Non-photochemical laser-induced nucleation (NPLIN) has been a growing field of study since 1996, and more than 40 compounds including organics, inorganics and proteins have now been probed under various conditions (solvents, laser types, laser beamsetc.). The potential advantages of using this technique are significant, in particular polymorphic control. To realize these benefits, the objective is a carefully designed experimental setup and highly controlled parameters, for example temperature and energy density, in order to reduce the uncertainty regarding the origin of nucleation. Crystal growth speeds, crystal sizes and the morphology of sodium acetate (CH3COONa) crystals in the presence of polymaleic acid and polyacrylic acid with different concentrations were investigated in supersaturated solutions of sodium acetate. The technique of non-photochemical laser-induced nucleation (NPLIN) was used to produce initial crystallites of anhydrous CH3COONa. The anhydrous CH3COONa crystal growth in solution after laser irradiation resembled the formation of dandelion seed heads. It is well established that the estimation of measurement uncertainty is vital for the validation of any measurement and is an essential parameter of quality assurance. Apart from the conventional technique of law of propagation of uncertainty (LPU), which has many limitations, Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) technique has become an essential tool for the estimation of measurement uncertainty in various fields of metrology. The most critical factor in MCS is the generation of random numbers of the input quantities according to their probability distributions. The number of Monte Carlo trials to g

Objective: To compare the prognostic predictive performance of six lymph node (LN) staging schemes: American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) N stage, number of retrieved lymph nodes (NRLN), number of positive lymph nodes (NPLN), number of negative lymph nodes (NNLN), lymph node ratio (LNR), and log odds of positive lymph nodes (LODDS) among node-positive endometrioid endometrial cancer (EEC) patients. Methods: A total of 3,533 patients diagnosed with node-positive EEC between 2010 and 2016 from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were retrospectively analyzed. Abstract:
ABSTRACTInfluenza A virus (IAV) is a highly transmissible respiratory pathogen and a major cause of morbidity and mortality around the world. Nucleoprotein (NP) is an abundant IAV protein essential for multiple steps of the viral life cycle. Our recent proteomic study of the IAV-host interaction network found that TRIM41 (tripartite motif-containing 41), a ubiquitin E3 ligase, interacted with NP. However, the role of TRIM41 in IAV infection is unknown. Here, we report that TRIM41 interacts with NP through its SPRY domain. Furthermore, TRIM41 is constitutively expressed in lung epithelial cells
