AbstractCollecting ideas through crowdsourcing has become a common practice for companies to benefit from external ideas and innovate. It is desirable that crowd members build on each other's ideas to achieve synergy. This study proposes and verifies a new method for idea combination which can result in combined ideas that are both novel and useful. The domain-specific knowledge of crowd members does not influence the effectiveness of such idea combination. The new method can be used for collecting highly creative ideas from the crowd. The implications for future research are discussed.

This research aims to analyze the translation of cultural elements in the novel "Pachinko" by Min Jin Lee through a qualitative approach. The main source of data is the novel "Pachinko" itself, which contains representations of complex cultural elements. The data analysis technique used is Word Analysis, that is, Semantic Analysis can find words and phrases related to character changes, such as "identity,

The Cuban literary tradition is closely linked to the idea of a “national literature,” reducing narrative to a specific axis of space and time. The authors of the so-called Generación Zero (Generation Zero) experiment with the elements of this “national literature,” or, Literature-Nation (Aguilera 2002), and de-territorialize narrative while working with its tropes. Departing from the idea of ‘transfiction’ (Aguilera 2015) and the idea that utopia is not only referring to a time and space, but also to a genre, I will analyse the novel La autopista: the movie (2015), by Jorge Enrique Lage from

Marine aquaculture has been expanded into more remote areas due to the increasing demand for high value-added fish products, bringing more challenges in fuel supply and mooring safety to open ocean aquaculture farms. Therefore, the idea of integrating aquaculture farms with offshore renewable energy has attracted tremendous interest. This study proposes a novel open ocean aquaculture ship integrated with a NREL 5 MW wind turbine. In addition, an internal turret mooring system is installed at the bow of the aquaculture ship, making the wind turbine always face the wind blowing direction due to

This paper proposes application of enhanced colliding bodies optimization algorithm (ECBO) for solving the economic load dispatch problem, which aims to get minimum generation cost through economic scheduling of generating unit. The algorithm is a novel efficient optimization algorithm, and its idea is attained from collisions, which are one-dimensional between two or more bodies. Each agent involved in this collision is shaped as a body having defined mass and defined velocity. To analyze the performance of the proposed method, it is tested on four different test systems consisting of 3, 5, 1

There exists three driven approaches to combinational creativity: problem-, similarity- and inspiration-driven. This study provides further insights into the three combinational creativity driven approaches, exploring which approach could lead to ideas that are more creative in the context of practical product design. The results from a case study reveal that the problem- driven approach could lead to more creative and novel ideas or products
