CONSELHO NACIONAL DE DESENVOLVIMENTO CIENTÍFICO E TECNOLÓGICOLe relazioni tra nichilismo, nulla, negazione. L´infermità (infirmitas) che sembra attraversare la Civiltà Occidentale e i (vani) tentativi di cura attraverso un movimento ancipite e incessante di (in)posizione/sostituzione. Il timore originario di fronte al nulla; i tentativi di annullarlo, de neutralizzare la sua potenza; le irruzioni del nihil nella storia del pensiero occidentale; il riscatto del suo senso in alcuni, significativi momenti della filosofia contemporanea. Il nichilismo considerato non appena un fenomeno storico, legato alla Modernità e alla sua crisi. La negazione - e un suo nuovo senso - che non si riduca, appena, ancora una volta, a una mera indicazione di un´altra positività. L´aporia della nonaffermazione non escludente; alcuni tratti estetici. É questa la mappa, imprecisa e inquietante, che orienta la nostra tesi; che si delinea e si sviluppa in un orizzonte contemporaneo (opere, autori, interlocutori, questioni...) nel quale siamo inseriti e dal quale siamo sempre provocati, e mediante un decisivo, inevitabile, confronto con alcuni dei grandi topoi del pensiero occidentale.
As relações entre niilismo, nada, negação. A enfermidade (infirmitas), que parece atravessar a Civilização Ocidental, e as (vãs) tentativas de cura mediante um movimento ancípite e incessante de (im)posição/substituição. O tremor originário diante do nada; as tentativas de anulá-lo, de neutralizar a sua potência; as irrupções do nihil na história do pensamento, o resgate da seu sentido em alguns, significativos, momentos da filosofia contemporânea. O niilismo considerado não apenas como fenômeno histórico, ligado à Modernidade e à sua crise. A negação - e um seu novo sentido seu - que não se reduza, apenas, sempre já, à indicação de uma outra positividade. A aporia da não-afirmação não excludente; alguns traços estéticos. Esse é o mapa, impreciso e inquietante, que orienta a nossa tese; que se delineia e se desenvolve a partir de um horizonte contemporâneo (obras, autores, interlocutores, questões...), no qual estamos inseridos e pelo qual somos de contínuo provocados, e em um decisivo, inevitável, confronto com alguns dos grandes topoi do pensamento ocidental.

