Abstract:
After special training a nurse practitioner ran an independent clinic for follow-up patients with breast disease. All patients referred to a single surgical firm with breast cancer and most patients with benign disease who required follow-up were included. In the first 2 years of the service 382 clinic visits were recorded (median 5/clinic, range 1–12). The nurse practitioner reviewed 236 (62%) patients alone but involved the consultant surgeon in the remainder. No significant lesion was missed in these patients. The nurse-led clinic is popular with patients and, subject to careful supervision

Abstract:
Coal mine dust lung disease (CMDLD) includes a spectrum of occupational lung diseases affecting coal miners. There is conclusive evidence that comprehensive intervention can reduce dyspnoea, improve exercise performance, and enhance health-related quality of life. Nurse-led interventions have shown great changes in disease burden on the healthcare system. So, a nurse-led pulmonary interventional package on respiratory disorders of coal mine workers can change the health status of coal miners. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a nurse-led pulmonary intervention package

Increasing demands for health care globally often lead to discussions about expanding the involvement of nurses in a range of nontraditional roles. Several countries have introduced nurse endoscopists as a means of easing the burden of demand for a range of endoscopic procedures. A shortage of medical staff in Australia combined with increasing demand for endoscopy led to the implementation of nurse endoscopists as a pilot program in the state of Queensland, where a nurse practitioner model was implemented, and Victoria, where an advanced practice model was used. This presents a strategic workforce model aimed at expanding nurse-led primary care in underserved communities, addressing critical gaps in healthcare access, equity, and workforce shortages. As global healthcare systems face mounting demands for primary care, nurse-led models have emerged as effective, evidence-based approaches to improving health outcomes, particularly in medically underserved areas. The proposed model focuses on developing a sustainable pipeline of qualified nurses through targeted recruitment, educational advancement, and financial incentives such as scholarships and loan

Summary The aim of the paper was to develop and validate a scale for estimating the likelihood of a nurse student to become a competent nurse. Admitting students to nursing schools without assessing their personal characteristics has led to serious consequences, including low quality of nursing care. Early detection of students who are at risk of attrition or becoming non-competent nurses can save the time, money, and energy devoted to educating and training the future nurses. A mixed methods design will be employed. Using literature review and interviews with nurse students, clinical nurses,

Background UK endoscopy services face considerable workforce pressures from an increasing demand for procedures. To meet this need, health services have introduced the role of nurse endoscopist (also known as clinical, non-medical or non-physician endoscopist). These roles have grown and developed to include performing many complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as the provision of endoscopy training. Aims This study examines the lived experiences of (nurse and medical) endoscopy trainees, especially regarding being trained by nurse endoscopists. Methods The study employed inte
