The exact origin of the peculiar naked barley is somewhat illusive. There is a debate whether it has a single, monophyletic origin or a multiple, paraphyletic origin. It is from previous Asian studies on naked barley known that a mutation or a deletion of the nud gene expresses the naked seed phenotype. Not much investigation has been done outside of Asia, least of all in the Nordic countries, on what gives naked barley its character. Therefore this study was set up to examine if the Nordic variant of naked barley shares the same nud allele as the Asian and thus has a close connection with it, or if they have independent mutations. I could confirm that the known alleles of the nud gene do determine the seed character of barley. Most of the results of the PCR genotyping confirmed the phenotype of the tested accessions, both naked and hulled barleys. However, one visually phenotyped naked barley cultivar (NGB4580) still amplified with the known primers that would match the Asian hulled allele, meaning that the Nordic accession NGB4580 of naked barley did not carry the known nud deletion. This suggests that naked barley has arisen independently in Asia and in the Nordic countries.

In today's, collaborative, customer-driven, networked economy, forming and sustaining strategic business relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners has become a mission-critical imperative for most businesses. This is the also case for the paper machine clothing industry. The organisations search and utilise for the key resources that can guarantee their success in the market place. The search for key success factors contributing to Albany International's leadership position in the paper machine clothing industry has been the dominant theme in this study. The literature review is predominantly focused on various types of business relationships, with particular interest toward cases of mergers, acquisitions, takeovers and joint ventures so identifying the key resources contributing to the development and delivery of sustained competitive advantage in the paper machine clothing industry. The study incorporates a critique of literature from technology strategy, cross cultural management, and strategic management fields. The research questions, set by the author, are designed to explore the technological, managerial and cultural factors contributing to the success of the organisation and its further growth in the market. Primary data has been collected through quantitative survey questionnaires, the results of which contribute to the development of the author's proposed model which is designed to predict the success of business relationships in the paper machine clothing industry. The results have been analyzed with Stata which revealed issues for further investigation. The most appropriate follow up research methodology for these latter issues was semi-structured interviews with managers of Albany International from the key branches. The analysis of the transcribed interviews has been undertaken with the use of QSR N6 (NUD*IST) qualitative software. The theoretical framework for business relationships success in the paper machine clothing industry is formed on the grounds derived from content analysis of the interviews. The new model, proposed by the author demonstrated that to build a successful business relationship Albany International had to approach this process from the four directions: due-diligence in terms of technological level, cultural fit, management styles, identification of the key people behind the business success. This process has to be clearly communicated to the employees, other people involved within the organisations in question, and to the external environment.

L'entre-nud apical des mais: co125 et w401, de digestibilite et de composition differentes a ete utilise pour etudier l'effet de la lignification sur la degradation des parois dans le rumen et sur l'organisation et la repartition des constituants parietaux. Un gradient de maturation croissant se developpe de la base vers le sommet de cet entre-nud. La vitesse de degradation de la base est plus elevee que celle du sommet de l'entre-nud, et est superieure pour le mais co125. Les tissus lignifies: sclerenchyme, fibres et xyleme sont colonises par les champignons alors que le parenchyme (non lignifie) est tapisse de bacteries. Les parois lignifiees resistent a la degradation microbienne, exceptee la paroi secondaire des fibres et du sclerenchyme. La seule presence de lignines dans les parois ne peut pas expliquer les resultats de digestibilite. Ainsi, les glucuronoxylanes (gx), les arabinoxylanes (ax), l'acide p-coumarique (pca) et le feruloyl-arabinose (fa) ont ete localises par immunocytochimie, essentiellement dans les parois secondaires des tissus etudies. Le marquage augmente avec la teneur et le stade de maturation pour les gx, ax et fa alors que c'est l'inverse pour le pca. Nous avons observe d'avantage d'ax que de gx. Parmi les composes phenoliques, le pca donne un marquage superieur a celui de fa. Plus les tissus sont ages moins le pca est accessible, car probablement masque par les lignines. Apres degradation dans le rumen, le marquage des constituants evolue selon leur accessibilite aux anticorps et leur environnement moleculaire. Les xylanes montrent le plus de fluctuations, ceci des les premieres heures d'incubation. Dans le sommet des deux lignees, le marquage du pca montre dans tous les tissus lignifies qu'il y a demasquage des sites recherches par elimination de composes plus digestibles. Au contraire dans les bases, il y a elimination du pca des les premieres heures d'incubation

