The peculiarities of their verbalization have been analyzed in the texts of German newspapers since the first half of the 20-th century. The semantic analysis of the deverbal nouns is based on different texts from the German press and this fact proves that they maintain the aspectual meanings of the verbs they are derived from. When Turkic-speaking Tabghatch conquered China in 386 ce and ruled her for nearly 200 years, they, being minority rulers, elected to take up Chinese writing system and language as the official means of communication with its subject population. They also ended up adopting the writing system to script the Turkic language for their Turkic population resulting into a Xianbei National Language (xnl). This work describes 7 cases of Turkic-rooted Sinitic functional expressions, all featuring the word 的 [d-], supported with historical citations in Chinese documents, believed to be cultural continua o

Abstract:
I describe and analyze the phonological form and historical trajectory of nominal derivatives in A’ingae (ISO 639-3: con), an underdocumented Amazonian isolate. Some words historically derived with otherwise preglottalized nominalizers have no glottalization today. I propose that these “exceptions” are reflexes of originally glottalized words, which underwent semantic shift and lost glottalization due to contamination from the plain (i.e. non-glottalized) majority. The paper thus documents a rare case where non-productive morphological patterns are the innovation, not retention.

In Meithei, a Tibeto-Burman language of Northeast India, the noun pí ‘grandmother’ has undergone divergent paths of semantic change, developing on the one hand into a productive nominalizer and on the other into suffixes whose meanings are derived through metonymical extensions (SMALLER VERSION, BEST EXEMPLAR, SALIENT CHARACTERISTIC, PROJECTION, INSTRUMENT and AGENT). The Meithei data illustrate the role of culture in metonymic change and the role of metonymic change in creation of productive and lexicalized morphology.

This article describes the relativization strategies found in Thulung Rai (Eastern Nepal, Tibeto-Burman, Kiranti subgroup). The strategies make use of three morphemes: a finite nominalizer -m (along with allomorph -mim), and two participial markers, -pa and -ma, and have different distributions in terms of the arguments they can relativize upon. Of particular interest is the question of the distribution of strategies available for relativization on subjects, and how these correlate with case marking and the person-based split ergative system found in Thulung.

Abstract Two 2nd person verbal indexation forms are reconstructed back to Proto-Trans-Himalayan (PTH): a suffix #-n(a) (Bauman 1975; DeLancey 1989, 2014; H. Sun 1983, 1995; van Driem 1993; Watters 2002), and a prefix #tV- (Watters 2002; Jacques 2012; DeLancey 2011a, 2014). While #-n(a) is in paradigmatic distribution with other suffixal forms, the prefixal position of #tV-raises the question of its functional origin. DeLancey (2011a, 2014: 23) suggests hypothetically that #tV- finds its origin either in a non-finite nominalization or in an irrealis nominalization, “ideal for an impersonal 2nd

Această particularitate se perpetuează tot mai agresiv, determinând structurile convenționale ale Forțelor Terestre să opereze pentru a face față atât forțelor regulate, cât și celor neregulate, chiar și în cadrul aceleiași AO. Abstract Bimanese is an interesting language to observe because it is located in the area between two types of languages, namely an af xed language and an unaf xed language (Satyawati, 2010, p. 2). With such conditions, of course Bimanese will have characteristics in both languages. From several studies (Ara k (2007), Jauhari (2000), Owens (2000), and Satyawati (2010), studies related to noun constituents have not been studied. The results of previous studies focused more on general syntactic studies, especially on syntactic relations and the valence of Bimanese, even though it is really very i
