Full textSå mycket som det mångfaldiga och rika utbudet på e-handelswebbplatser hjälper användarna att hitta det de behöver på en marknadsplats, är online- katalogerna ibland för överväldigande. Rekommendationssystem en viktig roll på e-handelswebbplatser eftersom de förbättrar kundupplevelsen genom att hjälpa användarna att hitta vad de vill ha i rätt ögonblick. Dessa rekommen- dationer kan baseras på användarens egenskaper, demografi, inköps- eller ses- sionshistorik.I denna avhandling fokuserar vi på att identifiera komplementära förhållanden mellan produkter för det största e-handelsföretaget i Nederländerna. Komplet- terande produkter är produkter passar väl ihop, produkter som kan vara en nödvändighet för den valda produkten eller helt enkelt ett trevligt tillskott till den. På företaget finns det stor potential eftersom kompletterande produkter ökar det genomsnittliga inköpsvärdet och de tillhandahålls för mindre än 20% av hela katalogen.Vi föreslår ett innehållsbaserat rekommendationssystem för att upptäcka kom- pletterande produkter, med en övervakad strategi för inlärning som bygger på Siamese Neural Network (SNN). Syftet med denna avhandling är i tre steg; För det första är huvudmålet att skapa en SNN-modell som kan förutsäga komplet- terande produkter för en given produkt baserat på innehållet. För detta ändamål implementerar och jämför vi två olika modeller: Siamese Convolutional Neu- ral Network och Siamese Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) Recurrent Neural Network. Vi matar in data i dessa neurala nätverk med par produkter hämta- de från företaget, som antingen är komplementära eller icke-komplementära. Det andra grundläggande antagandet av vår metod att de flesta av de viktiga funktionerna för en produkt ingår i dess titel, men vi genomför också expe- riment inklusive produktbeskrivningen och varumärket. Slutligen föreslår vi en utvidgning av SNN-metoden för att hantera miljoner produkter på några sekunder.∼Som ett resultat av eperimenten drar vi slutsatsen att Siamese LSTM kan för- utsäga komplementära produkter med högsta noggrannhet på 85%. Vårt antagande att titeln är det mest värdefulla attributet bekräftades. Därtill är om- vandling av vår lösning till ett K-närmaste grannproblem för att optimera den för miljontals produkter gav lovande resultat.

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to examine the network of relationships developed among the sophists and the philosophers in two biographical corpora, Philostratus’ Lives of Sophists and Eunapius’ Lives of Philosophers and Sophists, as well as the pivotal role these relationships (especially those of master and student) played in the formation of the two collections. The study of the nexus of these relationships aims to demonstrate the structural singularity of these corpora, which is pointed, for instance, by the inclusion of certain sophists/philosophers and the exclusion of others; at the same time, these relationships are shown to constitute a major organizational principle of the Lives, allowing thus a sharper understanding of the sophistic/philosophical identity in the Graeco-Roman Imperial period. The two corpora are read as regulatory, canonistic texts, in the sense that they dictate and determine, to a great extent, the type of the biographised sophists and philosophers worth preserving for future generations.

This research is based on five Taiwanese firms operating in Xiamen to conduct a case study. On account of increased importance of high performance HRM practices, there is a lack of a systematic theoretical framework to depict what should be included in high performance HRM practices. So far, however, there has been little discussion about the relationships among high performance HRM practices, networks and firm performance, especially on the Taiwanese firms operating in Mainland China. This research aims to propose systematic perspectives to examine the relationships among high performance HRM practices, networks, and firm performance; furthermore, to find out the actual factors influencing firm performance, the critical elements in high performance HRM practices, and the helpful components in networks. The findings indicate: (1) high performance HRM practices among Taiwanese firms in Xiamen comprise six factors; namely, job security, cross-departmental education/training, performance oriented evaluation, emphasis on career development, communication, and teamwork; (2) there are two types of networks in Taiwanese firms: horizontal and vertical; vertical networks specifically refer to maintaining external relationships with local governmental organizations and taxation institutions. Nevertheless, there are two categories in horizontal networks: internal and external horizontal networks. Internal horizontal networks stress on teamwork; however, external horizontal networks focus on building relationships with suppliers, upper and lower manufacturers. It further showed that internal networks influenced on high performance HRM practices, and external networks and firm performance had interactive impact on each other. It denoted that the closer the external networks, the better firm performance got. Contrarily, better firm performance would enhance external networks; simultaneously, internal networks and external networks would act as moderating roles which strengthen the relationship between high performance HRM practices and firm performance.