La theorie de l'apprentissage statistique est a la base des reseaux de neurones artificiels. On montre que les approches connexionnistes de la caracterisation du trafic et du controle d'admission des connexions (cac) utilisant des mesures temps reel apportent de nombreux avantages par rapport aux methodes parametriques classiques. Elles s'adaptent facilement aux changements du trafic sur lesquelles aucune hypothese prealable n'est necessaire. Elles possedent un haut niveau de performances et permettent de generaliser a des donnees inconnues les resultats appris. On presente une nouvelle methode destinee a ameliorer les performances en generalisation des perceptrons multi-couches utilises en tant que reseaux discriminants et approximateurs de fonctions. On montre comment modifier le critere d'apprentissage afin de controler la distribution des erreurs au cours de l'apprentissage. Ce controle permet d'obtenir une meilleure marge dans les problemes de classification. Des resultats ameliorant notablement l'etat de l'art sur trois differents problemes sont presentes et valident la methode. Une application de cette methode a l'estimation des periodes de congestion dans un lien atm est presentee afin de realiser une procedure de controle d'admission des connexions pour le service de type abt-dt. On montre que les reseaux de neurones artificiels entraines sur des trafic qualifies de pire cas peuvent correctement generaliser sur d'autres types de trafics, en realisant une estimation conservative et precise des periodes de congestion. Cette methode non parametrique dynamique permet de decider l'acceptation d'une nouvelle connexion au regard de ses parametres de trafic.

Ce travail etait d'etudier l'expression des recepteurs b-adrenergiques (b-ar) et muscariniques (m2-r) dans le myocarde de rat senescent, et de definir la composition moleculaire en b-ar et m2-r dans la region du nud sinusal de cur de rat adulte et au cours du vieillissement. La densite ventriculaire en b-ar est reduite mais la concentration en m2-r dans le ventricule est inchangee avec l'age. Le niveau d'accumulation en arnm b-ar diminue et celui des m2-r augmente dans les memes tissus, suggerant une regulation en partie pre-traductionnelle de ces recepteurs avec l'age. Chez le rat age les concentrations en arnm b1-ar et b2-ar varient de maniere opposee quelle que soit la chambre myocardique consideree. Ces donnees suggerent une regulation antithetique hormonale des b1 et b2-ar. Les concentrations en arnm m2-r, au contraire, ne changent pas de facon homogene sur l'ensemble du myocarde avec l'age, suggerant une regulation chambre-specifique de l'expression de cette sequence. La distribution du niveau d'expression en arnm m2-r suit un axe atrioventriculaire, celle des arnm b-ar est relativement homogene sur l'ensemble du myocarde. Ces donnees sont superposables au diagramme de repartition en proteines recepteurs et en terminaisons nerveuses du systeme nerveux autonome chez le rat adulte. Chez l'animal de 3 mois, la concentration en arnm m2-r et les rapports des concentrations en arnm b1-ar/b2-ar ou m2-r/b-ar sont plus eleves dans la region du nud sinusal que dans le reste de l'oreillette droite. Avec l'age, une reduction de la concentration en arnm m2-r et du rapport (m2-r/b-ar) survient, specifiquement dans la region du nud sinusal. Des donnees preliminaires montrent, chez le rat senescent, une tendance a la baisse de la variabilite du rythme sinusal. La reduction du rapport en arnm m2-r/b-ar revele une alteration moleculaire qui pourrait etre un determinant de la baisse de la variabilite de la frequence cardiaque observee au cours du vieillissement

