Abstract:
THE Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, which attracted so much controversy during its passage, continued to provoke dissent in the first case to reach the House of Lords on the interpretation of its public order provisions. The question in Director of Public Prosecutions v. Jones [1999] 2 W.L.R. 625 was the extent of the public's right to use the highway and, more specifically, whether a public assembly may constitute a lawful user.

Abstract:
AbstractPuparia of house flies, Musca domestica L., and stable flies, Stomoxys calcitrans (L.) (Diptera: Muscidae), were collected on dairy farms in Prince Edward Island (PEI) and New Brunswick (NB) and held for emergence of hymenopterous parasitoids. Percent parasitism for PEI in 2003 and 2004 was 6.7 (n = 10 060 puparia) and 1.0 (n = 36 992 puparia), respectively. Percent parasitism for NB was not determined in 2003, but was 9.1% (n = 3052 puparia) in 2004. A parasitoid provisionally identified as Phygadeuon ?fumator Gravenhörst (Ichneumonidae) predominated in both provinces. Additional species recovered included Aphaereta pallipes (Say) (Braconidae) and Muscidifurax raptor Girault and Saunders, Spalangia cameroni Perkins (PEI only), Spalangianigra Latreille (NB only), Spalangia subpunctata Förster (NB only), Trichomalopsis americana (Gahan) (PEI only), and Urolepis rufipes (Ashmead) (Pteromalidae). Dissection of host puparia from which neither flies nor wasps emerged yielded a relatively large number of additional parasitoids, particularly S. nigra.

Abstract:
AbstractSince the 1990s, Canada's francophone minority communities (FMCs) have become increasingly involved in francophone immigration governance, and this trend has coincided with the wider neoliberalization of immigration in Canada. This article analyzes the implications of the growing influence of a neoliberal immigration policy and the narrative of an ideal immigrant on Canada's FMCs by focussing on the francophone Acadian community in New Brunswick, Canada's only constitutionally bilingual province. Making use of three types of sources—semistructured interviews, debates in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, and official and archival documents—the article argues that francophone and Acadian organizations have adopted the federal, neoliberal perspective on immigration, placing greater emphasis on economic integration and the creation of a bilingual workforce. Changes in the type of immigrant selected and role of the community in the lives of francophone immigrants create new challenges for minority language communities that define and identify themselves through language use and belonging.

In Nepal, the twice-postponed elections for the Constituent Assembly were successfully held in April 2008. The Maoists, who obtained a plurality of seats, took office at the head of a multi-party coalition following the formal abolition of the monarchy. Yet, fundamental issues still remained unresolved, including integrating the guerilla forces into the national army. In Bhutan, elections for the lower house were won decisively by the party led by Jigme Thinley, and the country's new Constitution was promulgated.

Full text
Abstract:
Purpose Micro ultra-thin tubes have important implications in aerospace, nuclear energy and other fields. In microassembly process, these parts are characterized by following reasons: the small size can easily lead to damage when gripping, even for low intensity and the parts are mainly affected by the instability of light source, for vision-based systems, the visual information about ultra-thin tubes is difficult to gather and the contact state is hard to monitor. Design/methodology/approach The paper presents a new method to adjust the position deviations based on contact forces during microassembly processes. Specific research is such that the assembly model was established based both on mechanic calculation and numerical simulation; the assembly task was carried out on an in-house microassembly system with coaxial alignment function (MSCA), the contact statements were controlled based on force sensor feedback signals and the model of the relationship between contact force and assembly deviations was established. Through a comparative study, the results of experiment and simulation differ by less than 11 per cent, validating the accuracy and feasibility of the method. Findings The model of assembly force and position deviations of micro ultra-thin tubes based on MSCA has been built. Besides, the assembly force threshold, and the assembly process parameters have been obtained. Originality/value The assembly process parameters obtained from experiments can be applied in the precision assembly and provide theoretical guidance and technical support to the precision assembly of the multi-scale parts.

Abstract:
With the collapse of press censorship that followed the impeachment of William Laud in the Fall of 1640, a group of London printers took advantage of their new-found freedom and encouraged the House of Commons to convene an assembly of divines whose sole task was to revise the notes located within the margins of the Geneva Bible. The new annotations, it was agreed, were to be affixed to the margins of the Authorized Version, which would subsequently be sold as an annotated Bible. London’s newly liberated presses, however, produced a flood of Bibles, and the price of Bibles naturally fell. Such market conditions meant that an annotated Bible, more costly to produce, would be rendered unmarketable. Fortuitously, the men assembled to compose the new annotations came up with a set far too lengthy to be confined to the margins of the Authorized Version. The resulting commentary, which was published in 1645 as a separate volume, proved to be a marketable alternative.