O neopentecostalismo é o movimento religioso brasileiro de maior expressão na alta modernidade. As análises sociológicas realizadas sobre ele a partir da segunda metade da década de 1990 se pautam, via de regra, muito mais pelo julgamento a partir de princípios teológicos, que por uma sincera tentativa de compreender essa manifestação religiosa como uma genuína expressão da modernidade. Compreendemos o neopentecostalismo como um movimento religioso que, paralelamente, afirma a modernidade e se afirma na modernidade. Nos valendo do conceito de secularização como operador de passagem de forças transcendentes para o plano imanente, concebemos a modernidade como um período histórico que sacraliza a imanência. Nesse contexto, identificamos a política, a economia e biomedicina como terrenos privilegiados em que esse processo se materializa. A modernidade é, assim entendemos, um período em que o religioso permanece presente na esfera pública sob outras roupagens, e que se orienta por um telos de cura imanente do ser humano e do mundo. A partir desses pressupostos, sustentamos a hipótese de que o neopentecostalismo re-institucionaliza na esfera religiosa os registros da economia e da cura dos indivíduos, e localiza a salvação na tensão entre a imanência e a transcendência, dando primazia à imanência. As idéias que fundamentam esse processo se encontram nos dois principais registros teológicos neopentecostais: a teologia da guerra espiritual e a teologia da prosperidade. O corpo é o espaço atravessado pelos diferentes vetores teológicos do neopentecostalismo, e nele se realiza a salvação imanente. Dessa maneira situamos nosso objeto de estudo: a multivocalidade do corpo no registro da cura como salvação imanente no neopentecostalismo brasileiro, com o qual nos confrontamos em perspectiva interdisciplinar. Como fontes empíricas para a nossa pesquisa nos valemos tanto de procedimentos etnográficos realizados na Catedral da Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus (IURD) da cidade de Florianópolis - SC, quanto da produção bibliográfica do líder da IURD, Edir Macedo, e da auto-biografia de um ex-pastor da IURD. A partir da nossa relação com o objeto, identificamos no projeto Homo Sacer do filósofo italiano Giorgio Agamben um instigante e original horizonte interpretativo para as diversas expressões do corpo no neopentecostalismo brasileiro. Constatamos que a entrada do fiel na igreja pressupõe a entrega (e a captura) da sua vida ao poder absoluto do Soberano que ali reina, e às mãos dos especialistas religiosos que governam esse espaço. O templo neopentecostal é um campo, no qual toda e qualquer intervenção sobre o corpo torna-se possível. A identificação do fiel com o corpo doutrinário neopentecostal também leva o indivíduo a sacralizar o agir com vistas à produção, a operosidade, por objetivar a glorificação de Deus. O dinheiro, enquanto potência divina imanentizada e fruto do agir produtivo, é o mais importante sacrifício que deve ser feito, mediando as relações entre o humano e o divino. Nos perguntamos, se a relação com o corpo a partir da devoção à produção e da entrega da vida a um poder absoluto de vida e morte, não podem sinalizar, no limite da subjetivação absoluta brechas para a expressão da subjetividade. Neopentecostalism is the most important brazilian religious movement of the late modernity. Sociological analysis on that religious expression produced from the second half of the 1990 decade are more frequently judgments based on theological conceptions, than attempts to comprehend it as an genuine expression of modernity. We conceive neopentecostalism as an religious movement, which reinforce modernity, as much as reinforce itself in the modernity. Using secularization concept as an operator which enable transferring forces from transcendence to immanence, we conceive modernity as a historical period that sacralize immanence. On that context, we identify politics, economics and biomedicine as most proper fields in which that process became real. Modernity is, so our understanding, as a historical period in which the religious assumed different faces and is oriented by a telos of immanent cure of the human being and the world. Based on those presupposes, we defend the hypothesis that neopentecostalism reintroduce the vectors of economics and healing of individuals in religious field, as well as localize salvation in the tension between immanence and transcendence, focusing, nevertheless, on immanence. The ideas which base that process are located in the two theological constructs: the theology of spiritual battle and the health and wealth gospel. The body is transverse by of both theologies and in it occurs the immanent salvation. So we delimitate our research object: the multiplicity of expressions of body in the brasilian pentecostalism in the process of integral cure as immanent salvation, assuming our relationship with the research object interdisciplinary. As empirical basis we use also ethnographical procedures accomplished in the International Church of God Kingdom's Cathedral (ICGK) in Florianópolis - SC, as well as the large bibliography produce by the leader of ICGK, Edir Macedo, and an autobiography of a formed pastor. Based on our confrontation with the research object, we conceive the project Homo Sacer of Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben, as a instigated and original interpretation horizon for the different body expressions in brasilian neopentecostalism. We evidenced that entrance of an individual in a neopentecostal church implicates offering (and capturing) its life to absolute power of Sovereign that reigns in that place, as well to the hands of the religious agents that govern the church. Neopentecostal temple is a field, in which every intervention on body is possible. The follower identification with neopentecostal doctrinal principles leads individual to sacralize productive acting, operosity, because is oriented to glorificate God. Money, as a immanent divine power and result of productive acting, is the most important sacrifice which is to do, mediating relationship between God and the human beings. We ask ourselves, if the relationship with the body based on the devotion to production and the unconditional offer of itself to an absolute power of life and dead, could be, in the limit of total subjetivation, a gap for subjectivity.

Previous issue date: 2015This dissertation analyzes the controversial extra ecclesiam nulla salus ecclesiological axiom. Many statements are made about the axiom that is being studied, however, one can see that some of these statements are illegitimate. By studying it, one can realize that it is an axiom which, when denied or mistakenly understood, denies the fundamental truths of the Church of Jesus Christ. At the risk of being interpreted in order to deny the fundamental truths of the Catholic faith, even inside the Church. Thus, from a historical reconstruction, through its theological reality and, finally, aiming its update by hermeneutical paths, we tried to read the axiom, through its contextualization and a faithful approach to the Scripture, Tradition and the Magisterium, what it really says and what it does not say.
A presente dissertação analisa o controverso axioma eclesiológico extra ecclesiam nulla salus. Muitas afirmações são feitas a partir do axioma estudado, porém, será possível perceber que algumas delas são ilegítimas. Ao estudá-lo, é possível perceber que se trata de um axioma que, ao ser negado ou compreendido de forma equivocada, nega verdades fundamentais da Igreja de Jesus Cristo. Correndo o risco de ser interpretado erroneamente, mesmo no interno da Igreja, de modo a também negar verdades fundamentais à fé católica. Assim, partindo de uma reconstrução histórica, passando pela sua realidade teológica e, finalmente, visando sua atualização pelos caminhos hermenêuticos, procurou-se ler no axioma, através da sua contextualização e de uma abordagem fiel às Escrituras, à Tradição e ao Magistério, aquilo que ele verdadeiramente diz e o que ele não diz.

