Abstract:
The study was undertaken to assess the distribution of the ABO blood groups in Kaduna metropolis, Nigeria. Blood group types of forty-three thousand, nine hundred and nineteen (43,919) people were collected from eight different hospitals in Kaduna metropolis over a period of four years. These hospitals are easily accessible by all groups and classes of people because of their location. Phenotypic and allelic frequencies were determined to understand the distribution pattern of the ABO blood groups. In this research, the pollen micromorphology of nine species belonging to Honorius, Loncomelos, Ornithogalum and Stellarioides are observed by LM (Light Microscopy), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and two species by TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy). Lately, the phylogenetic studies have determined nineteen monophyletic genera in subfamily Ornithogaloideae (=tribe Ornithogaleae). Variation in the content of bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity was evaluated in fourteen apricot varieties grown in north India. In the present study, the bioactive composition of apricot varieties of north Indian Kashmir was assessed by HPLC-MS/MS and their contribution towards free radical scavenging was assessed using DPPH, FRAP and ABTS assays. Studies revealed that content of bioactive compounds in apricot varieties was found to vary significantly (p ≤ 0.05) among cultivars. The genus Olios Walckenaer, 1837 is revised, a generic diagnosis is given and an identification key to eight species groups is provided. Olios in its revised sense includes 87 species and is distributed in Africa, southern Europe and Asia. Three species groups are revised in this first part, an identification key to species for each group is provided, five new species are described and all included species are illustrated.  Analisou-se o perfil de estado de humor e a concentração de cortisol salivar em praticantes de “futebol sete”, com idade acima de 55 anos, antes, durante e após uma partida competitiva. Foram avaliados 19 jogadores por meio do Perfil do Estado de Humor e a concentração do cortisol salivar em diferentes momentos do jogo. Os dados foram analisados pelo de teste de Wilcoxon, Anova de Medidas Repetidas e correlação de Spearman. Em relação as características pessoais, verificou-se que os praticantes de “Futebol Sete” apresentaram um nível de atividade física considerado muito ativo (31,60%)
