Abstract:
Objects of the study were sulfate-reducing bacteria Desulfovibrio desulfuricans ІМV К-6, isolated from Yavorivske lakе. This strain is kept in the collection of microorganisms at the Department of Microbiology of Ivan Franko National University. Bacteria were grown in the Kravtsov-Sorokin’s liquid medium with the following composition (g/l): Na2SO4 × 10H2O – 0.5, NaH2PO4 – 0.3, K2HPO4 – 0.5, (NH4)2SO4 – 0.2, MgSO4 × 7H2O – 0.1, C3H5O3Na – 2.0. The bacteria were grown for 10 days at 30 °C under anaerobic conditions. In order to study the sensitivity of the sulfate reducing bacteria to action of Uragan and Raundup herbicides, the cells of D. desulfuricans ІМV К-6 were grown at the concentrations of herbicides as follows: 0,28 mМ, 2,8 mМ (concentration recommended for use) and 5,6 mM. Biomass was determined by photometric method. Concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the culture medium was determined by photo-colorimetric method. Concentration of sulfate-ions in the medium was determined by turbidimetric method. Capacity of sulfate reducing bacteria D. desulfuricans ІМV K-6 to grow, reducing sulfates to hydrogen sulfide upon influence of Uragan and Raundup herbicides was studied. Accumulation of bacterial biomass in the control and upon influence of herbicides was the highest on the fourth-sixth day of cultivation, and after that the stationary growth phase began. It was shown that sulfate reducing bacteria upon influence of herbicides grew more intensively compared with the control. It was discovered that the level of biomass changed depending on the increasing concentration of Uragan or Raundup herbicides in the medium. Sulfate reducing bacteria D. desulfuricans ІМV K-6 could reduce sulfates to hydrogen sulfide in the presence of sulfates and organic compounds in the medium (dissimilatory sulfate reduction). Stimulatory influence of Uragan and Raundup on the dissimilatory sulfate reduction process of D. desulfuricans ІМВ К-6 has been discovered. The formation of hydrogen sulfide correlates with the usage of sulfatе ions. The capacity of sulfate reducing bacteria D. desulfuricans ІМV K-6 to grow, reducing sulfate ions to hydrogen sulfide upon influence of Uragan and Raundup may be caused by presence of inert components (sulfates) in these herbicides that can be used by microorganisms as electron acceptors during sulfate respiration.

Abstract:
Abstract A new antenna of ‘crankshaft’ type has been installed in the Uragan-2M device in order to increase the plasma density and heating below the ion cyclotron frequency. Antenna operation is modelled by 1D code, which solves boundary problem for time-harmonic Maxwell’s equations in radially non-uniform plasma cylinder. In recent experiments with this antenna, the SXR, CV, OV and OII emission measurements indicate that the light impurity radiation barrier is overcame at this device. Plasma with a temperature of ~50 eV exists during a short period of a few milliseconds. Then the radiation collapse comes owing to strong influx of impurities to the plasma column. A new magnetic diagnostics has been installed at Uragan-3M. Using it the poloidal magnetic field is measured and the shift of toroidal current in major radius is registered. A miniature pinhole camera array for spatially and temporally resolved measurements of soft X-ray (SXR) plasma emission has been recently installed on the U-3M. Different shapes of the SXR emission profile has been observed in different discharge conditions.

Abstract:
Pakistan is an agrarian based developing country, and like many other developing countries, its agriculture sector is subjected to domestic forces of demand and supply and changes in prices at international level, as well. More specifically, in the late 1990s, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) emerged as one the major players affecting such market changes more vigorously at international arena. The WTO’s Agreement on Agriculture, which was established as a result of the 1986-94 Uraguay Round talks, requires, for both developed and developing countries, to initiate a process of reforms in their agrarian economies with the objective of establishing a fair and market oriented agricultural trading system through multilateral trade negotiations. This Agreement on Agriculture (AoA) specifically asks for major reductions in export subsidies, domestic support and import barriers on agricultural products to achieve this objective, the WTO’s Agreement of Agriculture [WTO (2001)] had set the following quantitative targets for cuts in each of the three specified area, namely import tariffs, domestic supports and export subsidies.

Abstract:
Muon diagnostics is a technique for remote monitoring of active processes in the heliosphere and the magnetosphere of the Earth based on the analysis of angular variations of muon flux simultaneously detected from all directions of the upper hemisphere. To carry out muon diagnostics, special detectors – muon hodoscopes – which can detect muons from any direction with good angular resolution in real-time mode are required. We discuss approaches to data analysis and the results of studies of various extra-terrestrial processes detected by means of the wide aperture URAGAN muon hodoscope.

Abstract:
AbstractThe plasma energy content in the Uragan-3M torsatron was determined by means of diamagnetic measurements under the conditions of its radiofrequency (RF) generation and heating (at near ion-cyclotron frequencies) in the presence of bootstrap current. The balance of power under the fast heating of plasma was considered and used as a basis to estimate the radiofrequency power absorbed by the plasma in the confinement volume. The behavior of energy losses in the discharge period was calculated, and the effect of magnetic field fluctuations on the energy losses within a frequency range of 0.5–70 kHz was discussed.

Abstract:
Several field studies in the Qinghai Nanshan area (Qinghai Province, China) have added new findings to the scant knowledge about Przewalski´s Rosefinch Urocynchramus pylzowi Przewalski, 1876. The hitherto completely unknown vocalisations are described and used to clarify systematic relationships. Although one could argue for a relationship to Uragus sibiricus (Pallas), based on nearly identical auditory impression and sonagram structures of their songs, detailed measurements show significant differences in time and frequency parameters. Moreover a mtDNA analysis shows no close phylogenetic relationship to either of three major emberizid clades. These results support the hypothesis that Urocynchramus belongs in its own family, the Urocynchramidae.

Abstract:
An ichthyofaunal list of bycatch species was compiled, the fish captured by bottom gill-nets set at approximately 300 m depth in the Uraga Suido Channel central Japan. Fragmentary ichthyofaunal lists are available for this area; these lists have focused on chondrichthyans or commercial actinopterygians, but voucher specimens have not been prepared for museum storage. An initial list of the fish fauna was compiled with vouchers, and seven species not previously recorded from the channel are reported. Most of these species belong to the Class Actinopterygii; Apristurus platyrhynchus (Tanaka, 1909), Beryx decadactylus Cuvier, 1829, Hoplostethus japonicus Hilgendorf, 1879, Sebastes iracundus (Jordan & Starks, 1904), Scalicus amiscus (Jordan & Starks, 1904), Atrobucca nibe (Jordan & Thompson, 1911), and an unidentified species of the eelpout family Zoarcidae. The taxonomic identity of the eelpout and the biogeography of the Uraga Suido Channel are considered. Further research is required to resolve outstanding faunistic issues, but live collections will likely end when the aging fishers who provide the specimens retire. At that point, existing museum collections will become increasingly important for future research. Examination of a collection that may have been previously deposited in the Chiba Prefectural Museum will be essential.

Abstract:
Problems of digital processing of Poisson-distributed data time series from various counters of radiation particles, photons, slow neutrons etc. are relevant for experimental physics and measuring technology. A low-pass filtering method for normalized Poisson-distributed data time series is proposed. A digital quasi-Gaussian filter is designed, with a finite impulse response and non-negative weights. The quasi-Gaussian filter synthesis is implemented using the technology of stochastic global minimization and modification of the annealing simulation algorithm. The results of testing the filtering method and the quasi-Gaussian filter on model and experimental normalized Poisson data from the URAGAN muon hodoscope, that have confirmed their effectiveness, are presented.
