Abstract:
This review discusses five questions concerning nutrition in adolescence. Do adolescents have special nutritional needs? What are the recommended dietary intakes? What do adolescent schoolchildren eat? What nutritional disorders occur at this age? The prevalence of iron deficiency anaemia, rickets, coeliac disease, iodine deficiency, dental caries, weight disorders, zinc deficiency and pellagra are discussed. What is the role of school meals or other food supplementation programmes? The primary school years (5–11 in Britain) are relatively quiet nutritionally. Growth occurs at a steady rate neither accelerating nor decelerating, nutritional diseases are less common and in the majority no profound biological events occur. Nutritional interest is in the secondary school child (11–18 years in Britain) particularly in the events of puberty and adolescence. This review aims to determine five points concerning adolescents. Do they have special nutritional needs? What are their recommended dietary intakes? What do they eat? What nutritional disorders occur at this age? What is the role of school meals or other food supplementation programmes?

As with human behavior, nutritional behavior is a complex phenomenon influenced by a wide variety of factors. The most important of these factors is that nutritional habits are exposed to especially the negative effects health communication and new media in many aspects. Today, when communication and information opportunities are at a high level, people's access to various information about foods, healthy nutrition and food group; their ability to interpret, understand, criticize and make healthy food choices in line with this information is effective on their nutritional habits. As a result, in addition to the existing health problems, people are faced with many new health conditions arising from eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Orthorexia Nervosa, and Obesity. It is known that obesity poses a risk for various diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, some hormone-dependent cancers and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, which are generally one of the most common of these health problems. The spread of fast-food culture also causes an increase in unhealthy nutrition and especially obesity. Therefore, the consequences of the effects of social orientations on nutrition can be pathological from time to time. This review aimed to provide information about the effects of health communication on nutritional disorders and some diseases resulting from these effects.

Adolescents are a group that is vulnerable to health problems and nutrition, especially in adolescent girls. The emergence of nutritional problems in adolescent girls can be caused by: by a extreem diet, physical activity, knowledge of nutrition, poor eating habits and lifestyle ( life style ) such as body image ( body image ). Besides that in the view of the young women a good body is a slim body so that many teenagers feel dissatisfied and not confident if the body is not slim then, this body image is the trigger level the emergence of eating disorders in adolescents. This study aims to identify and analyze the relationship between nutritional knowledge, perception of body image and disorders eating with nutritional status of adolescent girls in vocational high schools in Gresik Regency. This research is an Analytical Observational study with a Cluster Random design Sampling with respondents as many as 87 respondents who were selected by purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study was a nutritional knowledge questionnaire, questionnaire BSQ-34, EAT-26 questionnaire and food recall questionnaire 1 x 24 hours as additional data intake respondent energy. Data analysis using Chi-Square test and spearman test. The results shows that most of the respondents have good nutritional status (82.2%), there are (65.6%) respondents have sufficient knowledge of nutrition, there are (40.2%) respondents feel dissatisfied with their body image, there are (41.4%) respondents at risk of having eating disorders and eating disorders most of the respondents experienced a severe energy deficit with an average energy of 776 kcal. Test statistics between nutritional knowledge and nutritional status (p= 0.000), body image and nutritional status (p= 0.129) and eating disorders with nutritional status (p = 0.465). The conclusion, there is a relationship knowledge of nutrition with nutritional status of adolescent girls and there is no relationship body image, eating disorders with nutritional status of adolescent girls in Gresik Regency.

Abstract Children with neuromuscular disorders (NMDs) may experience a spectrum of nutritional issues with adverse health consequences. This review summarizes the current understanding of nutritional care in pediatric NMDs, recognizing disease-specific aspects of nutrition alongside the challenges and needs in dietetic care. General or disease-related nutritional issues for children with NMDs include being underweight, overweight, or obese and having swallowing difficulty, gastroesophageal reflux, diarrhea, and/or constipation. Specific challenges in NMD nutritional assessment include alterations in body composition and energy requirements and difficulties in measuring anthropometry. Multidisciplinary dietetic intervention focuses on optimizing nutrient intakes to avert growth failure or obesity and managing feeding difficulties and gastrointestinal problems. Care guidelines are disease specific and vary in approach and detail. To promote best clinical practice across diverse settings, a standardized approach to assessing growth and nutrition across all pediatric NMDs is needed to direct optimal care centered on individual requirements. Future studies should focus on determining the prevalence of specific nutritional issues and the effectiveness of specific interventions among various pediatric NMD populations.

