Abstract:

Am Beispiel der drei Skisportler Simon Ammann, Dario Cologna und Beat Feuz wird während der Olympischen Winterspiele in Pyeongchang untersucht, wie schweizerische Tageszeitungen über nationale Sportstars berichten, die an einem großen internationalen Wettkampf zu den Erfolgshoffnungen gehören. Als Datenbasis dienen insgesamt 77 Artikel aus der Boulevardzeitung Blick, der Qualitätszeitung Neue Zürcher Zeitung und der Regionalzeitung Freiburger Nachrichten, die mittels einer qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse erfasst werden. Zentrale Untersuchungskriterien sind die Beurteilung der Sportler in Bezug auf ihre Leistung und ihre Person, der Stellenwert von sportlichen und privaten Aspekten in der Berichterstattung, die Zuschreibung von Charaktertypen, die Verwendung identitätsstiftender Elemente wie der 1. Person Plural oder der Bezugnahme auf nationale Symbole und Traditionen sowie die internale oder externale Attribuierung der Leistungen. Trotz der unterschiedlichen Erfolgsbilanz der drei Sportler kann die Berichterstattung, die sich stark auf sportliche Aspekte konzentriert, insgesamt als wohlwollend beschrieben werden: Negative Leistungsbewertungen sind äußerst selten, Misserfolge werden überwiegend external attribuiert, und bei allen Sportlern werden positive Charaktereigenschaften hervorgehoben. Bei der Verwendung identitätsstiftender Elemente zeigen sich jedoch Unterschiede, die mit der unterschiedlichen Erfolgsbilanz und der Art der persönlichen Charakterisierung erklärt werden können – hier weist der als blitzschnell, nervenstark und bodenständig charakterisierte Skirennfahrer Beat Feuz offenbar am meisten Identifikationspotenzial auf.

Abstract:

The life and activity of the publicist, journalist and researcher Bohdan Osadchuk is a meaningful example of activities for the inter-civilisation dialogue. He was born in Galicia, which belonged to the Second Polish Republic, and he always treated Polish and Ukrainian cultures as his own. Osadchuk’s efforts to strengthen Polish-Ukrainian relations and understanding, as well as his cooperation with Jerzy Giedroyc, editor-in-chief of the Paris-based journal Kultura [Culture], which was unique in terms of content and influence, were of particular importance. The author of this article has collected and analysed little-known and so far undiscovered facts and previously unavailable archival documents. Bohdan Osadchuk grew up in a multicultural environment. Professing liberal values, he condemned all chauvinism. He managed to combine the identity of a Ukrainian emigrant with that of a European democrat. For seventy years, he lived in Berlin (1941–2011), where he graduated from the university and became recognised as a journalist Alexander Korab. He was known under this pseudonym to readers of German newspapers and the oldest Swiss daily newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung for decades. For over half a century, he wrote for this authoritative newspaper about the events in the Soviet Union, Poland, Ukraine and the countries of the socialist bloc. Moreover, when actively cooperating with German radio and television, he introduced Polish and Ukrainian issues to the media discourse. The communist special services of the People’s Republic of Poland and the Soviet Union hunted Bohdan Osadchuk, watched him and tried to recruit him. But he was playing his own game and was not fooled. This article also describes Osadchuk’s scientific achievements that he gained as a professor at the Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin) and the Ukrainian Free University in Munich, as well as the author of fundamental publications. Moreover, the circumstances of the last years of Osadchuk’s life, which ended in Poland, are presented for the first time.

Abstract:

A vizsgálat korpuszaként a WirtschaftsBlatt, a DER STANDARD, a Neue Zürcher Zeitung, a Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, a DIE WELT és a WirtschaftsWoche gazdasági lapok online verziójában fellelhető gazdasági témájú cikkeit választottam. A jelentéstani aspektus oldaláról történő osztályozáskor elsősorban az idiomatikus jelleget vizsgáltam. Amennyiben egy nyelvi egység jelentése nem adható meg az egyes elemek jelentéséből, idiomatikus jelentésről beszélünk. Minél nagyobb különbség van a kifejezés szó szerinti és frazeológiai jelentése között, annál nagyobb a szószerkezet idiomatizáltsági foka (vö. Fleischer, 1997; Burger, 1998; Kerékjártó, 2000; Forgács, 2007; Donalies, 2009). A korpusz elemzése során nyilvánvalóvá vált, hogy a szemantikai megközelítésben a gazdaság egyes szegmenseihez kötődnek a kigyűjtött frazeologizmusok. Így különítettem el tőzsdei, makro pénzügyi, vállalati mechanizmusokhoz, folyamatokhoz, valamint általános gazdasági folyamatokhoz kapcsolódó szegmenseket.

