Abstract:
Islamic banks have become alternative intermediary institutions in the banking industry and are expected to play a significant role in the financial system. Therefore, this study aims to examine Islamic banks’ contribution to financial stability, also focusing on the underlying contracts implemented in financing activities from the perspective of a non-linear relationship. The study employs time-series data from 2006m1 to 2021m11 and adopts non-linear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL). The findings reveal that the presence of Islamic banks has a non-linear influence on financial stability

Abstract:
This paper describes a stochastic approach to the vibration behavior of a nonlinear damping structure. The deterministic approach is based on motion equations including the non-linearity of damping. For the stochastic calculation, the deviations were assigned to the input parameters of the mathematical model. The probabilistic distribution of these parameters must reflect real operational situations. Numerical simulations were performed with MATLAB using the Monte Carlo and perturbation method. The resulting curves for the parameters studied can find a practical application in the optimization

In this work a solution approach for non-linear multi-filed problems is presented. The approach is based on co-operative usage of several advanced techniques inside a single environment instead of combining several different systems. The objective of this work is to demonstrate the applicability of advanced computational techniques to complex numerical problems and to present advantages of a co-operative solution environment in the development of finite elements. Energy harvesting is one of the methods that currently engage actively in energy “recycling”. Of the many energy sources that carry the potential to have energy harvested and recycled, humans are seen as a potential source of energy. High amounts of energy are wasted from daily activities that humans do, if only a portion of the wasted energy can be harvested and reused with the aim of improving the quality of life of the user. To do that, the accelerations of selected movements are recorded from sensors attached to four different locations of the body. Human movements operate on a low and wid

These include, linear profile representations that exclude term dependencies and may only effectively represent a single topic of interest, and linear learning algorithms that achieve a steady profile adapta

Image filtering methods are designed to enhance noisy images captured in situations that are problematic for the camera sensor. Such noisy images originate from unfavourable illumination conditions, camera motion, or the desire to use only a low dose of ionising radiation in medical imaging. This is achieved by modeling and deriving energy functionals which in turn are minimized to attain a state of minimum energy. This stat

These are defined in terms of invariant manifolds in the system’s phase space, on which the uncoupled system dynamics can be studied. Two different methodologies which were previously developed to derive the non-linear normal modes of continuous systems — one based on a purely continuous approach, and one based on a discretized approach where the theory developed for discrete systems can be applied — are simultaneously applied to the same study case — an

A “systems thinking” (ST) approach generally recognises that international development processes are complex, inter-related, non-linear, and constantly changing. They involve many different types of actors, all with different levels of power. Thus, this rapid literature review seeks to find out what are some examples of ‘systems thinking’ projects in international development. The aim of this rapid review is to provide