Sleep disorder significantly affects the life quality of a large number of people but is still an underrecognized disease. Dietary nutrition is believed to play a significant impact on sleeping wellness. Many nutritional supplements have been used trying to benefit sleep wellness. However, the relationship between nutritional components and sleep is complicated. Nutritional factors vary dramatically with different diet patterns and depend significantly on the digestive and metabiotic functions of each individual. Moreover, nutrition can profoundly affect the hormones and inflammation status which directly or indirectly contribute to insomnia. In this review, we summarized the role of major nutritional factors, carbohydrates, lipids, amino acids, and vitamins on sleep and sleep disorders and discussed the potential mechanisms.

Abstract:
The article presents current data on the features of the nutritional status of children with chronic nutritional disorders such as hypotrophy, paratrophy, etc. The authors describe the principles and timing of the complementary foods, as well as the advantages of a certain complementary feeding, depending on the type of nutritional disorder. Often, pediatricians pay close attention to the organization of nutrition of children in the first 12 months of life, as a more vulnerable period, while the age period of 12–36 months is also characterized by a significant growth rate and high demands in a number of micronutrients. The article provides recommendations on the nutritional prevention of alimentary-dependent conditions, as well as for a child with a “problematic” appetite (poor eater). It provides the approaches to the treatment of chronic nutritional disorders in children through the correction of eating behavior and diet therapy, including motivational training with the involvement of parents and family members.

Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurological disorder characterized by social communication disorders, repetitive behaviors that affect cognition. Children with ASD have the potential to experience nutritional status disorders. Children who experience sleep disorders affect the thinking process and affect negative behavior, and behaviors like children with ASD. Parenting helps deal with emotional instability, and compromise on potentially harmful actions in children with ASD. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between nutritional status, parenting style and sleep disorders in children with ASD. Methods: This research method is a descriptive- cross-sectional design with purposive sampling techniques. M-CHAT Screening questionnaire used to diagnose autism. Sleep disorders were measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire, the implementation of parenting was measured by the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ) and height and weight measurements to determine nutritional status. Results: The results of the study were obtained: 1) poor nutritional status (5%) has sleep disturbance with authoritarian parenting; 2) normal nutritional status (84%) has sleep disturbance (62%) with from parents who apply permissive parenting (50%), democratic (31.25%), authoritarian (18.75%); 3) Excess nutritional status comes from permissive parenting and has sleep disturbances (50%). Conclusions: There was no relation between nutritional status, parenting style and sleep disturbances in children with ASD.

Celiac disease (CD), non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS) and Wheat Allergy are all conditions in which the primary treatment is avoidance of specific dietary components. There are certain overlaps and often common misconceptions associated with these three conditions. Following a wheat or gluten free diet can be extremely difficult and overwhelming for an individual as well as having an impact on their nutritional status, growth and quality of life. Currently there is a lack of clarity in terms of global standard dilations for the management of all three of the named conditions. The aim of this paper is to provide an update on different gluten related disorders, their nutritional management and to provide practical guidance on implementing the specific dietary changes.

The nutritional intake plays a crucial role in supporting the physical development of toddlers; however, not all toddlers in Ciledug District receive adequate nutrition. The number of toddlers experiencing nutritional status disorders or nutritional problems fluctuates annually, influenced by the fluctuation in the total number of toddlers. Currently, 2.9% of toddlers in Ciledug District are experiencing nutritional status disorders. This study aims to implement a classification process to determine the nutritional status of toddlers in Ciledug District using the decision tree algorithm. The achieved accuracy of the results is 99.18%, with detailed predictive outcomes as follows: 2298 instances correctly predicted as normal nutrition, 23 instances correctly predicted as abnormal nutrition, 2290 instances correctly predicted as abnormal nutrition, and 15 instances correctly predicted as normal nutrition. The classification results based on age indicate that infants aged 2 weeks have normal nutrition, toddlers aged 1 to 11 months exhibit both normal and abnormal nutrition, toddlers aged 12 months have normal nutrition, toddlers aged 13 to 58 months show both normal and abnormal nutrition, and toddlers aged 59 to 61 months have normal nutrition.