Severino’s philosophical thought is, nowadays, one of the most impressive and debatable speculative itinerary in the maze of negativity: an authentic itinerarium mentis in nihilo.
By the reading of his basic-thesis – the parmenidian denial of change, the assertion of the eternity of everything, and the “joy” of being – Severino’s system might be condescendingly estimated as a form of irenicism; despite that, the italian thinker achieves their own speculative outcome through a dense and suffered struggle with some of the most decisive issues of the classical thought: the structure of becoming, the statute of the contradiction, as well as the unresolved issue of not-being.
The fourth chapter of his masterpiece, La struttura originaria, is an example of this kind of gigantomachia; in fact, contrarily to the apparent serenity of the logical rigor adduced, the resolution of not-being’s problem requires the difficult experience of diaporein: which is the capacity to go beyond the unthinkable but staying and living inside it.
In this context, Aristotle is the philosopher that more than others inspires Severino’s speculative itinerary. Particularly because of his discussion of the bebaiotate arche. Infact the principle of Non-contradiction allows us to save the being from every refutation, but only exposing it to the momentary chiaroscuro of its negation.
This contribution is therefore focused on the essential connection between eternity’s foundation and eternity’s refusal in E. Severino’s philosophical thought. The meaning of elenchos is clearly shown from the sixth paragraph of his Ritornare a Parmenide as an inspection of the self-annihilation of any denial of the incontrovertible truth. However: how can it be explained that the rejection is a “self-refutation”? Which conceptual elements are involved in the “self-restrain” maneuver? Which “enigma” stays hidden in the deaf powerlessness of negativity? Our critic work is aimed to address and answer the aforementioned questions.

Il lavoro, che si articola come un'analisi del romanzo Infinite Jest, sarà diviso in 3 capitoli, introduzione e conclusioni escluse. Ogni capitolo prenderà in considerazione uno dei tre filoni narrativi del romanzo: la ricerca della cartuccia Infinite Jest, le vicende che ruotano attorno all'ETA, e quelle che vedono protagonisti i residenti della Ennet House. Il filo conduttore è far emeregere, soprattutto, il ricorre di alcune figure (modelli generali di topoi) che trovano incarnazione in diversi personaggi e/o topoi specifici, le quali, contribuiscono a tenere unito e coeso un testo che non è affatto, per me, caotico bensì ben strutturato. Il secondo aspetto che verrà evidenziato è la ricchezza di dettagli in cui è immersa la narrazione, ricchezza che testimonia, a mio parere, l'intenzione dell'autore a spiegare tutto (o quasi) al lettore, di modo che non si perda nelle spire narrative del romanzo, sì da, in ultima istanza, tenere aperto il dialogo con egli.

Il presente elaborato intende proporre una lettura complessiva del filosofare kierkegaardiano come inscindibilmente connesso con il problema del nihilismo. In una prima parte si delineerà una storia del nihilismo, con un particolare riguardo per il versante religioso di tale fenomeno. Si cercherà di distinguere (per quanto possibile) tra "storia del nulla" e "storia del nihilismo", appoggiando l'analisi su testi che sono diventati canonici in tal senso. Si proseguirà quindi con un'analisi puntuale di tali testi e le letture che questi avanzano delle figure moderne del nihilismo.
Nella seconda parte il problema del nihilismo, con tutte le sue ambiguità, verrà legato direttamente al pensiero di Kierkegaard. Per proporre tale lettura, ci soffermeremo primariamente su cosa si possa intendere come nihilistico nel filosofo danese, per poi ripercorrere - tramite lo svolgersi nella storia della filosofia - il darsi della "domanda fondamentale" (dove la meontologia incontra il nihilismo) e il suo rapporto con la filosofia kierkegaardiana. Presteremo particolare attenzione al tema del "divenire", chiave di volta per passare da un nihilismo "negativo" ad un nihilismo "positivo", istituendo un confronto critico tra il pensatore danese da una parte e Hegel e Severino dall'altra. Concluderemo tale sezione con un'analisi del possibile superamento del nihilismo negativo nel pensiero religioso kierkegaardiano, che andremo a definire come "mistico".
Nella terza parte tenteremo un raffronto critico tra due autori "kierkegaardiani", Franz Kafka e Fernando Pessoa, per provare ad individuare il loro rapporto con il nihilismo e le possibili soluzioni da essi adottate per risolverlo.

Il rischio di credito ha da sempre costituito la principale causa delle perdite registrate dalle istituzioni finanziare durante l’esercizio della loro attività.
La necessità di gestire tale situazione, se da un lato ha portato alla nascita e al conseguente sviluppo di modelli analitici funzionali alla quantificazione del rischio di credito, dall’altro è stata supportata dalla normativa di vigilanza, mediante la definizione di criteri di adeguatezza patrimoniale, al fine di promuovere una maggiore solidità ed efficienza del sistema bancario internazionale.
Con riferimento a quest’ultimo aspetto rileva l’accordo sul capitale, che ha avuto la sua prima formulazione nel 1988 e che è stato successivamente oggetto di continui aggiornamenti e modifiche, fino ad arrivare alla definizione del nuovo impianto regolamentare, conosciuto con il nome di Basilea 3.
Il principio di adeguatezza patrimoniale, in un’ottica di gestione del rischio di credito, trova applicazione con riferimento a tutte le posizioni bancarie per le quali è previsto il pagamento, da parte del debitore, di somme di denaro prestabilite.
Tuttavia ai nostri fini si cercherà, dapprima, di rappresentare ed analizzare l’andamento negli ultimi dieci anni dei titoli governativi emessi dallo stato italiano, per poi individuare, con riferimento ad un campione casuale di banche italiane, il possibile impatto patrimoniale derivante da un’ipotetica modifica normativa che attribuisce un diverso trattamento prudenziale a quelle esposizioni verso o garantite da amministrazioni centrali e banche centrali per le quali, in un contesto di applicazione del metodo standardizzato ai fini della determinazione del requisito minimo patrimoniale, è previsto attualmente un fattore di ponderazione nullo.