Abstract:
AbstractThe history of prefabrication in settler Australia is incomplete. The use of prefabricated and transportable buildings in existing Australian architectural histories focuses on colonial importation from Britain, Asia, America and New Zealand. This article, however, argues for a more diverse and local history of prefabrication — one that considers Indigenous people’s use of prefabrication and draws on archaeological research of abandoned military ventures, revealing an Australian-made, colonial prefabricated building industry that existed for over 40 years, from the 1800s to the 1840s. A more inclusive architectural history of prefabrication is considered in relation to a case study of the first European house erected in Moreton Bay at the British penal outpost of Red Cliffe Point (1824–25), a settlement established partly to contribute to British territory-marking on Australia’s distant coastlines. While existing histories prioritise transportability and ease of assembly as features of prefabricated buildings, this research has found that ease of disassembly, relocation and recycling of building components is a key feature of prefabrication in early abandoned British military garrisons.

Abstract:
With increasing product customization, just-in-time part replenishment has become a significant scheduling problem in the automobile assembly system. This paper investigates a new unrelated parallel machine scheduling problem of an assembly line, where machines are employed to deliver material boxes from an in-house warehouse to workstations. The schedule is to appropriately specify the assignment and sequence of material boxes on each machine for minimizing line-side inventories under no stock-out constraints. By taking advantages of domain properties, an exact algorithm is developed to cope up with small-scale instances. In terms of real-world scale instances, a hybrid teaching–learning-based optimization metaheuristic is established by integrating teaching–learning-based optimization with a beam search technique. Experimental results indicate that the scheduling algorithms are effective and efficient in solving the proposed unrelated parallel machine scheduling.

Abstract:
This research introduces a residential net-zero energy house named i-Yard 2.0, which was built by a team from Beijing Jiaotong University for the 2018 Solar Decathlon China competition. The concept was based on the needs of an aging population and achieves energy self-sufficiency through both active (i.e., solar energy) and passive design strategies. With the growing recognition of the need for better environmental protection, green building strategies have become mainstream in building development. A building’s energy balance is one of the most important indexes for assessing green buildings. The i-Yard 2.0 adopts an integrated design strategy with a sustainable development background. It takes a senior citizen-oriented design as the starting point and innovates in aspects such as community modeling, building strategies, passive spatial planning, the energy and building environment, and intelligent building control. The community comprises a new residential model called “cooperative living.” The building strategy adopts a modular assembly approach in order to achieve rapid construction suitable for this type of competition. The passive spatial plan uses the notion of the courtyard as a green core to regulate the microclimate. The building environment achieves net-zero energy by improving active energy access and reducing passive energy consumption. The internet control model was designed to incorporate intelligent building control. The i-Yard 2.0 provides not only a new form of senior residential housing for developing areas, it also provides a novel and worthy reference for net-zero energy housing in China.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to design and develop 14-degree of freedom (DOF) robotic micromanipulator with which LIGA devices and axle hole part can be both manipulated and assembled. Design/methodology/approach – The in-house robotic microassembly system is composed of a 6-DOF large motion serial robot with microgrippers, a hexapod six-DOF precision alignment worktable and a vision system whose optical axis of the microscope is parallel with the horizontal plane. A prism with special coating is fixed in front of the objective lens, thus, two-part figures can be acquired simultaneously by the microscope with 1.67 to 9.26 micron optical resolution. The relative discrepancy between the two parts can be calculated from image plane coordinate instead of calculating the space transformation matrix. A modified microgripper was designed to clamp meso-scale parts and its effectiveness was confirmed experimentally. Through the use of the other vision system, the insert action can be successfully manipulated. A laser ranger finder was integrated in this micro-assembly system to measure the assembly result. Findings – A new 14-DOF robotic micromanipulator, including eight axes automatically and six axes manually, has been developed for the assembly of LIGA meso-scale flat parts and axle hole parts. The microassembly system with coaxial alignment function (MSCA) system is able to concurrently manipulate all eight axes automatically and six axes manually. Originality/value – The robotic microassembly is applied in the assembly of meso-scale parts. The new capabilities of the MSCA will allow for the assembly of microsystems more efficiently and more precisely.

Abstract:
Cohesive government-versus-opposition voting is a robust empirical regularity in Westminster democracies. Using new data from the modern Scottish Parliament, we show that this pattern cannot be explained by similarity of preferences within or between the government and opposition ranks. We look at differences in the way that parties operate in Westminster and Holyrood, and use roll call records to show that the observed behavior is unlikely to be determined by preferences on any underlying issue dimension. Using a simple variant of the agenda-setting model—in which members of parliament can commit to their voting strategies—we show that the procedural rules for reaching collective decisions in Westminster systems can explain this phenomenon: in the equilibrium, on some bills, members of the opposition vote against the government irrespective of the proposal. Such strategic opposition can reinforce government cohesiveness and have a moderating effect on policy outcomes. We introduce new data from the House of Lords, the Welsh Assembly, and the Northern Ireland Assembly to distinguish our claims from competing accounts of the data.