Background: Cerebral palsy (CP), CP with epilepsy, epilepsy, speech delay, Down’s syndrome, autism, ADHD and vertigo are the most common disabilities among children in Bangladesh. Nutritional status assessment is important as these children are at risk of under nutrition, over nutrition or obesity. The primary objective of this study was to determine the nutritional status of children with neuro-disorder and secondary objective was to find out the factors correlated with poor nutritional status in these children.Methods: A retrospective study was conducted from a vast number of patients with neurodevelopment disorder attending the out-patient department (OPD) of Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA), BSMMMU, Dhaka with 149 sample cases from January 2015 to August 2015. Common indicators used to assess the nutrition status of neuro-disorder children were z-scores for weight-for-age, height-for-age, Body Mass Index-for-age percentile.Results: During the 8 months study period, a total of 149 children were taken aged from 1-180 months where Cerebral palsy (CP), CP with epilepsy, epilepsy, speech delay, Down’s syndrome, Autism, ADHD and Vertigo were included and most of the children’s nutritional status were CP had moderately impaired nutritional (53%),CP with epilepsy had mildly impaired nutritional status[(44%),Epilepsy and Speech delay both disorders had same moderately impaired nutritional status(53%),Autism had normal nutritional status(40%),children with Down’s syndrome had severely impaired nutritional status(43%), ADHD children were mostly obese(33%) & most of the children with vertigo had moderately impaired nutritional status (67%).Conclusions: In a developing country like Bangladesh it could be observed that children with Down’s syndrome were at risk of being severely impaired nutritional status, while children with CP, epilepsy, speech delay & vertigo were at risk of being moderately impaired nutritional status and children with ADHD were at risk of being overweight or obese. Children with autism had mostly normal nutritional status, while children of CP with epilepsy were at risk of being mildly impaired nutritional status. Abstract:
Malnutrition is a significant health problem in Indonesia today and is one of the highlights of government programs in the health sector. Nutritional status has a vital role in the growth and development of children and is also closely related to intelligence. Soil-Transmitted Helminths (STH) infestation is a chronic disease that impacts nutritional disorders. One of the community groups that need to be considered in nutritional problems and their relation to intestinal worms is an orphanage. This activity aims to increase community empowerment through education about nutrition and its disorders, STH infestation, and its impact on growth and development. In addition, the nutritional status of the children living in the orphanage will be checked. This activity found that most of the orphanage residents had a low level of knowledge about nutritional disorders and worm infestations, 48.84%. The results of the nutritional status examination showed that most of the orphanage residents had normal nutritional status, but 21.15% were still undernourished.

Abstract:
Youth groups who work as dancers are prone to malnutrition. The leaner body shape is considered to make it easier to move so that teens tend to limit food intake in order to achieve ideal body shape. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of perceptions of body shape, eating disorders, nutritional knowledge, and food intake with nutritional status in adolescent girls in Ayodya Pala. This research was conducted in May 2019 at the Ayodya Pala. The research was a cross-sectional study. This study used a total sampling technique, which means that the total population was the subject of research. The result showed that 58% of subjects had poor nutritional status, 50,8% of subjects had negative perceptions of body shape, 57,1% of subjects had eating disorders, 55,6% of subjects had less knowledge of nutrition. More than 50% of subjects were lack of energy and macronutrient intake. In conclusion, there was a significant relationship (p=0,000) between body shape perception, eating disorders, nutritional knowledge, and food intake with nutritional status.

