Let C be a bounded cochain complex of finitely generated free modules over the Laurent polynomial ring L = R[x, x-1, y, y-1]. The complex C is called R-finitely dominated if it is homotopy equivalent over R to a bounded complex of finitely generated projective R-modules. Our main result characterizes R-finitely dominated complexes in terms of Novikov cohomology: C is R-finitely dominated if and only if eight complexes derived from C are acyclic; these complexes are C ⊗L R〚x, y〛[(xy)-1] and C ⊗L R[x, x-1]〚y〛[y-1], and their variants obtained by swapping x and y, and replacing either indetermina

The aim of this article is to classify pairs of the first-order Hamiltonian operators of Dubrovin–Novikov type such that one of them has a non-local part defined by an isometry of its leading coefficient. An example of such a bi-Hamiltonian pair was recently found for the constant astigmatism equation. We obtain a classification in the case of two dependent variables, and a significant new example with three dependent variables that is an extension of a hydrodynamic-type system obtained from a particular solution of the Witten–Dijkgraaf–Verlinde–Verlinde equations.

Moreover, with analytic initial data, we show that its solutions are analytic in both variables, globally in space and locally in time, which extend some results of Himonas (2003) to more general equations.

The temporal component is the adjoint of the linearized equation and the spatial component is a partial differential equation with respect to the spatial variables. Although this idea has been known for the one-spatial dimension for some time, it is the first time that this method is presented for the case of the higher-spatial dimension.

Abstract Background: As the development and use of oral anticancer agents increases, it is critical to understand patient adherence to both standard and investigational agents. The open label, phase 3 multicenter PALLAS trial investigates whether adding 2 years of the CDK4/6 inhibitor palbociclib (P) to adjuvant endocrine therapy (ET) improves invasive disease-free survival (iDFS) over adjuvant ET alone in patients (pts) with HR- positive, HR2-negative, stage II-III breast cancer. Pts were randomly assigned to either Palbociclib (125 mg/day, 3 weeks on, 1 week off, in a 28-day cycle) plus ongo

AbstractWe study symmetries, invariant solutions, and conservation laws for the dispersionless Veselov–Novikov equation. The emphasis is placed on cases when the odes involved in description of the invariant solutions are integrable by quadratures. Then we find some non-invariant solutions, in particular, solutions that are polynomials of an arbitrary degree $$N \ge 3$$ N ≥ 3 with respect to the spatial variables. Finally we compute all conservation laws that are associated to cosymmetries of second order.

Abstract We show that the product in the quantum K-ring of a generalized flag manifold $G/P$ involves only finitely many powers of the Novikov variables. In contrast to previous approaches to this finiteness question, we exploit the finite difference module structure of quantum K-theory. At the core of the proof is a bound on the asymptotic growth of the $J$-function, which in turn comes from an analysis of the singularities of the zastava spaces studied in geometric representation theory. An appendix by H. Iritani establishes the equivalence between finiteness and a quadratic growth condition

Abstract A full variable separation approach is firstly proposed for (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear systems by extending the well-established multilinear variable separation approach through the assumption that the expansion function is composed of full variable separated functions, namely, functions with respect to only one spacial or temporal argument. Taking the (2+1)-dimensional Boiti-Leon-Manna-Pempinelli equation, the Nizhnik-Novikov-Veselov equation and the dispersive long wave equation as examples, new full variable separation solutions are obtained with several arbitrary one dimensional

By using the discrete Lax matrices corresponding to and in the Adler–Bobenko–Suris list of quadrilateral lattice equations, we establish solutions of the (2+1)‐dimensional Schwarzian Korteweg–de Vries (SKdV) equation and its generalizations. According to the structure of integrable Hamiltonian systems provided by one discrete Lax matrix for the lattice, we construct a novel Lax representation for the (2+1)‐dimensional SKdV equation. On the basis of the Riemann surface and elliptic variables, the Hamiltonian phase flows related to the equation are linearized by the Abel–Jacobi coordinates. Cons

AbstractUpon having presented a bird’s eye view of history of integrable systems, we give a brief review of certain recent advances in the longstanding problem of search for partial differential systems in four independent variables, often referred to as (3+1)-dimensional or 4D systems, that are integrable in the sense of soliton theory. Namely, we review a recent construction for a large new class of (3+1)-dimensional integrable systems with Lax pairs involving contact vector fields. This class contains inter alia two infinite families of such systems, thus establishing that there is signific
