Full textThe business environment at the end of the 20th century requires that corporations should efficiently manage their information ressources, to wich purpose new information technologies (nit : informatics and telecommunications) can be a great help. However, it is not the present business environment justifies the importance of information ressources, we may add further reason, of genial and technological character. From a general point of view, it may be said that the importance of information within the firms is but me reflection on such social organizations of something that is changing at a global level, wich is said to be entering a new order that has been termed as postindustrial society, or information society amongst other definitions. Nevertheless, in the information society, changes in organizations caused by the introduction of new information technologies are inevitable as organizations are compelled by external environment to be efficient and competitive in order to survive. On a technological level, the progress and generalization of the so-called new information technologies have also played a major role in conferring information ressources me strategic character they possess within organizations. Once mis has been said, one of the purpose of our work is to present our hypothesis that the role to be played by new information technologies within thes organizations should consist on puttin the power of these technologies at the service of an efficient management of information ressources, thus opening a way to have at our disposal the quality in information as required by any firm deserving to be described as adpatable, quick responding, aware of the threats and opportunities of an increasingly internationalized environment, and willing to cater for any present and potential needs of its customers. Come to this point, we would like to to state that another of the purpose of this paper is to show that traditional organizational structures are dissolving and new forms of organizations are emerging. We have tried to outline the organizational changes that the introduction of new information technologies might involve. The main question pointed in our work is wich we might group under the name of +the relationships between nit and organizational structures ;. At this stage, our main hypothesis is + does the growth of nit contribute to the emergence of

Full textThe office autonation phenomenon has fora long time been limited to a personal and responsive information technology. The purpose of this thesis is to demonstrate to what extempt the computerization of contemporary business management is governed by this primary underlying principle. Our analysis starts from an observation of the sphere of information technology which brings in a number of present restructuring (in the industry, the profession. . . ). The emergence of new actors and the implementation of new strategies - brought about by computer suppliers, users. . . - are taking over rhe role previously played by technicians. This phenomenon is revealing the progressive importance played by the users in the construction of computer technic. Software publishing, as the emergence of communication services or on line information, are based on distincts logics than those computer technicians would have developed. They must be considered as breaking point in the computerization process of business work. These two expressions of the office autamationphenomenon also indicate the present structuration of the information technology market which, by a large diffusion of products and services, create another rationality of computer technic. There is, on a local level inbusiness firms, a reconstitution and a readjustment of the capacities and responsibilities normally assumed by manufacturers (equipment supliers, providers of services) users and technicians. Our questioning is focused on the development of the role and the status of computer scientists in the individualization of practicies in the field of information technology. Observing the aside position of technicians when they face the idea of social construction, we have attempted to deal with questions related to the cultural and ideoliogical fondation of information technology; we think that, in the technician rationality, there are elements which allow one to understand conflicts

Full textFacing the development of new information technologies, managers ask themselves a fundamental question : what is the impact of these technologies on their growth strategies ? (integration, diversification). The transaction costs analysis of the new information technologies-strategy relationship raises two contradictory results: the integrating capacities of electronic hierarchies diminish internal organizational costs thus enabling further growth through internalization. But the advantages of growing through internalization are also decreasing since interorganizational information systems and electronic markets reduce transaction costs. This allows externalization for more flexibility in an ever changing competitive environment. The final impact of information technologies, as proposed in this thesis, is the emergence of alternative growth strategies : the network strategies, unique combinations of strategy-structure-management processes for the xxi century

Full textThe organisational changes could be characterized as a constant forming integral part of the life of the organizations so much those are confronted there with one moment or another. These changes are described in a partial way (according to studied variables) or generally (according to the reports presented) by many theorists. The purpose of this search is not to remain in the line of former work, but rather to bring innovative elements to this complex phenomenon, so much with regard to the variables which are taken into account (NTIC, sociological aspects of the actors, etc), that what relates to the methodology of search and the framework in which it is presented. Thus, which puts forward this thesis, is the fact that the organisational changes and those of the human resources function (regarded as an organisational subsystem) are imbricated, and they interact owing to a necessary coherence. The reports presented here are resulting of an empirical study undertaken close to a sample of 200 enterprises according to a longitudinal and qualitative approach, and analysed on a triptych framework made of systemics, contextualists and constructivists considerations

