Abstract:
Our current economic model is a disaster for our planet. Linearities and inequalities cannot continue to be the motor of growth (Meadows, 2006). Extracting without regenerating, transforming without fully exploiting and throwing without reusing are dominant practices when looking at a typical product life cycle. Innovation and entrepreneurial spirit is needed to transform problems into opportunities. To do so, a fresh look should be welcomed. This is what this dissertation is about; studying the feasibility of bringing a new way of doing business while solving environmental and social issues t

As a result, this thesis finishes with the design of a business plan for a platform that will aggregate the restaurants that deliver food with their own couriers and will provide management services (logistics, billing or marketing, for example) to the

How can people's risk preferences be understood? Work from prospect theory (Kahneman & Tversky, 1979) claimed that not only are people risk averse in the gain domain, but people are also risk seeking in the loss domain. Nonetheless, different opinions have appeared (e.g. March & Shapira, 1987; Sitkin & Pablo, 1992) casting doubt on the claim that people seek risk only in the loss domain; this is considered a fundamental disagreement about prospect theory. In order to bridge this gap, theoretical justification was examined in this study and it was found this disagreement originated from the arb

Over the last years, restaurants have been forced to adapt to new circumstances. Changing eating trends, technological advancements and fierce competition made it harder for some to stay afloat. On top of that, a global pandemic compelled everyone to shut their doors overnight, posing extra pressure on the sector. The latest consumer trend indicates strong affluence to online food delivery services and many restaurants are struggling to respond to this shift and evolve accordingly.