The aim of this project is a reconstruction of a former kindergarten building in Žďár nad Sázavou to a community center with several functional units. The existing building was bulit in 1960s. The site is located on the border of the old and new buildings – on one side, there is a Stalingrad housing estate from the 1950s built from brick houses in the socialist realism style. On the other side of the site are built new family houses, which are quickly expanding. The smaller part of the object is still used, the rest is abandoned. The house is surrounded by a large garden. The garden is defined by a fence and trees in a way, which creates a barrier, so the building does not communicate with surroundings in any way. The aim of the project is to create a centre of Stalingrad connected with surroundings and creating a meeting place for communities living in the area by using building interventions.

The subject of the diploma thesis is based on the specific intention of the town Žďár nad Sázavou for the reconstruction of an original kindergarten building into a multifunctional building of a community center. The construction program counts on five different programs: the Community Center, the Day Center for Children and Youth (low-threshold facility working especially with children from socially disadvantaged families), the Club V 9 (Mental Health Support Center), the Social Services Directorate, and finally, a nursery (child group, up to 3 years of age). The proposed operational solution of the project perceives the continuity of development while respecting not only the relations of the different types of functions but also the situation on the land, respectively in the surrounding area. The addition of new volumes strengthens the position of the central superimposed mass, from which individual cells containing individual functions are exerted into the adjacent garden. The relationship between the horizontal pavilions in the garden and the elevated central mass is emphasized by its further elevation and the placement of the most specific part of the social hall into this "crown" of the object. An integral part of the reconstruction is the involvement of the community center, as a public building, into the public space. The land is thus partially accessible to several public areas, but with respect to the specifics of the different groups of users, the essential part of the land is left as closed gardens of individual services.

The subject of the diploma thesis is based on the specific intention of the town of Žďár nad Sázavou for the reconstruction of the original nursery school at Okružní street to the community center. The diploma thesis follows the analytical part of the previous semester, which examined the possibilities, risks and potential of the city. The main starting point is the work with the existing building - reconstruction and extension of the original kindergarten building. Compared to the conventional new "green meadow" construction, this assignment emphasizes the use of existing values, the concentration and strengthening of the existing city as opposed to the contemporary colonization of the free landscape. The design of a building modification of an existing building must also be based on the perception of the continuity of the development, in particular the constructional nature of the building, so that the newly designed "layer" of development does not become a denial of the previous layers.

The topic of this diploma thesis is in accordance with the intent of the city of Žďár nad Sázavou to renovate an existing building of a kindergarten on Okružní street, and turn it into a community center. The focus of this thesis follows up the preceding term, the analytical part of which delved into possibilities, risks and the capacity of the city. In addition, the aim of this thesis conforms to the specialization of Res Publica module in social buildings of the city. The key prerequisite of the assignment is to work with the existing building, namely the kindergarten, hence the renovation and the extention. Unlike conventional and new development on a greenfield site, this project makes a point of utilizing existing values, making the city denser along with strengthening it, thus resulting in bringing about the difference compared to contemporary colonization of an open countryside. The design of the construction changes of the existing building must take development continuity perception into consideration, first and foremost the load-bearing system of the building, lest the newly-designed development layer belie the previous ones.

The aim of this project is a reconstruction of a former kindergarten building in Žďár nad Sázavou to a community center with several functional units. The existing building was bulit in 1960s. The site is located on the border of the old and new buildings – on one side, there is a Stalingrad housing estate from the 1950s built from brick houses in the socialist realism style. On the other side of the site are built new family houses, which are quickly expanding. The smaller part of the object is still used, the rest is abandoned. The house is surrounded by a large garden. The garden is defined by a fence and trees in a way, which creates a barrier, so the building does not communicate with surroundings in any way. The aim of the project is to create a centre of Stalingrad connected with surroundings and creating a meeting place for communities living in the area by using building interventions.