Abstract:
Just over a century ago, work commenced on the Chignecto Marine Transport Railway across the Isthmus of Chignecto. The ship railway involved the use of a hydraulic lift to raise large ships on a wheeled cradle. The cradle and the ship were to be towed across the Isthmus by two locomotives and then hydraulically lowered into the receiving waters. The project would transfer ships quicker and be less expensive than building a canal. A private company built the ship railway with the promise of an operating subsidy from the federal government. Financial problems brought the work to a standstill in August 1891. Despite what appeared to be a temporary setback, international economic and national political events prevented completion of the project. Today, the remains of the railbed, an arch culvert, and the foundations of the pump house are all that are left of this 19th century engineering innovation. The contemporary technical literature detailed many of the engineering feats at Chignecto. In 1891, Henry Ketchum, the New Brunswick engineer responsible for the concept and design, presented two concurrent papers on the ship railway to the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers. This paper documents the development of Chignecto Marine Transport Railway. Key words: history, civil engineering, Canadian, shipping, canals, marine railway, and politics.

Educational institutions are shutdown across the world due to Covid-19. Covid-19 has made every house a school and every guardian a teacher. There is hardly any control over a structured learning environment at home. Most of the school teachers are conducting classes either through video apps, online or other various e-learning sources. These are the external signs of paradigm shift in teaching learning styles. Many rural schools and the parents are devoid of facilities as much as the well e-equipped, e-friendly teachers of town schools. Teachers homes have become staff rooms, libraries, labs, playgrounds, assembly grounds and thus their homes have become a place for live telecast studios. Ample time is allotted by the teachers to prepare their lessons. Self preparations and wider discussions with their colleagues are leading them to be creative professional learners to teach skillfully. Keeping these aspects in mind, the scholar extensively discusses different nuances, which empowers teachers at home to be professional and creative. The scholar has focused central issues like crisis, method of crisis management, plans for continuity of teaching–learning skills, impact of pandemic lockdown, dreaming by teens for new milestones, role of teachers in the promotion of health education and time for deeper introspection.

Abstract: The article discuss the changes of indonesian political system in indonesia after the amendment of Indonesian Constitution of 1945 with the focus of the amendments of legislative, eecutive and judicative bodies. Legislative amendments is located in the emergence of a new body called DPD (Dewan Perwakilan Daerah of Regional Representative Assembly) as a part of MPR (Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat or People’s Consulatation Assembly) alongside DPR (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat or House of Representative). Such amendment is basically a modifictaion of bicameral system as that of the United States’ political system. Executive body amendments lies on direct election of president, limitation of presidential tenure up to two tenures of five years, and likeliness of presidential impeachment in case of breaking law and constitution. Amendment on judicative body is obviously apparent in the creation of Constitutional Court alongside the Supreme Court and Judicial comission which is in charge of safeguarding the judgeship profession.Kata Kunci: Amandemen, UUD, dan System Ketatanegaraan

Abstract:
Every year the Indian government is involved in the construction of nearly two million new buildings excluding the tertiary sector. These homes are not only intended primarily to house Indian populations, but the authorities concerned have also placed emphasis on sustainable development, since as all over the world the residential sector is the one that consumes the most energy. Indeed, active and passive strategies to reduce the energy consumption of dwellings have been established and even applied. Among the passive strategies, the global shape of the building, initially specific to modular architecture impacts the aesthetic part of the building but also its energetic bills. The concept of modular architecture is mainly the assembly of identical cells and, in different ways, the overall energy consumption depends on the initial assembly of the cells and therefore on the resulting shape of this assembly. The purpose of this article is to determine the impact of the shape on the energy balance. For this study, the container is the archetype used, in fact the metal box being a standardized, economical and easily transformable product in living space. The complex system resulting from the assembly of several containers offers a new way of thinking about housing from an architectural, economic, aesthetic and energetic point of view. In this article, we will focus on studying the impact of the overall shape of container-type housing on annual energy bill, with the aim of optimizing energy efficiency and achieving an eco-container model that meets international eco-sustainability criteria. The results demonstrate the undeniable correlation between geometric and energy aspects, the latter being mainly related to the internal thermal comfort of the container housing cells.