In this study, we investigate the relationships among characteristics of director networks, ambidextrous innovation types and firm performance for Taiwan’s listed semiconductor industry companies that applied for patents in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) within the period from 2012 to 2014. We apply Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) to remedy the inadequacies of the literature and research methods, The main findings are as follows: (1) The higher director network size, the more it can strengthen exploration innovation. (2) Exploration innovation can enhance accounting performance, and exploitation innovation can promote market value. (3) Director network size can indeed further affect accounting performance through exploration innovation.

The purpose of this research is to explore the relationship between empowerment, social network and organizational commitment and collective Efficacy for employees in a fitness club. The study also examines how different employee backgrounds impact empowerment, social network and organization commitment as well as how empowerment and social network impact organizational commitment. The subjects of this study were employees from a certain chain fitness club in Kaohsiung City. Using a cluster sampling approach, a total of 200 questionnaires were distributed with 188 valid responses received from 80 male employees and 52 female employees. After multiple regression analysis of the data the following findings were made: the social network of fitness club employees had a certain mediating effect on empowerment and organization commitment. And the social network of fitness club employees had a certain mediating effect on Collective Efficacy. The "impact", "competence" and "Autonomy" of empowerment mainly affected the organizational commitment. The "impact" and "meaning" of empowerment mainly affected the social network and collective Efficacy. The " network centrality", "strength of tie", and "social impact" of social network mainly affected the organizational commitment. The "network centrality" and "strength of tie" of social network mainly affected the collective Efficacy. The "affective commitment" of organizational commitment mainly affected the collective Efficacy. The survey showed that Married, over the age of 31, service more than 3 years and the Managerial Levels’ perceived empowerment and organizational commitment were score above average. The employees service more than 3 years and the Managerial Levels’ perceived social network were score above average. The employees over the age of 31, service more than 3 years and the Managerial Levels’ perceived collective Efficacy were score above average.

In addition to Taiwan social reform and drastic changes in its population structure, the government has been undergoing practical reform to its educational policy and concepts. From a stable and simple educational environment, it is being transformed into complicated and uncertain education structure. Under unexplainable situation, it is apparent that it is becoming politically inclined and motivated. The personnel institution is an independent system. Appointed individuals or staffs connected with personnel management agencies are assigned to administer central and local governmental agencies including schools. The subjects of this study are personnel officers in the schools. This study's objective was to investigate personnel officers' influence in regards to organizational commitment taking into consideration these perceived political behaviors. By recognizing the existence of political behavior, we hope to find solutions to increase organizational commitment. There are three objectives in this thesis. First, to investigate how the perceptions of organizational politics influence organizational commitment. Second, to understand how the networks influence organizational commitment. Third , to detect the moderate influence of the network on the perceptions of organizational politics and organizational commitment. Adopting the survey research method, the subjects of this study are personnel officers working at public elementary, junior, and senior high schools in Kaohsiung City and Kaohsiung County. We have sent out a total of 272 official questionnaires, wherein 242 were questionnaires returned and applicable, achieving an 89% return rate of the original questionnaires. Through confirmatory factor analysis, analysis of Pearson correlation, regression and multiple regression, we performed the analyses of various hypotheses, and drew the conclusions as follow:(1)Perceptions of organizational politics have a partial negative influence on organizational commitment.(2)Networks have a partial positive influence on organizational commitment.(3)Networks have a partial moderate influence on the perceptions of organizational politics and organizational commitment. Finally, according to the above conclusions, this study provide suggestions as reference for school, personnel administrative institutions, personnel officers and future researchers.