The diploma thesis follows the analytical part of the previous semester, which examined the possibilities, risks and potential of the city. The main starting point is the work with the existing building - reconstruction and extension of the original kindergarten building. Compared to the conventional new "green meadow" construction, this assignment emphasizes the use of existing values, the concentration and strengthening of the existing city as opposed to the contemporary colonization of the free landscape. The design of a building modification of an existing building must also be based on the perception of the continuity of the development, in particular the constructional nature of the building, so that the newly designed "layer" of development does not become a denial of the previous layers.

The work deals with the reconstruction and outbuilding of the community center in Zdar nad Sazavou. The existing house was built in the 70s last century. The building served as a day nursery in the past and then as a branch office of primary school. In this time is a part of the building used by the Club in 9 and Day of center for children and youth, part of the building is unused. The building is located in the centre of inaccessible and unkempt gardens and do not communicate with the surrounding. The aim of the diploma work is to change this situation. Using the construction impacts to create from the building a home and garden, which will be open to the surrounding and will be to interact with it. It using the reconstructions and outbuildings, which will respect the original DNA of the house.

The design of the building modification of the existing building is based on the perception of the continuity of the development, especially of the building structure. The aim of the project is to create a multifunctional community center with operational and administrative facilities. With regard to the capacity of the current building, it was necessary to extend the extension to meet the spatial requirements of each site. The construction program was specified by the developer and extended by two new facilities - the community center and the headquarters. It also includes the solution of outdoor areas, sufficient parking capacity and, in particular, the creation of a clear identity of the community site.

educacional, con un análisis desde los mismos programas que se han desarrollado en las
escuelas, junto con determinar las causas político, sociales y educacionales de la inminente
perdida del manejo y uso del idioma rapa nui en la comunidad escolar y en general. Este
trabajo se centra en justificar la educación de medio rapa nui y los cursos de inmersión, como
pilar fundamental para avanzar en un sistema educacional propio, que se haga cargo de
revitalizar el idioma rapa nui y su cultura. El análisis utiliza como ejemplo a seguir, dos
experiencias internacionales exitosas en revitalización de idioma y cultura, el maorí y el
hawaiano. El estudio termina con una discusión en materia de educación indígena, aterrizados
a la realidad Rapa-Nui y la relación con las políticas educacionales del Estado de Chile,
describiendo como debería ser el sistema educacional rapa nui, que hay que hacer para