Abstract:

It will be discussed in what way the language of Swiss newspapers written in German is gender-sensitive and what types of sexism can be found still. Six randomly chosen articles from six issues of each the 'Tagesanzeiger', the 'NZZ' and the 'Blick' are analyzed. On the one hand, the usage of non-sexist alternatives to the generic masculinum is examined in respect to personal references and, on the other hand, it is shown how men and women are treated in linguistically different ways. The data proves that sexism has, to a large extent, disappeared from Swiss-German newspapers. Sexist thinking, however, is still present in the sub-conscious and also manifests itself in the texts of the newspapers. Es wird die Frage diskutiert, inwiefern die Sprache Deutschschweizer Tageszeitungen geschlechtergerecht ist und welche sexistischen Züge sie nach wie vor aufweist. Dazu werden zufällig ausgewählte Artikel von je sechs Ausgaben der Zeitungen Tages-Anzeiger, Neue Zürcher Zeitung und Blick ausgewertet. Einerseits wird in diesen Texten die Verwendung geschlechtergerechter Alternativen zum generischen Maskulinum bei Personenbezeichnungen untersucht, andererseits wird an ausgewählten Beispielen aufgezeigt, wie Frauen und Männer sprachlich unterschiedlich behandelt werden. Das untersuchte Material belegt, dass Sexismus in Deutschschweizer Tageszeitungen zwar weitgehend von der Oberfläche verschwunden ist, dass aber sexistisches Denken nach wie vor im Unterbewusstsein vorhanden ist und sich auch in Zeitungstexten manifestiert.

Abstract:

Vertigem, lançado na Alemanha em 1990, inaugura as narrativas em prosa de W. G. Sebald. A obra é dividida em quatro partes, duas delas são inspiradas na vida de Stendhal e Kafka e se assemelham a ensaios críticos, as outras duas estruturam-se a partir de um narrador em primeira pessoa. No espólio do autor, em Deutsches Literaturarchiv Marbach, Alemanha, é possível entrar em contato com as fontes de pesquisa utilizadas na escrita de Vertigem e observar influências do processo de ficcionalização dos documentos. Exemplo disso são duas matérias jornalísticas: a primeira, intitulada “Kafka in Riva, 1913”, de autoria de Anthony Northey, publicado no Neue Zürcher Zeitung, jornal semanário de Hamburgo, na sessão “Literatur und Kunst”, datada de 24 de abril de 1987; e a matéria “Die Gnadenlosen”, publicada no jornal alemão Die Zeit, em 5 de dezembro de 1986, de autoria de Erwin Brunner. Ambas compõem referências extraliterárias, principalmente pelo modo como o processo de inserção [Einbetten] das fontes coaduna-se com um entrelaçamento [Einschachten] das histórias dos personagens e do narrador. Portanto, a análise será centrada nos documentos arquivados pelo autor-narrador e no modo como a inscrição dos arquivos torna-se uma forma de trazê-los novamente ao uso, metamorfoseados em novas formas de ler e representar a realidade.

Abstract:

Analyzing which actors or sources are cited in the news media coverage allows for carving out different perspectives that are represented in the media coverage. Studies thus analyze which types of actors are cited by journalists to what extent. In technology coverage, actors from the domain of science, politics, NGOs, industry and citizens are often mentioned. Field of application/theoretical foundation: The analysis of the representation of actors is based on the assumption that journalists choose actors as sources purposefully and thereby attribute relevance to them. Those actors cited in the journalistic coverage have more opportunities to present their arguments and are thus more visible in the public discourse. Actors are also analyzed within framing analysis (Entman, 1993) and analyses of discourses in various domains. Abstract:

In der «Neuen Zürcher Zeitung» vom 26. Juni 2014 hat sich der ehemalige Botschafter der Schweiz beim Europarat in Strassburg (2007-2011), Paul Widmer, in der Debatte über die Urteile des Europäischen Gerichtshofes für Menschenrechte (EGMR) in Schweizer Fällen zu Wort gemeldet und in das bereits bekannte Horn «Mehr richterliche Zurückhaltung in Strassburg» gestossen. Er hat sich damit in die Reihe jener gestellt, die seit längerem den Versuch unternehmen, den EGMR gegenüber der Bevölkerung mit ähnlichen oder gleichlautenden und meist populistischen Argumenten zu diskreditieren.