A partir d’una visió crítica emmarcada dins de l’hermenèutica d’arrel pareysoniana, hom aplica les consideracions heideggerianes al voltant de Hölderlin a la figura de Leopardi i es planteja, com a pressupòsit inicial, que aquest autor també forma part dels anomenats poetes-filòsofs: Giacomo Leopardi medita mentre canta. No es tracta, doncs, d’una investigació històrico-filosòfica o històrico-filològica, sinó d’una tesi de tipus documental amb una finalitat palesament exploratòria en què se subratlla la importància de l’activitat interpretativa a l’hora de constituir i transformar l’ésser. El principal objectiu d’aquest estudi consisteix a distingir el nulla possibilitador del niente anorreador i a equiparar, doncs, el nulla leopardià amb l’ésser. El nulla esdevé el veritable fonament sense fonament amb què es caracteritza el seu pensar poètico-filosòfic, així com l’element que origina la indissolubilitat entre les reflexions estètiques i ontològiques que saturen la totalitat de l’obra i el pensament leopardians. La principal aportació teorètica d’aquest estudi, el neologisme imitació-interpretant, i amb el qual hom situa la meditació de l’italià dins el solc de la mímesi aristotèlica, subratlla, de fet, l’originària i indissoluble duplicitat de tot acte imitatiu: tota imitació en imitar, interpreta i constitueix l’ésser. D’aquest nou terme en resulta, per tant, el segon gran objectiu de la tesi, és a dir, la distinció entre còpia i imitació, la qual permet de concloure que el seu és un pensar ultrametafísic. I és que mentre que la còpia classicista fa referència a un ésser-com-a-objecte i, per consegüent, a la mera còpia d’un contingut òntic —un model establert a priori—, la imitació-interpretant, en canvi, remet a un pensar ontològic segons el qual l’ésser es dóna en el mateix moment en què hom s’hi relaciona, és a dir, tan bon punt és imitat i, consegüentment, redescrit. A l’últim, tant el nulla com la imitació-interpretant permeten que la tesi, en tant que elements vertebradors del projecte ultrametafísic de Leopardi, reinterpreti tres dels conceptes poètico-filosòfics més importants del present autor: ultrafilosofia, mezza filosofia i poesia mista. El nulla se convierte en el verdadero fundamento sin fundamento con el que se caracteriza su pensar poético-filosófico, así como el elemento que origina la indisolubilidad entre las reflexiones estéticas y ontológicas que saturan la totalidad de la obra y el pensamiento leopardiano. Por último, tanto el nulla como la imitación-interpretante permiten que la tesis, en calidad de elementos vertebradores del proyecto ultrametafísico de Leopardi, reinterprete tres de los conceptos poético-filosóficos más importantes del presente autor: ultrafilosofia, mezza filosofia y poesia mista. Based on a critical vision framed within the hermeneutics of the Pareysonian root, Heideggerian considerations around Hölderlin are applied to the figure of Leopardi and it is considered, as an initial assumption, that this author also forms part of the so-called poets-philosophers: Giacomo Leopardi meditates while singing. Therefore, it is not a historical-philosophical or historical-philological investigation, but a thesis of a documentary type with a purpose that is fundamentally exploratory, underlining the importance of interpretative activity when it comes to constituting and transforming the Being. The main objective of this study is to distinguish the possibilitator nulla from the exhausting niente and to equate, thence, the leopardian nulla with the Being. The nulla becomes the true unfounded foundation with which its poetic-philosophical thinking is characterized, as well as the element that causes the inseparability between the aesthetic and ontological reflections, that saturate the totality of the work and the leopardian thought. The main theoretical contribution of this study, the neologism imitation-interpreting with which the Italian’s meditation is aligned with the Aristotelian Mimesis, underlines, in fact, the original and indissoluble duplicity of any imitative act: any imitation in imitating, interprets and constitutes the Being. This new term results, thus, as the second great objective of the thesis, that is, the distinction between copy and imitation, which allows us to conclude that his thinking is an ultrametaphysical one. And while the classicist refers to a Being-as-a-object and, as a result, to the mere copy of an ontic content —a model established a priori—, imitation-interpreting, on the other hand, refers to an ontological thinking according to which the Being occurs at the same moment in which one is related to it, that is to say, as soon as it is imitated and, consequently, redescribed. Ultimately, both the nulla and the imitation-interpreting allow the thesis, as the backbone of Leopardi's ultrametaphysical project, to reinterpret three of the most important poetic-philosophical concepts of the present author: ultrafilosofia, mezza filosofia and poesia mista. So, all three concepts point to the ultrametaphysicity of their poetical thinking, in the sense that it is a philosophy and a poetry that does not seek the transparent immediacy, which would imply the shrinkage of Being, but the nulla or the void of meaning of the interpretative interposition. Imitation, translation and poetry become, then, the examples with which interposition is illustrated as an ontological obstacle, that is, as the element that allow to create reality.