The article considers aspects of the tourism activity development. The scientific papers pay significant attention to development of tourism through the formation of tourism clusters and tourist destinations. Formation and development of tourist destinations is impossible without the hospitality sector. Hospitality is one of the important conditions for the formation of a tourist destination. Currently there is a high competition in the hospitality industry. During the 2015-2016 it is planned to open 20 hotels of international hotel chains (Marriott, Ibis, Hilton, Hyatt, Radisson, Novotel) with the average payback period of 5-6 years. The article presents the results of applying the additional services in accommodation facilities, which have been named the best in the competition "The best Russian hotels in 2015 (on guest reviews)" – Lotte Hotel Moscow, Hyatt Regency Yekaterinburg, Hotel « Hermitage», Ramada Kazan City Centre, Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace, Domina Prestige, Radisson Hotel, Pushka Inn Hotel, Swissotel Krasnye Holmy, Ararat Park Hyatt, Resort «Tsargrad», guest house "Alexander House”, boarding house Assembly, Mercure Moscow Baumanskaya. Additional services in these accommodation facilities have two features: they are not differentiated and are no innovative. According to the research, the authors propose to classify the hotel services by the number of satisfied requirements. The authors also represent two new hotel services and demonstrate the economic feasibility of the application of innovation.

Abstract:
Globally, parliament’s role in influencing policies is immense. In Kenya, the role of the national assembly in determining the direction and results of foreign policies, although, blurred cannot be underestimated. Kenya became a British protectorate in 1895 with a limited representation of Africans in the legislative Council (LegCo). The role of this minority group in influencing foreign policy, though, rarely documented need not be underestimated. The group threw Kenya into the world map and between 1900-1963, major foreign policy debates in the Council revolved around when and how Kenya was to become a self-governing entity. After gaining independence, new members of parliament had a herculean task of dealing with immediate local needs and debating and most importantly influencing important foreign policies including policies on health, education, debt burden, settler issues and representation of minority groups including whites in the House. With a change of guard from a white-dominated to an almost all African-black faces, the national assembly played an important role in ensuring that policies on health, education, security, trade as well as crafting the path on which foreign policy would take. This paper begins by tracing the evolution of parliament in the colonial administration and reviews the role that Kenyan Parliament played in influencing foreign policy from 1900 to 1978. The paper identifies the actors, their roles and the political context within which these actors and structures operated.

It is difficult to imagine Jonathan Edwards countenancing the “Confus'd, but very Affecting Noise” that erupted in Suffield, Massachusetts, on July 6, 1741. Yet there he stood, his loud voice rising in prayer above the din that emanated from an assembly of more than two hundred boisterous men and women who had gathered to listen to his exhortations in the “two large Rooms” of a private house. On the previous day, the visiting Northampton, Massachusetts, revivalist had administered the sacrament to nearly five hundred Suffield communicants, ninety-seven of whom had joined the church that very day. It was an extraordinary event—quite possibly the largest oneday church admission ritual ever observed in colonial New England.

Abstract:
2.5D/3D IC assembly is where the traditional foundry and assembly house model breaks down. The greatly reduced feature sizes of microbumps in combination with very large, thin interposers and ICs present many challenges for assembly. With densely integrated packages and stacked thin dies, warpage at various steps of assembly process can lead to die crack, weak or open interconnection, and delamination. Microbump die with copper pillar and solder cap lacks the flexibility of conventional BGA solder balls in warpage compensation. Low temperature dielectric materials for interposer backside passivation lack chemical, thermal stability and mechanical strength compared to similar materials cured at higher temperatures. Ultra- low stand-off between dies creates new challenge for flux residue removal and underfill processing, adhesion and reliability. In this paper, we present learning and results from building two Invensas 2.5D interposer test vehicles with rectangular (19mmx27mm) and square (24mmx24 mm) silicon interposers. Since the industry is still debating where the MEOL processes will take place, these two test vehicles use both assembly centric and fab centric flows. We conducted comprehensive material and process compatibility studies to meet our goal of process capability and product reliability. We explored three different interposer fabrication/ assembly flows that includes copper-to-copper bonding as well as solder capped copper pillar microbumps for microbump die to interposer connection. We optimized the interposer fabrication process to improve interposer quality and warpage. We instituted 100% bump inspection and tight control on microbump die quality and co-planarity to improve assembly yield. We developed robust soldering and cleaning processes to achieve high soldering process yield. We evaluated several methods of flux clean and developed a procedure to achieve optimal flux residue removal without causing mechanical damage to solder joints. We explored vacuum and pressure curing process for underfill and adopted advance underfill cure technology to eliminate voids in underfill. The impact of these factors on assembly yield and reliability will be presented.

This article highlights proper electrical grounding when roof structures have no fixed connections to the ground. The roof’s mechanization designers, at Uni-Systems Inc. in Minneapolis, decided to study the effects of an electrical impulse through a machine-bearing surface. Uni-Systems had been confident that implementing conventional copper shunt grounding to bypass the nonconductive points would solve one problem. However, once the path was shunted, current was routed to the wheels and bearings. Testing would be required to identify the effects of a lightning strike in a greased bearing. Uni-Systems returned to Neetrac to test a new assembly, consisting of a plain spherical bearing with fibriloid liner, an axle, and spacers, installed to an eye bracket machined to house the bearing and a clevis bracket. The tests showed that with shunt wires installed, a current with up to 20,000 amperes passing through the hinge has no adverse effect—either short or long term—on the hinge bearing. Thus, the hinge bearing assembly can be used as a part of the grounding path for lightning protection.