Full textThe birth of New Information Technologie (NIT) has changed the economic data, entailing a modification of the productivity. This study aims at making an economic evaluation of the impact of Information Technologies (IT). After a theoretical explanation aiming at including NIT within the economic thought, this research will analyse the major changes from a macroeconomic point of view. To do so, it relies on the American economic system, where Information Technologies are more developed. We will then develop two Computable General Equilibrium models : the first one studies the contribution of technological progress-IT to the American economic system between 1954-2000, pointing out the break in terms of technological progress-IT in 1974. The second model underlines the evolution of the employment market for unqualified workers and uses sensitivity and economic policies analysis to identify the most appropriate measures

Full textThis thesis focuses on the constitutive role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the Uyghur diaspora. The sociological approach adopted in this thesis not only examines the aspects of politics and communication of this issue, but also allows a historical and geographical study which also takes into account the ideological, social, institutional and organizational points of view, as Uyghur communities abroad start to be visible and create formal organizations representing their cause. The first section of the thesis highlights, through ICT, a complex network of institutionalized Uyghur communities that interact with each other and their countries of origin, and demonstrates that the World Uyghur Congress is the most dominant of these associations. The second section shows, through quantitative and qualitative analysis of the mapping of the Uyghur web in 2010 and in 2016, the contributions and limitations of ICT in the diaspora construction process. This cross analysis sheds light in the third section on the forms of identities that are constructed, such as ethno-national, ethno-cultural or ethno-religious identity, and the social compromises tentatively formed through the negotiation process in virtual space and in the institutions. This study reveals the different purposes sought by both official and lambda actors and examines how new forms of regulation are likely to reach a new compromise between the actors. Presently, however, there is neither a common strategy, particularly vis-a-vis the political dealings with China, nor a common identity, but different identities of the Uyghur migration

The esa-sponsored olympus programme provided the first dbs link-ups, soon followed by the extensive use of mixed media communication packages, through computer networking. In cooperation with british colleagues, various distance education programmes have been devised, received and assessed to optimise their impact on students. The introduction of multimedia it equipment, adaptable and efficient, had led to the design and installation of a "virtual classroom", suited for the interactive feedback with british uplinks and on-site tutoring. The specific needs of esp students have also featured the tapping of hyper- and multimedia resources, such as cd-roms, a home-made computerised database, and the assistance and information available on the www. It and international teamwork (through videoconferencing, whiteboard or file sharing and transfer via isdn) make challenging teaching strategies altogether appealing and easy to implement, thus genuinely setting esp learners and trainees on-line with the leading edge

This is done, through an exhaustive presentation of the components of that particular station. The presentation allows us to define how the relationships between public, private and virtual spaces come together and to question the setup of technical and human components around four imperatives: to secure, to inform, to supervise and to punish

Full text10 years after digital socio-collaborative platforms have released, it appears their use is still not generalized, not taken for granted ; the integration in professional environments seems difficult, despite the promise of efficiencies, despite the proximity of tools with traditional local office applications, despite the efforts particularly in consulting services which fail to perpetuate uses. This work demonstrates that a new form of visibility induced by sharing, which is the foundation of digital collaboration, can be a brake or a leverage for adoption, and that it should be taken into account in the change process; It also contributes to the knowledge of the collaborative paradigm by proposing a typology of uses based on their intrinsic and social value, an adoption methodology geared towards the local transformation of daily work practices (Get Collaboration Done!™), And an indicator of the “Value” of the collaborative behavior, which is figurated (and calculated) by an index determined according to algorithmic modalities (Collaboration-Index™)

Full textInformation and communication technologies have revolutionized work of individuals by their capacity for processing information, and bringing together spaces and time dimensions. During the ten last years, e-mail has been quickly developed in the organizations, certainly by it's facility of use and it's utility. In this context, the main problem is no longer how to access information but its quality and the individual capacity to choose among the various channels of communication the “good” way to work “effectively”. The negative impacts are felt by new practices that are often difficult to predict (information overload, conflicts…). In the light of evolution of 16 theories and models, this research identifies three axes -choice, use and appropriation-, and present meta-analysis in the field of the information systems. Using a statistical analysis of textual French research, the approach allow us to get four different classes: “processing in time”, “HMI”, “productivity compared to the choice of the media” and “use/satisfaction”, under consideration like as a new ways of research, opening lines enquiry. A qualitative study of a multinational in the IT sector has been performed in two distinct phases: documents study and participant observation, semi-structured interviews and analysis of messages. The thesis is completed by managerial prescriptions to be aware of human ans social dimension in processing the information

