Non-performing Assets is a ratio necessary when identifying financial distress effect on asset quality of financial institutions in Kenya specifically commercial banks in Kenya. Financial distress and asset quality have often been discussed separately in details, but not as satisfactorily this is because of its role of asset quality on distress risk levels of commercial banks. The current research established the distressing effect of non-performing assets on asset quality of Kenyan commercial banks. The Indian banking system is plagued with non-performing assets (NPAs). Non-Performing Asset (NPA) is a loan that is in jeopardy of avoidance. Banks in their account books enter loans and advances as assets which add interest income to the banks. Any reduction in these assets affects the liquidity income of banks and accordingly the profitability. As the NPAs disturb the lending capacity of banks, it affects the potential unaffected borrowers. NPAs are the main reason for draining and flagging the financial strength of the Banks. Abstract This paper introduces a novel approach for inspecting non-rigid structures, which are difficult to assess using traditional methods due to their flexibility and susceptibility to deformation. Our method enables comprehensive geometric inspection by integrating mobile robotics and 3D laser scanning. The system autonomously navigates around the structure, performing high-resolution scans with real-time adjustment of scanning parameters for optimal coverage. Non-rigid registration techniques align the acquired data with the structure’s CAD model, enhancing defect identification accuracy.

Abstract One of the greatest industrial challenges for the oil & gas sector to address is the decommissioning of offshore assets along mature basins. The O&G Decommissioning sector highlights a key focus on low-carbon opportunities to reduce decommissioning costs, achieve ambitious emission targets, and accelerate the energy transition. This paper seeks to exploit synergies between the oil & gas and renewable sectors to reduce costs associated with oil and gas decommissioning. Firstly, the study employs a geospatial-based multi criteria site selection to identify potential energy h

This paper studies whether supervisory actions, namely provisioning guidelines on non-performing loans (NPLs), affect banks’ NPL cleansing and lending behaviour, as well as the real economy. Using the supervisory intervention announced by the European Central Bank in the first quarter of 2018 as a quasi-natural experiment, we show that banks disposed of old NPLs at a higher rate after the policy shift. Banks that were more heavily exposed to the policy tightened their lending standards, especially for risky firms. Furthermore, banks with stronger fundamentals were more keen on disposing NPLs a

I. Performance of Credit Institutions (CIs) CIs in Colombia have adequate capital and liquidity levels to face risk materialization, both at the individual and consolidated levels. As of the third quarter of 2024, total assets and the gross loan portfolio of CIs continued to contract, although at a slower pace. The contraction in the loan portfolio is explained by the recovery in disbursements, in an environment of declining interest rates and a recovery in credit demand. Compared to the first quarter of 2024, the loan portfolio reported a decline in non-performing loans, although default leve