In December 1995 General Elections Took Place in Russia for the lower house of parliament, the Duma. In constitutional terms the Duma is a relatively weak body, comparable with the French National Assembly. It initiates and enacts legislation, but must find a two-thirds majority if it is to override a presidential veto. The December elections were, however, of a disproportionate significance. The fact that they were taking place was important in itself. The Duma elected in December 1995 was only the second Duma to be elected in post-Soviet Russia, and the first to be elected in relatively normal circumstances. (The preceding Duma had been elected in 1993 only after President Boris Yeltsin had used tanks against the old Supreme Soviet, created a new parliament almost literally out of its ashes, and legitimized his actions by means of a new constitution approved by a national referendum.)

Abstract:
While the role of British colonial governors has been subject to recent extensive analysis, the collective phenomenon of Victorian Members of Parliament taking up gubernatorial office remains largely unaddressed. Between 1828 and 1868, 38 former MPs were appointed to colonial governorships. With metropolitan administrators, who believed in the superiority of British institutions, seeking to introduce greater colonial self-government from the 1830s onwards, the careers of these former MPs offer a direct and personal example of the challenges of exporting the Westminster style of politics to the British world. This article analyses the extent to which MPs, who became colonial governors, drew on their experiences of Westminster culture, particularly the art of negotiating the public and private spheres of political life, when attempting to introduce self-government to their respective colonies. Four MPs with varying political experience are considered: Charles Poulett Thomson, governor-general of Canada, 1839–41; Arthur Hamilton Gordon, lieutenant-governor of New Brunswick, 1861–66; Sir Charles Edward Grey, governor of Jamaica, 1847–53, and his successor, Sir Henry Barkly, 1853–56. The article argues that when these MPs enjoyed a measure of success in bargaining with a colonial assembly, it was because they were able to cultivate an effective public persona while exploiting, through private correspondence, their connections with former colleagues at Westminster.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to propose a sub-pixel calibration method for a microassembly system with coaxial alignment function (MSCA) because traditional sub-pixel calibration approaches cannot be used in this system. Design/methodology/approach – The in-house microassembly system comprises a six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) large motion serial robot with microgrippers, a hexapod 6-DOF precision alignment worktable and a vision system whose optical axis of the microscope is parallel with the horizontal plane. A prism with special coating is fixed in front of the objective lens; thus, two parts’ Figures, namely the images of target and base part, can be acquired simultaneously. The relative discrepancy between the two parts can be calculated from image plane coordinate instead of calculating space transformation matrix. Therefore, the traditional calibration method cannot be applied in this microassembly system. An improved calibration method including the check corner detection solves the distortion coefficient conversely. This new way can detect the corner at sub-pixel accuracy. The experiment proves that the assembly accuracy of the coaxial microassembly system which has been calibrated by the new method can reach micrometer level. Findings – The calibration results indicate that solving the distortion conversely could improve the assembly accuracy of MSCA. Originality/value – The paper provides certain calibration methodological guidelines for devices with 2 dimensions or 2.5 dimensions, such as microelectromechanical systems devices, using MSCA.

Purpose – The paper aims to focus on in-house part logistics design and management for assembly systems in which supermarket storage is adopted and coupled with an automated transportation system. In this context, this work aims to assess the transportation mode selection problem to speed up the preliminary design phase. Design/methodology/approach – The paper is divided into two main parts. The first one provides and discusses a new conceptual framework derived from the authors’ experience in the field and from previous published works. The framework aims to support managers in problem comprehension by setting three problem sub-phases, key input parameters and qualitative guidelines without losing sight of the big picture. The second part focuses on the transportation mode selection sub-phase by assessing an analytical study followed by a multi-scenario analysis. Findings – The final outcome of this work is a decision support matrix capable of setting technical guidelines that are helpful to managers and practitioners to speed up the transportation mode selection problem in the preliminary phases. Originality/value – This work is beneficial for supporting managers in understanding the main decisional steps involved in the design of a part-feeding system with a supermarket by discussing the three problem sub-phases and key input parameters and providing both qualitative and quantitative guidelines. Moreover, this study explores the transportation mode selection problem, which is not yet largely explored in the published literature.

This article explores how performance and character can be used to represent the lives of real women in spaces of heritage. It focuses on two different site-specific performances created by the author in the South Ayrshire region of Scotland: CauseWay: The Story of the Alloway Suffragettes and In Hidden Spaces: The Untold Stories of the Women of Rozelle House. These were created with a practice-as-research methodology and aim to offer new models for the use of character in site-specific performance practice. The article explores the variety of methods and techniques used, including verbatim writing, spatial exploration, and Herstorical research, in order to demonstrate the ways in which women’s narratives were represented in a theoretically informed, site-specific manner. Drawing on Phil Smith’s mythogeography, and responding to Laurajane Smith’s work on gender and heritage, the conflicting tensions of identity, performance, and authenticity are drawn together to offer flexible characterization as a new model for the creation of feminist heritage performance. Victoria Bianchi is a theatre-maker and academic in the School of Education at the University of Glasgow. Her work explores the relationship between space, feminism, and identity. She has written and performed work for the National Trust for Scotland, Camden People’s Theatre, and Assembly at Edinburgh, among other institutions.

