Abstract:
Solving nonlinear equation systems for engineering applications is one of the broadest and most essential numerical studies. Several methods and combinations were developed to solve such problems by either finding their roots mathematically or formalizing such problems as an optimization task to obtain the optimal solution using a predetermined objective function. This paper proposes a new algorithm for solving square and nonsquare nonlinear systems combining the genetic algorithm (GA) and the homotopy analysis method (HAM). First, the GA is applied to find out the solution. If it is realized,

Northern Thai culture offers a rich variety of traditional fermented foods beneficial for gastrointestinal health. In this study, we characterized lactic acid bacteria (LAB) from various indigenous fermented foods as potential probiotic candidates and determined their properties for application in commercial synbiotic formulation. Five isolates demonstrating high tolerance to low pH (2.0) and 0.3% bile salts were collected and characterized. These included three strains of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum isolated from nham (NB1, NP2, and NP11) and two strains of Limosilactobacillus fermentum iso

ABSTRACT Escherichia coli NhaR controls expression of a sodium/proton (Na+/H+) antiporter, NhaA. TheVibrio cholerae NhaR protein shows over 60% identity to those of Escherichia coli and Salmonella enteritidis. V. cholerae NhaR complements an E. coli nhaR mutant for growth in 100 mM LiCl–33 mM NaCl, pH 7.6, and enhances the Na+-dependent induction of an E. colichromosomal nhaA::lacZ fusion. These findings indicate functional homology to E. coli NhaR. TwoV. cholerae nhaR mutants were constructed by using kanamycin resistance cartridge insertion at different sites to disrupt the gene. NOSs (nitric oxide synthases) catalyse the oxidation of L-arginine to L-citrulline and nitric oxide via the intermediate NOHA (Nω-hydroxy-L-arginine). This intermediate is rapidly converted further, but to a small extent can also be liberated from the active site of NOSs and act as a transportable precursor of nitric oxide or potent physiological inhibitor of arginases. Thus its formation is of enormous importance for the nitric-oxide-generating system. It has also been shown that NOHA is reduced by microsomes and mitochondria to L-arginine. In the present study, we show for the first time tha

Abstract Background: Breast cancer continues to be one of the most commonly diagnosed malignancies. With improved survival in early-stage breast cancer due to significant advancement over the decades, survivorship care and monitoring for second primary malignancies (SPMs) have become increasingly important. A recent study has demonstrated significant increase in risk for developing SPMs including leukemia in stage I and II breast cancer survivors at a latency of 2 years. It is unclear whether the development of these SPMs is also due to shared abnormalities in underlying molecular pathways or

Abstract Background: Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the United States and breast cancer (BC) is projected to be the most common cancer diagnosis in 2024. Further, BC, lung/bronchus, colorectal and pancreatic cancers are projected to contribute to nearly 50% of all cancer deaths. Prior SEER analysis of early-stage BC survivors demonstrated a statistically significant increase in the development of lung, tongue, salivary gland, gastric, colon and genitourinary cancers compared to the general population. However, very little is known about the racial differences in the develop