Einführung:
Mit dem Einmarsch der Roten Armee endete am 8. Mai 1945 der Zweite Weltkrieg auch in Dresden. Die nationalsozialistische Dresdner Tageszeitung „Der Freiheitskampf“ agitierte an diesem letzten Tag des alten Regimes noch einmal seine Leser: „Vergeßt niemals daß, solange wir die Waffen nicht aus der Hand legen, uns kein Feind schlagen und wir unser Schicksal selbst gestalten können!“. Diese Ausgabe der Zeitung vom 8. Mai wurde jedoch nicht mehr ausgeliefert, das nationalsozialistische Deutschland war am Ende.
Nur zwei Wochen später, am 22. Mai 1945, erschien eine neue Dresdner Zeitung, die „Tageszeitung für die deutsche Bevölkerung“, jetzt herausgegeben von der sowjetischen Verwaltung. Als einziges Nachrichtenmedium der Nachkriegsmonate ist die Zeitung eines der wichtigsten Zeitzeugnisse und zugleich eine Chronik des ideologischen Wandels unter der kommunistischen Besatzung.
Die Ausstellung zeigt die seltenen, auf schlechtem Papier gedruckten und kaum mehr benutzbaren originalen Zeitungen. Auf Vergrößerungstafeln können die Seiten gut lesbar präsentiert, ausgewählte Artikel näher vorgestellt und durch zeitgenössische Fotografien anschaulich ergänzt werden. Die frühesten Beiträge rechnen mit der alten Elite und den Verbrechen des Nationalsozialismus ab und nehmen eine neue Führungsformation und ihr Wertesystem in den Blick, während die Bevölkerung versucht, sich im Alltag der weitgehend zerstörten Stadt zurechtzufinden.
Zeitungen sind erstrangige Quellen, „Sekundenzeiger der Geschichte“ (Schopenhauer), in denen über Weltgeschichtliches und Alltägliches fortlaufend berichtet wird. Eine Stunde Null hat es nicht gegeben. Auch die Dresdner „Tageszeitung“ offenbart neben dem Wandel des Neubeginns Kontinuitäten des Denkens und der Sprache, verdeutlicht Verdrängung durch neue ideologische Überlagerung. Eine Karikatur vom 31. Juli 1945 fängt die Stimmung inmitten des ideologischen Umbruchs ein: „Als Pimpf (Mitglied des nationalsozialistischen Jungvolks) warst du doch immer krank, wenn Dienst war?“ „Klar, Mensch, das war doch das Gesündeste!“
Die SLUB bewahrt historische Tageszeitungen als wertvolle Geschichtsquellen. Durch ihre Digitalisierung können sie für die Öffentlichkeit, für Kultur und Wissenschaft frei zugänglich gemacht werden.

Evidence of a mitochondrial abnormality in PrP-null mice was sought by extensive assessment of the morphological and functional characteristics of isolated brain mitochondria. Study of isolated mitochondrial suspensions by electron microscopy revealed that PrP-null mitochondria were larger and, when cristae density was quantitatively measured using a novel technique, to have a reduced cristae density when compared to controls. A significant increase in respiratory capacity was detected in PrP-null mitochondria when metabolising Complex I substrates, but not when electrons entered downstream of complex 1. This implicates Complex 1 as a site for pathological change. As recent studies of the Mecp2-null mouse model of Rett syndrome detected increased transcription of Uqcrc1 (a core subunit of Complex III), mitochondrial morphology and respiration were studied in Mecp2-null mice. Whilst electron microscopy did not reveal any gross alterations in mitochondrial size or cristae density, respiration measurements revealed a severe phenotype in symptomatic, but not presymptomatic, Mecp2-null mice. Mitochondrial coupling was considerably reduced in isolated brain mitochondria from Mecp2-null mice indicating reduced mitochondrial efficiency. This effect was accompanied by an increase in respiratory capacity through Complex III. In order to determine if the overexpression of Uqcrc1 was causative in the production of the observed increase in respiratory capacity, the respiration rates of N2A cells overexpressing Uqcrc1 were measured. As transfected N2A cells showed significantly increased respiration rates through Complex III, the up-regulation of Uqcrc1 may be causative in producing the respiratory capacity increase observed in the animal model. These results enhance the evidence for dysfunctional mitochondria in both PrP-null and Mecp2-null mouse models and are discussed in relation to other investigations of prion disease, Rett syndrome and other models of neurodegenerative disease.