Increased nutrient needs during pregnancy are accounted for by physiological changes in the maternal organism and requirements of the developing and growing baby. They are realized through a number of physiological adaptations in nutrient metabolism. Physiological pregnancy and adequate fetal development are impossible in deficient nutrients, vitamins, and microelements. Randomized clinical trials in pregnant women have demonstrated that nutrient deficiency in the maternal organism results in pregnancy complications and health problems in the newborn but also accounts for a wide range of chronic disorders among the offspring. Probiotics improve digestive health in pregnant women and affect epigenetic programming of human homeostasis that predisposes to dysbiosis, allergies, and lipid and carbohydrate metabolism disorders. Prevention of vitamin and probiotic deficiency during pre-pregnancy planning, pregnancy, and breastfeeding focuses on ensuring that vitamin intake from food meets the requirements for these nutrients. Complex vitamin supplements containing probiotics treat alimentary deficiency and contribute to the favorable course of pregnancy and fetal development. According to the DSM-5, neurodevelopmental disorders represent a group of heterogeneous conditions, with onset during the developmental period, characterized by an alteration of communication and social skills, learning, adaptive behavior, executive functions, and psychomotor skills. These deficits determine an impairment of personal, social, scholastic, or occupational functioning. Neurodevelopmental disorders are characterized by an increased incidence and a multifactorial etiology, including genetic and environmental components. Data largely explain the role of genetic and environmental factors, also through epigenetic modifications such as DNA methylation and miRNA. Despite genetic factors, nutritional factors also play a significant role in the pathophysiology of these disorders, both in the prenatal and postnatal period, underscoring that the control of modifiable factors could decrease the incidence of neurodevelopmental disorders. The preventive role of nutrition is widely studied as regards many chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer, but actually we also know the effects of nutrition on embryonic brain development and the influence of prenatal and preconceptional nutrition in predisposition to various pathologies. These factors are not limited only to a correct caloric intake and a good BMI, but rather to an adequate and balanced intake of macro and micronutrients, the type of diet, and other elements such as exposure to heavy metals. This review represents an analysis of the literature as regards the physiopathological mechanisms by which food influences our state of health, especially in the age of development (from birth to adolescence), through prenatal and preconceptional changes, underlying how controlling these nutritional factors should improve mothers’ nutritional state to significantly reduce the risk of neurodevelopmental disorders in offspring. We searched key words such as “maternal nutrition and neurodevelopmental disorders” on Pubmed and Google Scholar, selecting the main reviews and excluding individual cases. Therefore, nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics teach us the importance of personalized nutrition for good health. So future perspectives may include well-established reference values in order to determine the correct nutritional intake of mothers through food and integration.

In the context of complex nutrition issues, nutritional assessment software for people with gluten-related disorders can be a precious tool for professionals in the field. It could serve as a support for novice nutritionists. The purpose of this research is to develop software for the nutritional assessment of people with Gluten-related disorders (GRDs) in the Republic of Moldova, intended for nutrition students. The development of the Software followed the systemic approach of the Nutrition Care Process, which is a graphical visualization illustrating the internal and external steps and factors that influence the use of the process. The nutritional Software was developed based on the information system Embarcadero RAD Studio Alexandria Edition, having Microsoft SQL Server as a database. The developed Software offers a personalized and precise approach, taking into account the consumer's anamnesis, the results of clinical evaluations, and anthropometric parameters, but also specific biomarkers for GRDs and offering the possibility of data recording, scanning and archiving of the results obtained from the laboratories analysis sampling. The system includes functionality to monitor and evaluate client progress toward health goals, and nutrition users can effectively track progress and make appropriate adjustments.

The different ovine production and breeding systems share the cornerstone of keeping a good body condition to ensure adequate productivity. Several infectious and parasitic disorders have detrimental effects on weight gains and may lead to emaciation. Flock health management procedures are aimed to prevent such conditions. Nutritional management is equally important to guarantee adequate body condition. Persistent bouts of low ruminal pH due to excess concentrate in the diet may lead to subacute ruminal acidosis. Pre-stomach motility disorders may also lead to ill-thrift and emaciation. An adequate mineral supplementation is key to prevent the effects of copper, selenium, and other micronutrients deprivation, which may include, among others, loss of condition. This review elaborates on the clinico-pathologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects of some of these conditions, and highlights the necessity of considering them as contributors to states of wasting in sheep flocks.