AbstractThe music industry has been made possible through performing rights based on a law introduced by the post-revolutionary French national assembly in 1791. However, it took until the mid-nineteenth century until a system of royalty collection was established in France (and another half a century or more in other countries). In France, this new system for non-dramatic performing rights was preceded by royalty regulations in theatres. This study describes how nineteenth century composers were compensated for their work in the Paris Opera through this performing right for drama, known as the ‘grand right’. The tariff-based compensation method had been put in place by a royalréglementin 1713. It created a classic winner-take-all phenomenon in which composers such as Auber, Meyerbeer, and Halévy thrived in the nineteenth century. A contributing fact was the opera house programming which, contrary to the programming of today, favoured new pieces. ‘Grand opéras’ were à la mode and they contributed to the financial success of their composers. However, these operas eventually lost their attraction. In 1884, the Paris Opera adopted a compensation system based on a percentage of box office revenues. The study is based on primary data for 1810–1866.

Although there is a consensus about the representative parliamentary system throughout Europe, it is in a state of crisis. To renovate Parliament means to restore the essential functions of that institution : budgetary power, legislative action and control of the government. In the field of budget a reform to institute a general budget on expenditure and to impose stricter rules on the funds as well as a very tight budgetary schedule for the government, beside the budget on revenues, was passed by the House at the end of March 1989.In the legislative sphere new approaches should be considered so as to enable Parliament to reduce the complexity of the legislation, to correct badly written texts and to get rid altogether of superfluous texts. The citizens' rights can only be fully safeguarded by a well functioning legislative assembly. A rationalisation of the control on governmental action is necessary in the field of parliamentary commissions and particularly the commissions of enquiry, petitions and the scrutiny of State expenditure. To conclude it should be noted that the renovation of Parliament must go hand in hand with better relations with the common citizen.

From March 30 to April 12, 2021, members of the French Senate considered the government-prepared draft law on «countering separatism». His ideology is primarily aimed at curbing the increased activity of supporters of «political Islam» (Islamism) in France. Earlier, on February 16, 2021, the National Assembly (lower house of parliament) had approved the document. As shown in the first part of the article, the discussion of the draft deepened the split in the Muslim community of France between followers of moderate Islam, who supported the efforts of the government, and Islamists, who rejected the main provisions of the document. This article attempts to analyze a new stage of relations between the state and the Muslim community of the country – against the background of the decisions made by the senators. Accusing the French government of «Islamophobia»”, Islamic radicals appeal to the leadership of the European Union. Behind them, the figure of the Turkish President R.T. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that the escalating confrontation in the Muslim environment and around it is acquiring more and more obvious political implications in France.

Abstract:
Background: Cancer is one of the major health and social-economic problems despite considerable progress in its early diagnosis and treatment. Owing to the emergence and increase of multidrug resistance to various conventional drugs, and the continuing importance of health-care expenditure, many researchers have focused on developing novel and effective anticancer compounds. Objective: Chemical repositories provide a good platform to evaluate and exploit known chemical entities for the identification of other biological activities. In the present study, we have selected an in-house library of synthesized compounds based on two different pharmacophoric scaffolds to evaluate their cytotoxic potency on various cancer cell lines and mechanisms of action. Methods: A series of in-house synthesized quinazoline and quinazolino-benzothiadiazine derivatives were investigated for their anticancer efficacy against a panel of five cancer (DU145, MCF7, HepG2, SKOV3 and MDA-MB-231) and one normal (MRC5) cell lines. Furthermore, the active compound of the study was investigated to elucidate the mechanism of cytotoxicity by performing series of experiments such as cell cycle analysis, inhibition of tubulin polymerization, alteration of mitochondrial membrane potential, determination of endocytic pathway for drug uptake pathway and combination drug treatment. Results: Among all the tested compounds, fifteen of them exhibited promising growth-inhibitory effect (0.15- 5.0μM) and induced cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase. In addition, the selected compounds inhibited the microtubule assembly; altered mitochondrial membrane potential and enhanced the levels of caspase-9 in MCF-7 cells. Furthermore, the active compound with a combination of drugs showed a synergistic effect at lower concentrations, and the drug uptake was mediated through clathrin-mediated endocytic pathway. Conclusion: Our results indicated that quinazoline and quinazolino-benzothiadiazine conjugates could serve as potential leads in the development of new anticancer agents.