La régulation et le contrôle-qualité de l'expression génique permettent respectivement de maintenir un équilibre entre synthèse et dégradation des ARNm répondant aux besoins cellulaires et d'empêcher l'expression d'ARNm ou protéines aberrants potentiellement toxiques. Pour mieux comprendre ces processus cytoplasmiques, je me suis intéressée à Jlp2, Tac4 et Ska1, trois protéines ayant des liens physiques ou fonctionnels avec des acteurs du contrôle-qualité des ARNm et peptides appartenant aux complexes RQC et SKI. Jlp2 montre des liens de létalité synthétique avec les complexes RQC et SKI mais son absence n'altère pas le " NonStop mRNA Decay ". Elle pourrait donc être impliquée dans une autre voie de contrôle dépendante des complexes RQC et SKI. Tac4 est une ARN hélicase putative associée aux ribosomes, au niveau de l'hélice H16 de l'ARNr 18S comme son homologue putatif mammifère DHX29. Elle interagit également au niveau de régions 3'UTR d'ARNm. Ces observations suggèrent que Tac4 pourrait être impliquée dans la réinitiation de la traduction et le sauvetage de ribosomes non-dissociés récemment identifiés dans la région 3'UTR d'ARNm. Enfin, nous avons identifié Ska1, une protéine appartenant à une nouvelle sous-population de complexes SKI. Nos données suggèrent que ce complexe SKI-Ska1 est impliqué dans la dégradation de transcrits dépourvus de ribosome. Nous proposons un modèle selon lequel ce complexe SKI-Ska1 agirait durant la dégradation de 3'UTR avec l'exosome, puis en arrivant dans la région codante et en rencontrant un ribosome, Ska1 se dissocierait du complexe pour lui permettre d'interagir directement avec le ribosome et poursuivre la dégradation 3'-5' de l'ARN<br>Mechanisms responsible for the regulation of gene expression and its quality-control are required, respectively for maintaining an equilibrium between mRNA synthesis and degradation and to prevent synthesis of aberrant mRNAs and proteins potentially toxic for the cells. To better understand these quality-control processes, I studied three factors, Jlp2, Tac4 and Ska1, with physical or functional links described with factors involved in mRNA and protein quality-control, the RQC and SKI complexes. Jlp2 shows synthetic lethality with the RQC and SKI complexes but its deletion has no effect on the NonStop mRNA Decay, suggesting that Jlp2 could be implicated in another control pathway linked to the RQC and SKI complexes. Tac4 is a putative RNA helicase bound to ribosomes, on the 18S rRNA H16 helix, as its mammalian putative homolog DHX29. DHX29 plays a role in translation initiation but surprisingly, Tac4 interacts, in addition to ribosomes, with mRNA 3’UTRs. These observations suggest that Tac4 could be implicated in translation reinitiation and rescue of non-dissociated-ribosomes, recently described within mRNA 3’UTRs. Finally, we identified Ska1, a new factor associated to a SKI complex subpopulation. Our observations suggest that the SKI-Ska1 complex is implicated in the degradation of transcripts devoid of ribosomes. It suggests a model by which the SKI complex would proceed in two steps. First, the SKI-Ska1 complex could assist the exosome to degrade 3’UTR regions of RNAs and then, when its reaches the coding region and encounter a ribosome, Ska1 would leave the complex and allow it to interact directly with ribosomes to proceed further in the 3’-5’ RNA degradation

Intracellular levels of NAD are of renewed interest in clinical and basic science research due to the new discovery of enzymes which utilize NAD as a substrate. Microtiter assays for the determination of NAD, NADP and protein were developed as modifications of previously published methods. The resulting assays are simple, cost effective and sensitive. An improved method of isolating lymphocytes was also developed. The resultant procedure requires one hour and removes greater than 99.9% of the platelets. Lymphocyte pools were stabilized with the addition of ADP-ribosyltransferase inhibitors and a modified extraction procedure. These studies have led to the development of a method for evaluation of NAD in human lymphocytes that is sensitive, selective and suitable for automation.