Menstrual cycle disorders can often occur in teenagers and have the potential to affect their reproductive health. Several studies have indicated that adequate nutrition is linked to menstrual cycle disorders. The purpose of this study was to identify the profile of adolescent girls and analyze the relationship between their level of energy intake, macronutrients (protein, lipid, and carbohydrates), micro-nutrients (vitamin C, magnesium, and iron), and also nutritional status with menstrual cycle. The study was conducted from January to April 2022 at Lentera Harapan High School in Palopo City. An analytic survey research design with a cross-sectional approach was used, and the research sample consisted of 66 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was analyzed using chi-square test. The results showed that 57,6% of the subjects had menstrual cycle disorders with most of the respondents having normal nutritional status. The study also showed a high variety of energy, macro-nutrient, and micro-nutrient consumption. However, the average intake of energy, carbohydrates, vitamin C, magnesium, and iron did not meet daily requirements. Nutritional status was significantly related to menstrual cycle (p-value<0,05). Energy, protein, lipid, carbohydrates, and iron intake were also significantly correlated to menstrual cycle (p-value<0,05). There was no relationship between adequate intake of vitamin C and magnesium with menstrual cycle (p-value>0,05). It is recommended that adolescent girls receive education about balanced nutrition and related nutrients to help reduce complaints during menstruation and reduce menstrual cycle disorders.

Maintaining optimal nutritional status is important for children with cancer because it can affect clinical outcomes. This study aimed to prospectively study clinical practices in children's cancer departments to improve the nutritional health of children and adolescents receiving cancer treatment. Currently, there are no unified and harmonized protocols for assessing the nutritional status and nutritional support of children in pediatric wards in Kazakhstan. According to WHO research, most of the children admitted to hospitals already have significant nutritional status disorders, such as exhaustion and malnutrition, lipid metabolism disorders, hypovitaminosis and anemia. 200 children with cancer aged 6 months to 17 years (n=200) were recruited. Dietary data and other relevant anthropometric and biochemical data were collected using a data collection form validated and developed by the researchers. Data processing is still in progress. They were randomly allocated either to a treatment group or a control group (age-matched and gender matched). The treatment group received nutritional advice and support and the control group received the standard treatment. A significant decrease in the intake of protein and energy with the consumed diets, which are prescribed by doctors in daily practice, was revealed, which is a risk factor for the development of severe nutritional disorders (p>0.5). Patients who were assigned nutritional support in addition to the General diets during the study had higher nutrient intake. Comparing week zero with subsequent weeks of nutritional support, children in the main group showed significant improvements in the thickness of the triceps skin fold (P<0.001), the circumference of the middle shoulder (P<0.001), and the circumference of the arm muscles (P<0.001), showing that performing nutritional support is better for the evolution of nutrition (P<0.01). Proper use of nutritional support in children with cancer can prevent the development of nutritional deficiencies and associated risks. To improve nutrition management, attention should be paid to nutrition education and assessment tools for doctors and nurses.

We used pre- and post-tests to assess respondents’ knowledge and questionnaires to assess their perceptions of the project.Results: Twenty counseling teachers and forty students from 20 senior high schools in Yogyakarta participated in this project. Our project slightly improved students' knowledge of the importance of nutrition and mental health but not the teachers’ knowledge. All participants welcomed our project positively. Most participants agreed they learned new and important information and stated that the project helped combat nutritional problems and mental disorders.Conclusion: Our project was perceived positively and improved participants’ skills and knowledge of nutrition and mental health issues. This suggests that the project has empowered them to perform basic management of nutritional problems and mental disorders among teenagers at their schools. Additionally, more projects are still needed to widen and maximize the coverage of these important topics.

