Abstract:
With over 0.25 billion web pages hosted in the World Wide Web, it is virtually impossible to navigate through the Internet. Many applications try to help users achieve this task. For example, search engines build indexes to make the entire World Wide Web searchable, and news curators allow users to browse topics of interest on different structured sites. One problem that arises for these applications and others with similar goals is identifying documents with similar contents. This helps the applications show users documents with unique contents as well as group various similar documents under

Online news has grown in frequency and popularity as a convenient source of information for several years. A result of this drastic surge is the increased competition for viewer-ship and prolonged relevance of online news websites. Higher demands by internet audiences have led to the use of sensationalism such as ‘clickbait’ articles or ‘fake news’ to attract more viewers. The subsequent shift in the journalistic approach in new media opened new opportunities to study the behaviour and intent behind the news content. However, most studies investigated the electronic news, and the clustering is based on the content of news. They did not figure that news title have the characteristics of high recognition in different clusters. Also, the traditional method, VSM lacks of semantic concepts and still can’t solve the problems of homonymy and synonym. It seriously affects the quality of news clustering. Therefore, in our study, we aim to precisely cluster the news events and avoid the interfe

A traditional data retrieval system uses a word-form based comparison approach to get the search results. Although this approach is able to handle huge amount of information, it still suffers from the semantic problem. On the other hand, the conceptual retrieval system can get an improvement by using vector space model ( VSM ) but this system is restricted to the curse of dimensionality. In order to handle large
