Rapid advances in high-throughput molecular profiling techniques enabled large-scale genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics-based biomedical studies, generating an enormous amount of multi-omics data. Abstract:
In this thesis, we develop a simple and powerful multiscale model for the synthesis of nonGaussian, long-range-dependent (LRD) network traffic. The wavelet transform effectively decorrelates LRD signals and hence is well-suited to model such data. However, wavelet-based models have generally been used for modeling Gaussian data which can be unrealistic for traffic. Using a multiplicative superstructure atop the Haar wavelet transform, we exploit the decorrelating properties of wavelets while simultaneously capturing the positivity and "spikiness" of nonGaussian traffic. We develop a queuing an

By detecting outside attacks and fail them, most of the security threats to a computer environment are eliminated. However, an outside attack may escape the detection of the defense mechanism and successfully compromise an inside host,

Abstract:
<p>This thesis presents spatially and temporally dependent hierarchical Bayesian models for the analysis of social networks and associated textual data. Social network analysis has received significant recent attention and has been applied to fields as varied as analysis of Supreme Court votes, Congressional roll call data, and inferring links between authors of scientific papers. In many traditional social network analysis models, temporal and spatial dependencies are not considered due to computational difficulties, even though significant such dependencies often play a significant role i

Abstract:
The discovery of the Arabidopsis ttg1 mutant almost three decades ago provided a unique opportunity for the study of how several cell fates and organ identity pathways are co-regulated. Besides showing a lack of flavonoid based pigments, the pleiotropic ttg1 mutant is also deficient for the development of several epidermal characters including plant hair cells (trichomes), the non-hair cells of the root and the mucilage-secreting cells of the seed coat epidermis. Ectopic expression of the maize R bHLH transcriptional regulator of the flavonoid pigment pathway could completely suppress all the