Full textSustainable development has numerous interpretations. It can only be real when it becomes concrete and operational, thus measurable and a source of information. The measure of sustainability depends on the stock of our capital made up of environmental, economic, social, and human dimensions. Knowledge, promoter of all these dimensions sustainability, is a capital to be measured and to be bequeathed to the future generations. In this respect, the notions of «informational sustainability» and «paradigm of informational sustainability» have been proposed, emphasizing the participation of information and information and communication technology in the sustainable development. An «information system on the sustainable development» is based on this paradigm and is defined as a complex system centralized and decentralized at the same time, whose feasibility depends on the conditions of the country, such a developing country like Lebanon

Full textSome theories and practices of knowledge creation in organizations are presented, to show the role of intellectual capital and information technology in a management by knowledge's environment. Governmental organizations that have information sharing as the main objective and that have been growing, supported by new organizational formats oriented to products and services improvement and to the development of a better environment for innovation, are cited. The case of the National Institute of Technology - INT, as an example of technological services provider of the Brazilian public sector, especially to the SME's (Small and medium-sized enterprises) is particularly reported. On account of this client/supplier relationship, some demand studies are commented and the INT's client's portfolio is analyzed, aiming to get better knowledge of the Brazilian SME's information needs and their cultural characteristics and organizational paradigms. In the international panorama, in particular, and in our country, in a smaller scale, we observed a recent tendency of development of the productive sector that is enterprises organization in clusters. In order to consider this configuration, a methodology to gather information about the micro and macro managerial environment, aiming to deliver customized technological information services to the SME'S, and the creation of an interactive model to deliver information to INT's customers through the web are proposed. With the adoption of these tools, an interactive approach between the INT and the productive sector will be obtained

Full textThe aviation industry has encountered numerous socio-technical transformations that have multiplied due to the contemporary climate of globalisation of economies. Pilots' and air-traffic controllers' information production and communication activities, which are essential to the air navigation activity, are particularly affected. In this paper, the theory of activity (Engeström, 1987) will be used to study the technology-organisation-system articulation. This should provide a deeper understanding of the interweaving of technical systems that are continuously more standardized and standardizing, established by international and national authorities, and that have to be implemented locally. Using the architext approach (Jeanneret, 1999), this research questions the communication model as it is registered and prescribed in the technical systems of pilots' and air-traffic controllers' exchanges. Moreover, it identifies, in light of observable practices, some resulting key questions at the level of piloting and air traffic control activities

Full textThe current company realigns its stakes linked to globalization, respecting legal and normative surroundings and the competitiveness of an economical context. New reporting tools are required, in order to produce, share, and exchange data. Indeed, the entities inevitably turn to the use of information and communication technologies, to make the transmission of data easier, and to facilitate the decision-making. However, information and communication technologies are changing the control’s art in organisations. Facing this context, financial auditors cannot ignore the companies’ computerisation phenomenon, which is becoming more and more complex. It is within this context, that I am submitting this thesis, which aims at demonstrating the evolution of the auditors’ profession to adapt itself to the audited entities’ information system, and to the technologies used in the auditing mission. To reach this aim, I will, at first, explain the current auditors’ role, their working environment, and the information systems that goes with them, by introducing the acceptance determinants of this technology. Then, I will show that it requires a model to follow in order to improve the financial auditor’s decisional productivity

Full textSeveral studies have investigated the success factors of IS in the context of SMEs. But managers are struggling to use these results because of the large number of factors and of contradictory results of their impact on the organization. In the framework of resource-based theory and technology acceptance model, and taking into account the specific context of SMEs, we construct a theoretical model of IS success by building on the IT knowledge factor of managers. This model is empirically tested on a sample of 123 SMEs, which are identified by a survey conducted in Hanoi and its surroundings. The result shows that the strategic IT knowledge, access to IT knowledge and management of IT knowledge have a positive impact on IS success of SMEs. More specifically, the strategic IT knowledge has a direct impact on the IS success, while subjective norm and perceived ease of use totally convey the impact of IT knowledge management and access to IT knowledge

Full textThe aim of this dissertation is to outline essential tendencies of transformation in the new media based on the New Information Technologies (namely Internet), and to define their importance for the transfer of knowledge from science to business. In the case of tourism, it is assumed to reveal the possibilities for realization of knowledge-based tourism in Bulgaria. The methodology is oriented towards an application of the systemic approach in the field of Science studies. The main thesis is that the new media (namely Internet) permit a change of the attitudes of communicators and of the position of knowledge in the communication context in connection with their heuristic aspects. This change is affected by the new trends in science and business and it is made possible by NIT and activities of IT sector. It also reveals the perspective for knowledge-based tourism. The empirical studies (observation, deep interview, survey, analysis of web-sites) reveal the absence of preconditions in Bulgaria allowing a more perspective orientation towards tourism. The conclusions are related to the necessity of general measures and initiatives aiming to change the strategies concerning communications and tourism

