF4−and CF3SO3−) afforded six silver(I) coordination polymers, namely {[Ag2(HPCP)]·(NO3)2·H2O}n(1), {[Ag2(HPCP)(CH3CN)]·(PF6)2}n(2), {[Ag2(HPCP)(CH3CN)]·(ClO4)2}n(3), [Ag3(HPCP)(CH3PhSO3)3]n(4), [Ag2(HPCP)(CH3CN)(BF4)2]n(5) and {[Ag(HPCP)]·(CF3SO3)}n(6). All of the isolated crystalline compounds were structurally determined by X-ray crystallography. Changing the counteranions in the reactions, which were conducted under similar conditions of

Europe currently has some of the most valuable occupational, industrial, and population cohorts worldwide. However, in recent years there has been limited coordination and promotion of European health research on occupation and employment. OMEGA-NET is a COST Action (2017–2021) funded by the EU, currently involving researchers from 29 European countries and an increasing number of near neighbour and international partner countries. The overarching concept is to create a network to advance i) collaboration of existing cohorts, ii) coordination and harmonisation of exposure assessment, and iii)
