Abstract:
The genus Avicularia Lamarck, 1818 is revised and all species are rediagnosed. The type species, described as Aranea avicularia Linnaeus, 1758, is the oldest mygalomorph species described and its taxonomic history is extensive and confusing. Cladistic analyses using both equal and implied weights were carried out with a matrix of 46 taxa from seven theraphosid subfamilies, and 71 morphological and ecological characters. The optimal cladogram found with Piwe and concavity = 6 suggests Avicularia and Aviculariinae are monophyletic. Subfamily Aviculariinae includes Avicularia Lamarck, 1818, Typho

Abstract:
The paper presents comparison of main diagnostic characters of all recognizable species of genera Euophrys C.L. Koch, 1834, Pseudeuophrys Dahl, 1912 and Talavera Peckham & Peckham, 1909, also delimiting new genus Euochin from China. All that purports to illustrate the current state of classification suggests progress and improvements. Discussed postulates include adding color macrophotograps of live specimens to the routine tools of research, and routine use of precisely documented palps and internal structures of epigyne. Implementation of the above will require change of research protoco

DE GRAVE, SAMMY, and ARTHUR ANKER. "Designation of Synalpheus pectiniger Coutiere, 1907 as a nomen protectum and its senior synonym Alpheus praecox Herrick, 1888 as a nomen oblitum (Crustacea, Decapoda, Alpheidae)." Zootaxa 2642, no. 1 (2010): 53. http://dx.doi.org/10.11646/zootaxa.2642.1.5.

Abstract:
Alpheus praecox Herrick, 1888, previously regarded as nomen nudum, nomen dubium or a possible senior synonym of Synalpheus brevicarpus (Herrick, 1891), is shown to be a senior synonym of Synalpheus pectiniger Coutière, 1909. However, because A. praecox has not been used as a valid name since 1899, whereas S. pectiniger on the other hand appeared as valid species in at least 29 publications signed by numerous authors, A. praecox is herewith designated nomen oblitum, with S. pectiniger becoming nomen protectum.

Abstract:
The earthworm fauna of tropical Africa is clearly understudied. This is mainly due to the lack of local earthworm researchers. Nigeria is an exception in this regard with an excellent earthworm researcher A.O. Segun and his successor S.O. Owa describing some 30 earthworm species belonging to the family Eudrilidae. Recently, Aladesida & Ova (2015) published descriptions of four new earthworm genera and species; Adodrilus stephana (Megascolecidae), Ekitidrilus alabataensis, Paranematogenia eyinwaensis (Ocnerodrilidae), and Imekodrilus hexagastricus (Moniligastridae).