Full textWritten communication technologies and digital language are the keys that have opened the space for reflection on the impact of such technologies and type of language on the writings of francophone college and high school students. The age of these young people, which corresponds to the period of adolescence and its physiological transformation, as well as the emergence of technological evolution and the invasion of digital media (notably "the smartphone") played a role in the modification, at least partially, of the French language, particularly in the field of school writing. The act of writing is no longer considered as regulated, on the contrary, it has become oral-oriented, without rules, grouping together sound and writing and responding to the editorial desires of adolescents. On the other hand, certain variations in this new act of digital writing are not created from vacuum, they trace back to forms of writing formerly used in traditional writings, which constitutes one of the important points of the subject of our research. The impact of the use of digital tools on the quality of language, especially spelling, is often considered by the general public as harmful. In general, our object is defined through the studies carried out around this subject which did not affirm the absolute negativity of the new numerical language on the productions of writings of the students, which is why certain suggestions are indicated for better learning of language

More precesely it focuses on the relationship between the computer networks and those who use it. In this context, the two following questions must be considered : what futur is therefore an individual's autonomy in this computer age? What are the ideologies behind artificial intelligence system (AI) and particulary by expert system? The author's responds to these questions take the form of two hypotheses : 1. The creator of expert system and more generaly programmers, target and therefore favour the non-autonomus user. 2. The ideologies behind the ntic are the result of mutual determination by emerging techological advances and present day society. In order to prove this hypotheses, he analyses the theory of particulary Simon, Minsky, and Winograd and Flores, all of whom are practicians-thepricians. In short, the author predicts the futur of the expanding and accessible computer area by focusing theoretical and practical. This will enable him to achieve a greater understanding of the underline ideologies of computer development from it's roots up to the present day. This in turn will enable the author to re-evaluate the possibilities of envisaging a more humanist futur for the computer, and to conclude by sketching a computer ethic. This ethic aim to maintain the individual's autonomy by drawning conclusion from expert system and virtual reality technology

Full textThis doctoral thesis aims to assess the consequences of the integration of the new information technology and communication media (NITC) on the workforce in Gabon, concerning both the organisational field and the field of workforce health. More precisely, the objective of the current thesis focuses on three aspects. The first aspect concerns the factors which are bound to facilitate the use of NITC by the employees. The second aspect assesses the changes triggered by the use of NITC in the organisation of the employees’ work. Last but not least, the last aspect assesses the impact of NITC on the physical and psychological health of the employees. A questionnaire was applied on a sample of 136 employees who worked in the banking system in Gabon. The designed tool is structured in four parts: (A) an identification part comprising the socio-demographic variables (age, sex, marital status) and the socio-organisational ones (seniority, daily length of use and frequency of use of the NITC); (B) the Brangier and Hammes scale (2007), which measures the relation man-work-organisation starting from the model of symbiosis; (C) a 30-item questionnaire designed according to the research needs, based on the analysis of the categorial-thematic content of the discourses provided by employees in Gabon while describing their daily work routine. It focuses on the influence of NITC on the organisation of work (efficiency in work, communication practises, autonomy, information overload and professional isolation); (D) a questionnaire built in the same manner as the previous one, exploring the perceived connections between NITC and health at the workplace (physical issues, professional stress and professional well-being at work). Globally, the obtained results show that the connections that the employees in Gabon have with the NITC are strongly correlated with the way in which they use them. However, they do not indicate any connection between the use of NITC inside the organisations in Gabon and the organisation of work. Moreover, these results show that on the one hand the NITC are perceived as the source of physical health issues (particularly musculoskeletal issues) and psychological issues (particularly professional stress), but on the other hand they are also perceived as causing a certain psychological well-being (particularly when it comes to the working environment and the involvement in work/self-accomplishment). Finally, our work highlights two mediations: the sharing technologies (vs. assistive technologies) constitute a total mediator of the relation between the perception of the symbiosis between man-work-organisation and the perceived occurrence of the TMS (vs. depression). Our research also has an applicative dimension on short-term, but it opens the gate towards future research patterns aiming to improve the integration and development of NITC in Gabon on mid-term