Dans le cadre de nombreuses règlementations, l'établissement de stratégies de suivi des populations de cétacés est devenu un besoin prioritaire. Les principales caractéristiques d'une stratégie de suivi sont la signification écologique, la crédibilité statistique et le rapport qualité/coût élevé. La mise en place d'indicateurs permet de réduire les coûts de suivi, et propose un outil de communication entre scientifiques et gestionnaires. Un indicateur est une donnée vérifiable et mesurable qui renseigne sur plus qu'elle-même. La collecte des données d'échouages est peu coûteuse, mais l'absence de stratégie d'échantillonnage des populations en mer est une entrave à leur utilisation dans le cadre de stratégies de suivi. L'objectif de cette thèse est de développer des indicateurs des populations de cétacés à partir des données d'échouages. Quatre indicateurs ont été développés au cours de cette thèse. La part des cétacés échoués par rapport aux cétacés morts en mer a été estimée. Les séries temporelles d'échouages ont été affranchies des conditions de dérive, par l'établissement de l'hypothèse nulle (hypothèse d'uniformité spatiale et temporelle des cétacés morts en mer) et constitue l'anomalie d'échouage. La cartographie de la mortalité de cétacés a été réalisée, et détermine le nombre de dauphins morts en mer, indépendamment de leur probabilité de s'échouer. Enfin la distribution de mortalité observée par rapport à la distribution attendue des cétacés morts sous l'hypothèse nulle a été calculée. Elle permet d'identifier des zones de fortes mortalité ou abondance relative. Ces quatre indicateurs pourront être intégrés à différents plans de gestion, nationaux ou internationaux.

The characterization of null quadrature domains in Rn (n ≥ 3) has been an open problem throughout the past two and a half decades. A substantial contribution was done by Friedman and Sakai [10]; they showed that if the complement is bounded, then null quadrature domains are exactly the complement of ellip-
soids. The first result with unbounded complements appeared in [15], there it is assumed the complement is contained in an infinitely cylinder. The aim of this paper is to show the relation between null quadrature domains and Newton's theorem on the gravitational force induced by homogeneous homoeoidal ellipsoids. We also succeed to make progress in the classification problem and we show that if the boundary of null quadrature domain is contained in a strip and the complement satisfies a certain capacity condition at infinity, then it must be a half-space or a complement of a strip. In addition, we present a Phragm¶en-Lindelöf type theorem which seems to be forgotten in the literature.

It had good performance against array response errors, but it cannot reject strong interferences. In this paper, we propose a scheme for robust adaptive beamforming with broad nulls to reject strong interferences. We add a quadratic constraint to suppress the power of the array response over a spatial region of the interferences. The optimal weighting vector is then obtained by minimizing the power of the array output subject to quadratic constrains on the desired signal and interferences, respectively. We derive the formulations for the optimization problem and solve it efficiently using Newton recursive algorithm. Numerical examples are presented to compare the performances of the robust adaptive beamforming with no null constrains, sharp nulls and broad nulls. The results show its powerful ability to reject strong interferences.

Plasmas occur in many technical, laboratory and space environments, and often behave in a highly ideal manner. This means that advection of the plasma can store large amounts of energy in the magnetic field. This energy is released when a sudden change in the magnetic topology of the field occurs-facilitated by the process of `magnetic reconnection'. A great deal of research has been focussed on understanding the reconnection process and we now appreciate that the 3D process is critically di erent from early 2D models. The magnetic field in many astrophysical plasmas, for example in the solar corona, is known to have a highly complex { and clearly three-dimensional { structure. Turbulent plasma motions in high-ß regions where field lines are anchored, such as the solar interior, can store large amounts of energy in the magnetic field. This energy can only be released when magnetic reconnection occurs. Reconnection may only occur in locations where huge gradients of the magnetic field develop, and one candidate for such locations are magnetic null points, known to be abundant for example in the solar atmosphere. Reconnection leads to changes in the topology of the magnetic field, and energy being released as heat, kinetic energy and acceleration of particles. Thus reconnection is responsible for many dynamic processes, for instance solar flares and jets in the solar atmosphere.The aim of this thesis is to investigate the properties of magnetic reconnection at a 3D null point. One key focus will be to understand the dependence of the process on the symmetry of the magnetic field around the null. In particular we examine the rate of reconnection of magnetic flux at the null point, as well as how the current sheet forms and its properties. According to our present understanding, there are three main modes of magnetic reconnection that may occur at 3D nulls, spine-fan reconnection, torsional spine reconnection and torsional fan reconnection. We first consider the spine-fan reconnection mode. It is found that the basic structure of the mode of magnetic reconnection considered is una ected by varying the magnetic field symmetry, that is, the plasma flow is found to cross both the spine and fan of the null. However the peak intensity and dimensions of the current sheet are dependent on the symmetry/asymmetry of the field lines. As a result, the reconnection rate is also found to be strongly dependent on the field asymmetry. In addition, the properties of the torsional spine and torsional fan modes of magnetic reconnection at 3D nulls are investigated. New analytical models are developed which for the first time include a current layer that is fully spatially localised around the spine or fan of the null. The principal aim is to investigate the effect of varying the degree of asymmetry of the null point magnetic field on the resulting reconnection process { where previous studies always considered a non-generic radially symmetric null. Analytical solutions are derived for the steady kinematic equations at a three dimensional null point. In these models the electric current lies parallel to either the fan or spine. In order to conform the results of kinematic models, numerical simulations are performed in which the full set of resistive MHD equations are solved. It is found that the geometry of the current layers within which torsional spine and torsional fan reconnection occur is strongly dependent on the symmetry of the magnetic field. Torsional spine reconnection still occurs in a narrow tube around the spine, but with ellipticalcross-section when the fan eigenvalues are dfferent. The eccentricity of the ellipse increases as the degree of asymmetry increases, with the short axis of the ellipse being along the strong field direction. The spatiotemporal peak current, and the peak reconnection rate attained, are found not to depend strongly on the degree of asymmetry. For torsional fan reconnection, the reconnection occurs in a planar disk in the fan surface, which is again elliptical when the symmetry of the magnetic field is broken. The short axis of the ellipse is along the weak field direction, with the current being peaked in these weak field regions. The peak current and peak reconnection rate in this case are clearly dependent on the asymmetry, with the peak current increasing but the reconnection rate decreasing as the degree of asymmetry is increased.