While Cowie provides a broad-brush if ultimately flawed overview of labour’s declining influence during the 1970s, Sonnie and Tracy focus their attention on five radical organisations that challenged deep divisions of race to condemn inequality and oppression, and Berger similarly encompasses contributions evaluating the impact of a variety of left organisations including the Puerto Rican nationalist movement, indigenous and Black nationalist quests to establish self-determination, and the extraordinary Sojourner Truth Organization. This review critically evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of the arguments made by Sonnie and Tracy, Berger and Cowie and suggests how they may be helpful for future struggle.

Abstract:
When the Annual Report of Melbourne Philharmonic for 1899 complained about the lack of public support for new musical enterprises of the Society, it stated that more encouragement of the local press was needed so that ‘public curiosity might be excited, an artistic taste educated, and a desire created to hear what the Old World had approved’ (my italics). The domination of British opinion in the assembly of a music library for the Melbourne Philharmonic Society during the years of its existence in the nineteenth century, focusing upon the years 1876 to 1901, is investigated in Part I of this article. Factors influencing the choice of repertoire during this era – particularly the influence of the British publication The Musical Times and Singing-Class Circular (founded in 1844) – are noted. Examination of reports and reviews in the Musical Times supports the hypothesis that much of the new repertoire acquired by the Melbourne Philharmonic Society during these years was the direct result of opinions expressed in that publication, and the availability of performance materials publicized by Novello, Ewer, and Co. through the Musical Times, which was also published by Novello. ‘What J. Alfred Novello had on offer was unashamedly a house magazine … firmly dedicated to the advertisement of Novello's publications’. In the cultivation of musical taste, and in the development of libraries of choral societies, the activities of the publisher extended an authority far beyond the UK, placing the Musical Times in a formidable position of power throughout the English-speaking world. Part II explores three works to receive their Australian or Melbourne premieres at concerts given by the Philharmonic Society in the final quarter of the nineteenth century: each item was promulgated by the Musical Times.

Abstract:
For many years in car development the future customer was first represented by templates. Today and in fact for a long time now CAD tools are solely used for designing a car and therefore man had to be integrated into that environment as well. 1986 the German car industry joined in a research program to produce a common man model for the use in automotive design. This program called RAMSIS has been in practical use at BMW since the early nineties. All “static” situations can be assessed with RAMSIS today including dynamic movements of arms and legs. For entry and egress and for the final confirmation, three dimensional mock-ups are tested by a number of in-house test subjects. Their body dimensions have to be known in order to compare their assessments with the customer population. Therefore we regularly measure members of the research and development center using all methods, from the conventional yardstick to current laser scanning techniques. Hand in hand with DMU methods Virtual Reality has gained access to development processes. The goal of DMU, to eliminate the time consuming and expensive hardware loops and replace them as much as possible by digital models, is effectively supported by VR techniques that speed up processes by enhancing the man-machine-interaction. There is a wide range of application fields to use these techniques, e.g. design review, assembly and maintenance simulation and training. RAMSIS is integrated in the BMW VR environment with special extensions to allow immersive ergonomic research. Mixed mock-up applications are used to have virtual experiences, to verify or to train assembly procedures at an early stage of development and therefore eliminate problems as soon as possible. New concepts can be evaluated and assessed taking ergonomic aspects and disturbing influences into account.

Abstract:
The amendment to the 1945 Constitution after the 1998 reform is based on the experience of the practice of state administration by the old and new order governments which are often referred to as authoritarian government systems, both overt and covert. The 1945 Constitution indeed gives enormous power to the President, both Sukarno and Suharto. Weaknesses contained in the 1945 Constitution that triggers the birth of the demands of the reformists to make amendments to the 1945 Constitution, especially concerning the power and term of office of the President. It is important to realize that after the 1945 Constitution is amended, it has very basic implications for the structure of the Republic of Indonesia. Before the amendment to the 1945 Constitution the existing state institutions are the People's Consultative Assembly, the President, the People's Representative Council, the Supreme Consultative Council, the Supreme Audit Board and the Supreme Court, whose titles are divided into two, namely the highest state institutions which are embedded in the People's Consultative Assembly, and the other is a high-level state institution. After changes or amendments to the 1945 Constitution from 1999 to 2002 have implications for changes in the structure of existing state institutions and the number becomes more than before the change. The state institutions after the change are explicitly mentioned in the nomenclature such as: the People's Consultative Assembly, the House of Representatives, the Regional Representative Council, the Regional People's Representative Council, the President and Vice President, the Minister (Specially the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defense ) Governor, Regent, Mayor, Indonesian National Army, Republic of Indonesia National Police, Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, Judicial Commission and Supreme Audit Board. While there are other state institutions whose nomenclature is not mentioned explicitly namely; Advisory Council, Election Commission and Central Bank. As a consequence of the amendment to the 1945 Constitution, the constitutional system adopted has also changed. If before the change to the constitutional system adopted is the cameral union representative system, but after the change into the bicameral system, some even called it tri kameral

