This paper presents the analysis and proposal to qualify new statistics of public interest in France. It describes the present situation regarding the qualification of statistics produced independent of the National Statistical System and the challenges related to their emergence, as these statistics may complement and sometimes challenge official statistics. The authors propose a three-tier mechanism; the first level is limited to self-documentation of a statistic based on a predefined template, the second level is the approval of such documentation, and the third level involves the approval

In two-channel microarray experiments, the image analysis extracts red and green fluorescence intensities. The ratio of the two fluorescence intensities represents the relative abundance of the corresponding DNA sequence. The subsequent analysis is performed by taking a log-transformation of this ratio. Therefore, the statistical analyses depend on accuracy of the ratios calculated from the image analysis. However, not many studies have been proposed for developing more reliable ratio statistics. In this paper, we consider a new type of log-transformed ratio statistic. We compare the new ratio

Abstract:
In this paper, we present two new realizations of infinite statistics and construct their respective number operators in a simple manner. One of the realizations assumes the individual oscillators to be bosonic but the mutually commutation relationship (CR) to be of the quonic form. Interestingly, the system of mutually commuting oscillators satisfying individual relations of the type [Formula: see text] (no sum over i) is shown to describe a collection of bosons. This demonstrates that for these examples the mutual CRs between the oscillators decide the statistics.

AbstractThe damped Lyman-α absorption-line systems (DLAs) that are observed in quasar spectra arise in neutral-gas-rich regions of intervening galaxies. With the highest neutral hydrogen column densities observed (N(HI) ⩾ 2 × 1020 atoms cm−2), they are known to trace the bulk of the neutral gas content of the Universe, and are thus powerful probes of galaxy formation and evolution. However, DLAs are extremely rare, and since the Lyman-α line falls in the UV for redshifts z < 1.65, not many are known at low redshift due to the limited availability of space data.