Imunitetai nuo baudžiamosios atsakomybės šio darbo prasme apima imunitetus nuo baudžiamosios jurisdikcijos, imunitetus nuo patraukimo baudžiamojon atsakomybėn, atskirų asmenų neliečiamybės teisę ir kai kurias veiklos garantijas, įtvirtintas įvairiuose teisės aktuose. Šio darbo objektu yra imuniteto, taikomo atskiroms asmenų kategorijoms, ypatumai ir jų teisinis reglamentavimas. Darbe nagrinėjamos Lietuvos Respublikos Konstitucijos, Baudžiamojo ir Baudžiamojo proceso kodeksų, Lietuvos Respublikos įstatymų bei tarptautinių teisės aktų normos, reglamentuojančios tam tikrų asmenų kategorijų imunitetus, šių normų taikymo praktiką bei mokslinę literatūrą. Šio darbo tikslai yra apibrėžti imunitetų baudžiamajame procese ir patraukimo baudžiamojon atsakomybėn sampratas; nustatyti imuniteto reikšmę, jo pobūdį, užtikrinimo mechanizmą; išanalizuoti atskiroms asmenų kategorijoms taikomo imuniteto apimtis bei ypatumus; išnagrinėti asmeninės baudžiamosios atsakomybės principo ir imunitetų santykį. [toliau žr. visą tekstą]<br>The immunities from criminal responsibility in this research work involve immunities from criminal jurisdiction, immunities from criminal persecution, inviolability of the great officers of state, some guarantees of their activities which are regulated in different acts. The subject of this research work is the immunity peculiarities guaranteed by respective laws for above mentioned groups of people. The investigation of this work deals not only with rules of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, Criminal and Criminal process codes, national and international laws, which regulate immunities of some groups of people, but also with the practice of these rules and nonfiction literature. The purpose of this research work is to determine the definitions of the immunities in the criminal process and criminal persecution, to estimate the meaning of the immunities, their character and implementation, to analyse the ambit and peculiarities of the immunities which are given to certain people, to explore the relation between the principle of individual criminal jurisdiction and international immunities. <p>A live nude female performer can occupy a powerful identity equal to a man because she willingly places herself in front of an audience. She commits to this state of profound vulnerability as a means of gaining ownership of her body that men by virtue of their power in society take for granted. The female body occupies physical space, unlike how a body image seen on a television or in a magazine does. The actuality of the live female nude creates a transformation from the purely sexualized body to an authentic female nude body. This authentic female nude body, via her control of her physicality, is a “loud” and often rejected body. The acknowledgement of her authenticity is an acknowledgement of her power and this is common ground on which the female audience member and performer can relate intersubjectively. On the surface, it seems the most effective solution to eliminating objectification and this obstruction of the female body would be to take focus away from her body. Yet paradoxically, female subjects have altered these culturally shaped identity norms of objectification through nude performance, liberating the hyper-sexualized projections attached to the female body and replacing them with symbols of innocence, creativity and power. </p>

Previous issue date: 1996<br>Resumo: Fruto de uma intensa preocupação com a linguagem e com o processo de criação literária, a obra de Clarice Lispector ocupa um lugar privilegiado na literatura brasileira contemporânea. Clarice encaminha as reflexões estéticas ao longo de sua obra para a exposição dos paradoxos inerentes ao ato de escrever. Esta é a problemática central para entender Água Viva, A Hora da Estrela e Um Sopro de vida, onde a impossibilidade de resolução desses paradoxos são metaforizados pelo silêncio, pela página em branco, pelo vazio, pela ruína do próprio texto. O que encontraremos nesses livros é a diluição do tempo, da trama literária, o esfacelamento da obra literária. Em última instância, a exposição dos bastidores da criação literária ao leitor. O movimento que penso existir ao longo dessa fase da obra romanesca da escritora (1969-1977) é o caminho para um profundo entendimento da literatura como um fracasso que adquire um valor significativo, pois é fruto de uma busca. Daí advém o centramento das narrativas em questão na figura de um narrador, revelado máscara do próprio escritor. Este trabalho descreve os processos de composição das peças: Seis Movimentos para Quinteto de Metais; As Canções do Livro do Tempo, para voz e Violão, com poemas de Carlos Nejar; Cavalo Ferido, em cinco movimentos para órgão solo; e Maja Nua, para orquestra. A estética de cada peça é oriunda de atitudes composicionais especulativas e distintas. No decorrer do texto estabelece-se uma distinção entre procedimentos técnicos que geram resultantes estéticas e a projeção estética que impulsiona as tomadas de decisões composicionais. Os processos de composição enfocados são particulares de cada peça, envolvendo rigidez estrutural e composição intuitiva. A estruturação do ritmo e outros parâmetros utilizando matrizes numéricas foram os fundamentos técnicos que orientaram a composição dos Seis Movimentos para Quinteto de Metais; As Canções do Livro do Tempo e Cavalo Ferido foram compostas por processos mais intuitivos; e, Maja Nua, que considero a composição mais importante deste portfólio, já no planejamento inicial busquei, a justaposição de momentos rigidamente estruturados a momentos compostos intuitivamente.
