Abstract:
Abstract Non-linear behaviour is usually undesirable for the operation of any system and it needs to be minimised in flight control systems in order to provide the pilot with a predictable and well-behaved aircraft. The non-linear response characteristics exhibited by all aircraft and their flight control systems can be characterised by using nonlinear functions to simulate and analyse their behaviour. This paper explores the types of physical non-linearities that exist in aircraft flight control systems and provides some examples. It describes how the non-linear stability might be analysed an

We analyse here how Dynamic Data Driven Application Systems (DDDAS) can constitute a valuable tool in the field of forming processes. Simulation tools in the field of DDDAS are required to provide a response in real-time, a requisite that is often too severe for complex problems. Here, we consider that of hyperelasticity, commonly used in different fields such as rubber manufacturing or surgery, for instance. We analyse here how model reduction techniques, and particularly Proper Generalized Decompositions (PGD) methods can provide a suitable response to the strong requirements posed by DDDAS.

Analysis of chaotic time series is common in many fields of science and engineering. It arises primarily from massive interactions between the many different parts of a non-linear system or in non-linear physical phenomena that are intrinsically complex. It is important to analyse the time series of these non-linear dynamic systems based on chaos theory. In recent years, many researchers on heart dynamics have demonstrated that chaos really exists in heart movements. From the asymptotic analysis, it is shown that out-of-plane motions of the disc exist in the symmetric rotor.