Abstract:
Purpose – The aim of this paper is to develop a detailed descriptive model for kitting operations, allowing resources sizing and computation of systems’ economic performances. Design/methodology/approach – A mathematical model allows to size resources, given product characteristics and production mix, and determines total system costs by assessing relevant cost items including investment costs (vehicles, containers, storage racks), direct operating costs (transport and kitting workforce, vehicles energy consumption and maintenance, quality costs), indirect operating costs (space requirements, work in process (WIP) and safety stock holding costs, administration and control). Findings – The choice of parts delivery supply to assembly lines requires a thorough economic comparison of alternatives. However, existing models are often simplistic and neglect many critical factors which affect the systems’ performances. As a consequence, industries are unsure about which system is best for their environment. This model allows assessment of the cost and suitability of kitting in any specific industrial setting. Results of the model application are case-specific and cannot be generalized, but the major impact of labour and error correction cost has been highlighted. Research limitations/implications – The model at present focusses on the in-house kitting systems based on travelling kits concept only. Although all quantitative cost drivers are included, some context-related qualitative decision factors are not yet included. The model assumes that the information about product structure and part requirements is known and that a preliminary design of the assembly system (i.e. line balancing) has been carried out. Practical implications – Production managers are given a quantitative decision tool to properly assess the implementation of kitting policies at an early decision stage. This allows exploring the trade-offs between the alternatives and properly planning the adoption of kitting systems, as well as comparing kitting with alternative material supply methods. Originality/value – With respect to previous simplified literature models, this new approach allows quantification of a number of additional factors which are critical for successful implementation of cost-effective kitting systems, including kitting errors. An exhaustive cost estimation of kitting systems in multiple, mixed-model assembly lines is thus permitted.

Abstract:
This article reports on the project "Design and development of water and gas P.L. measurement devices in the housing: an approach to sustainable consumption in Mexico", prepared at the Metropolitan Autonomous University in the Department of the Environment, whose objective was to develop a device to measure water consumption in the housing, which allows users to know their spending and can make decisions in favor of efficiency through the reduction of water use in household activities. The meter is made up of open source, programmable or reconfigurable software, which receives the signal from a water flow sensor and a casing designed to contain the hardware and facilitate the user's installation. Both the hardware and the casing can be purchased, downloaded, manufactured and assembled at home (Do It Yourself). As specific results were obtained: hardware programming and housing design and as a final result: the assembly of the functional prototype with which measurements of water consumption were made in a housing in Mexico. With this work we conclude that through the development of new accessible and common measurement technologies for the users of a house, it will be possible to promote efficiency in the use of natural resources in cities, increasing availability and promoting a more sustainable urban development.

Abstract:
In this communication, a new methodological approach is proposed to develop a biomimetic metallic femoral stem. The design of this stem starts with the definition of an outer skin by reproducing the shape and overall dimensions of a Stryker® femoral stem to be implanted in an artificial femur model from Sawbones®. In-house algorithms are then used to generate two types of porous structures inside the outer skin: either a stochastic cubic-based porous structure or an ordered diamond-type porous structure. Next, a model of the femur-stem assembly is developed using the finite element method. The fully dense Stryker stem replica and two porous stems are fabricated using selective laser melting technology. Then, comparative mechanical testing is carried out using the ISO 7206-4 (2010) guidelines. These tests are conducted on an intact artificial femur (reference case) and on the identical femurs, but now implanted with the fully dense and porous stems. Using digital image correlation tools, the results of four series of tests are compared to assess which implant design leads to the lowest stress shielding in the implanted femur. Finally, the experimentally measured strain fields are compared to the numerical predictions to validate the numerical models.

Abstract:
Embedded capacitor technology can improve electrical performance and reduce assembly cost compared with traditional discrete capacitor technology. Polymer–ceramic composites have been of great interest as embedded capacitor material because they combine the processability of polymers with the desired electrical properties of ceramics. A novel nano-structure polymer–ceramic composite with very high dielectric constant (εr∼150, a new record for the highest reportedεrvalue of nano-composite) has been developed in our previous work. RF application of embedded capacitors requires that insulating material have high dielectric constant at high frequency (GHz), low leakage current, high breakdown voltage and high reliability. A set of electrical tests have been conducted in this work to characterize the properties of the in house developed novel high dielectric constant polymer–ceramic nano-composite. Results show that this material has faily high dielectric constant in the RF range, low electrical leakage and high breakdown voltage. 85/85 TH aging test has been performed and it had shown this novel high K material has good reliability. An embedded capacitor prototype with capacitance density of35 nF/cm2has been manufactured using this nano-composite with spinning coating technology. This novel nano-composite can be used for the integral capacitors in the RF applications.