On s'interesse a l'existence et a la caracterisation de strategies optimales et des valeurs quand la duree de l'interaction tend vers l'infini. Ces travaux s'inscrivent dans le cadre de la theorie des jeux repetes a information incomplete (aumann-maschler, mertens-zamir), des jeux stochastiques (shapley, kohlberg, bewley-kohlberg, everett, mertens-neyman), et des jeux stochastiques a information incomplete (sorin, sorin-zamir). Ces etudes sont consacrees a la convergence des valeurs des jeux finis et escomptes (quand la duree du jeu tend vers l'infini), et a l'existence de la valeur, du maxmin et du minmax uniforme du jeu infiniment repete. La premiere partie reprend l'etude des jeux a information incomplete finis et l'approche duale introduite par de meyer : cette approche est fondee sur l'etude de la conjuguee de fenchel de la fonction valeur et sur son interpretation comme la valeur d'un jeu, dit jeu dual, dont les strategies optimales sont etroitement liees a celles du jeu initial (collaboration avec b. De meyer). La deuxieme partie est consacree a des preuves d'existence de la limite des valeurs des jeux escomptes par une approche fonctionnelle : il s'agit d'une etude locale de l'operateur de recurrence. On s'inspire de la preuve de kohlberg pour les jeux absorbants, qu'on etend aux jeux a information incomplete des deux cotes et aux jeux absorbants a information incomplete d'un cote. La problématique de cette thèse est l'établissement de l'équivalence entre l'indépendance algébrique de valeurs de fonctions mahlériennes aux points algébriques et celle des fonctions elles-mêmes. L'une de nos motivations est l'observation fructueuse de L. Denis selon laquelle il est possible en caractéristique non nulle de déformer des nombres remarquables (périodes de modules de Drinfeld) comme valeurs de fonctions mahlériennes. Nous démontrons notamment que toute relation algébrique homogène entre valeurs, en un point algébrique non nul régulier, de solutions d'un système mahlérien engendrant une extension régulière, provient de la spécialisation d'une relation algébrique homogène entre les fonctions elles-mêmes. Il s'agit de l'analogue de travaux de P. Philippon et de B. Adamczewski et C. Faverjon et d'un raffinement d'un théorème fondamental de Ku. Nishioka, dans le cas où K est un corps de nombres. Denis that it is possible to reach special numbers (periods of Drinfeld modules) as values of Mahler functions in positive characteristic. We show that every homogeneous algebraic relation between values of solutions of Mahler systems, which generate regular extensions, at nonzero algebraic regular numbers, arises as specialization of an homogeneous algebraic relation between the functions themselves. This is the analogue of the work of P. Philippon and B. Adamczewski and C. Faverjon, and a refinement of a fundamental theorem from Ku. Nishioka, when K is a number field. Thus, the study of algebraic independence between values of Mahler functions turns into that between the functions themselves. But algebraic Mahler functions over function fields of positive characteristic are not necessarily rational, contrary to the number fields case. Transcendence of Mahler functions in this framework still remains mysterious. Nevertheless, we state that this dichotomy is still valid for d-Mahler functions, when p does not divide d. Moreover, we prove a Kolchin theorem that provides a sufficient condition for algebraic independence of inhomogeneous Mahler functions of order 1, along with a characterization of the transcendence of such functions. Finally, we are interested in algebraic independence measures of values of Mahler functions in positive characteristic. We suggest an approach, based on a recent work of E. Zorin in characteristic zero, which would give such qualitative results in our context