<p>Monitoring postural and nutritional status is very useful for sheding light on problems in the process of growth and development of children. The aim of this study was to determine the difference in postural status of younger-aged school children of urban and suburban environment according to their nutrition. Research sample included 497 male and female pupils from Novi Sad (251) and suburban environment (246), aged 11 and 12. Postural status was assessed using the method of somatoscopy and nutrition level with BMI calculator. The relation between the category of nutrition and the incidence of postural disorders was tested using a chi-square test at the significance level of p≤0.05. The results show a statisticaly significant difference in pupils in terms of sagittal spine plane, chest and feet according to their nutritional status. Lordotic bad posture (p=0.008), right lumbar scoliosis (p=0.007), high arch foot (p=0.043) and flat feet (p=0.007) were the most frequent postural disorders in the normal weight pupils. The incidence of kypholordotic posture (p=0.005) and flat-chest (p=0.002) was significantly higher among pupils from suburban environment. The incidence of kypholordotic posture (p=0.012) was significantly higher in over-nourished pupils from the suburban environment. Postural disorders and nutritional abnormalities significantly increase in children of the urban and suburban environment. Therefore, it is necessary to provide adequate conditions and include them in an organized physical exercise in order to prevent the occurrence of postural disorders and disorders of the nutritional status.</p>

In the absence of timely diagnosis and correction, nutritional disorders can have a negative impact on the severity and duration of the disease, reducing the effectiveness of pharmacological treatment and the quality of life of patients. Standard methods for assessing nutritional status, including body composition evaluation, should be part of the clinical monitoring program for rheumatic diseases in children, and prompt initiation of individual diet therapy or nutritional support will minimize the negative impact of these factors on the health of patients. A bibliographic survey was carried out between 2020 and 2022 using two databases: PubMed/MEDLINE and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and the information source Academic Google, irrespective of language or geography. Results. In the first nutrition consultation (FNC), there should be an investigative direction focused on nutritional interventions in the short, medium, and long term. The record in the patient’s medical record is relevant for carrying out the consultation, according to the recommendations of the normative councils of medicine and nutrition. The main steps to be followed are the investigation of the presence of food allergies and intolerances; the drugs/nutritional supplements in use; changes in the digestive tract; the presence or absence of picamalacia; and socioeconomic and lifestyle data. In addition, it is necessary to carry out laboratory evaluations, semiological assessment, anthropometric assessment, and assessment of food consumption. In the end, the nutritional approach should be composed of calculation of energy and macronutrient and micronutrient needs, intervention in nutritional status deviations, nutritional guidelines, and nutritional therapeutic planning of return, focusing on adherence to treatment. Conclusion. The first nutrition consultation may represent investigative steps that help the clinical nutritionist in the management, allowing a longitudinal and specific nutritional therapeutic planning for patients assisted in large reference centers for hematological disease.

Kurangnya kepedulian terhadap gizi anak serta terbatasnya pengetahuan mengenai berbagai penyakit akibat gangguan gizi membuat orang tua kesulitan untuk mendiagnosis penyakit yang akan menyerang anak mereka. Maka dalam penelitian ini dibuatkan sebuah alat bantu berupa sistem pakar berbasis android untuk mendiagnosis penyakit akibat gangguan gizi menggunakan metode Dempster Shafer beserta cara penanganannya, menentukan status gizi berdasarkan berat badan menurut usia (BB/U), serta mengetahui berat badan ideal anak dan saran asupan makanannya. Sistem ini bekerja dengan melakukan perhitungan berdasarkan gejala-gejala penyakit yang dirasakan. Hasil pengujian menunjukan perbandingan antara hasil diagnosis yang dilakukan oleh pakar dan sistem, menghasilkan keluaran yang sama sehingga aplikasi ini dapat digunakan untuk mendiagnosis gangguan gizi serta mendapatkan informasi seputar gizi anak.

 ABSTRACT
 Nutrition is a determining factor in the quality of human resources in the future, besides that good nutritional status and balanced healthy food intake have an important role in determining one's health and intelligence. The age of preschool children is more at risk of experiencing nutritional disorders such as malnutrition and more nutrition can consequently cause disease. Lack of concern for children's nutrition and limited knowledge about various diseases due to nutritional disorders makes it difficult for parents to diagnose diseases that will attack their children. So in this study a tool was made in the form of an android-based expert system to diagnose diseases due to nutritional disorders using the Dempster Shafer method and how to handle it, determine nutritional status based on body weight according to age (BB/U), and find out the child's ideal body weight and intake advice the food. This system works by calculating based on the symptoms of the disease that is felt.