This essay argues for the importance of the study of production, distribution, and the cultural impact of texts for digital librarianship. An argument is made for integrating historical viewpoints in coursework that can prepare master's library and information science (MLIS) students for the curatorial aspects of digital librarianship. Several components of that approach are discussed in this essay. Their application in the classroom using a course on American bestsellers which involved collaborative teaching using the Internet as a case study, is presented as well. This paper reveals how book historians may find new roles as interpreters of the transformation of the library, from a logocentric library, which traditionally provides a fixed physical framework within which texts are accessible to users, to a soft library delivered on distributed servers - as a knowledge continuum. The emergence of new modes of textual transmission, the changing concept of the text, and the need to create new social spaces in which texts are collected and used can benefit from an awareness of the production, distribution, and use of text in traditional media environments.

In most natural languages, a sentence may include a variety of missing elements the recoverability of which is made possible by different processes. This thesis investigates the type of syntactic recoverability found in null argument languages. It is supposed that the mechanisms responsible for this type of recoverability are deeply embedded in Universal Grammar and that this suggests that there is no need for a parameter designed to allow empty arguments per se.
The main goal pursued here is to present a systematic account of the similarities between recoverability through verbal agreement and recoverability through clitics. This results in the proposal that languages with subject clitics and/or object clitics are the same as languages with rich subject agreement and/or object agreement as far as the licensing of the empty pronominal pro is concerned.
We then examine the relationship between clitics and overt NPs in the so-called clitic doubling constructions. The hypothesis defended here is that subject clitics and object clitics are surface realizations of the same abstract element and that this can account for the symmetry existing between various types of clitic regarding the licensing of pro, the possibilities for doubling, and extractions out of doubling constructions at S-structure and at LF.Arts, Faculty of

A novel Fpr2-/- mouse colony was used to explore the biology of Fpr2, a GPCR related to the human FPR2/ALX receptor that recognises lipoxin A4 (LXA4) annexin A1 (AnxA1) and serum amyloid A (SAA). Southern blotting, PCR and radio-ligand binding confirmed receptor deletion in the mouse Fpr2-/- colony. A GFP target/reporter strategy was employed in generating this novel transgenic to monitor promoter activity in living cells. This study revealed a propensity of Fpr2 for granulocytes, as well as a distinct role in macrophage (Mφ) maturation. Characterisation of Fpr2-/- Mφ revealed selective ERK phosphorylation triggered by the AnxA1-derived peptide Ac2-26, W peptide and Compound 43 (C43). Despite this Fpr-dependent signalling cascade via ERK, it was not a functional prognostic for cell migration in vitro or in vivo. Formyl peptide (fMLP) and serum amyloid A (SAA) chemotactic action was attenuated in Fpr2-/- Mφ, as well as the pro-phagocytic effects of Ac2-26 and LXA4. There was no observable naïve phenotype associated with Fpr2 depletion. To investigate the patho-physiology of Fpr2, acute and chronic inflammatory models were investigated in vivo to dissect different aspects of the receptor during disease progression. Notably Fpr2-/- mice exhibited stimulus specific discrepancies in inflammatory response. An acute IL-1β-induced air pouch model 6 revealed predominantly anti-migratory pharmacology of Fpr2 ligands, with a notable exception of SAA, discovered to be anti-migratory in the absence of Fpr2. Analysis of the full time-course of the zymosan peritonitis pointed to a subtle role for Fpr2 in neutrophil and monocyte migration as well as Mφ maturation. Of interest, exudate levels of SAA were augmented in Fpr2-/- mice revealing complex regulatory receptor/ligand circuits active during on-going inflammatory reactions. Finally, Fpr2-/- mice displayed pronounced arthritic responses upon treatment with the K/BxN arthrogenic serum, in comparison to their wild type controls. We conclude that Fpr2 can serve varied regulatory functions during the host response to inflammatory insult.

Engenharia InformáticaDatabases store information that is intended to model the real world and to help in modeling, they use constraints that shape the information according to the world view. However, when a new constraint is defined, the data contained in the database may not respect it and so the database should be repaired. Those repairs are made by adding, removing or updating tuples, making as few modifications as possible to satisfy the constraints. In order to determine the repairs of a database with respect to new constraints, there are already some available approaches that provide a solution. But databases also need to contain information that is absence, which is represented through null values. Null values are not regular values and they represent information that is missing or unknown. When using null values, there is no consensus in the literature on how to interpret them when checking constraint satisfaction. Also, there is not a practical implementation to do the repairing regarding null values. In this document, we study the problem of dealing with null values in the repairing process and propose a (both practical and theoretically sound) solution for this problem including the definition of semantics for null values to achieve constraint satisfaction, and how to proceed to make the databases repairs, ending with a practical implementation of the proposed solution using Answer-set Programming.
