Abstract:
Ocular surface disease (OSD) and glaucoma are common comorbidities in the same patient. Thus, the long-term instillation of topical intraocular pressure lowering drops induces changes in the ocular surface. For this, we have realized a cross-sectional study of 52 patients, collected at the ophthalmology department of the Hassan II University Hospital Center at Fez, Morocco. We have included all patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertonia on hypotonizing treatment for at least 06 months. They have answered the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) after their consent. All patients have been then

Abstract:
Urrets-Zavalia syndrome is a dreaded complication of anterior segment surgery and the most common in patients undergoing corneal transplantation. Avoiding the prescription of mydriatic eye drops during the postoperative period is the mainstay of its therapy, which focuses on prevention. One month after having keratoplasty in the left eye, a 42-year-old man presented with Urrets-Zavalia syndrome and ocular hypertonia at 35 mmgh. Medical and surgical management were required in this situation.
The purpose of our presentation is to describe a real-world instance of Urrets-Zavalia syndrome.

Introduction: Glaucoma is the third cause of blindness in developed countries after age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of ocular surface disease in patients treated for glaucoma or ocular hypertonia. Patients and methods: We conducted a one-year observational study including glaucoma patients older than 15 years, diagnosed and treated for more than six months. The impact of anti-glaucoma treatment on the ocular surface was assessed by a questionnaire derived from the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI). Results

Background The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of episcleral single-injection anesthesia in a large number of patients. Methods Over a period of 5 yr, in four institutions, anesthesiologists involved in this prospective study completed a standardized form to evaluate single-injection medial canthus high-volume episcleral anesthesia. The success rate of the block was rated according to an akinesia score. The study parameters included demographic data, surgical procedure, and anesthetic management. All patients were followed up at least until postoperative day 1, an

Abstract Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia 29 (SCA29) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder resulting in infantile-onset hypertonia, gross motor delay and cognitive impairment. SCA29 causes cerebellar dysfunction and atrophy manifested by poor hand coordination, instability of gait, impaired articulation, poor hand-eye coordination, language delay, and a wide legged, unsteady walk. Slow improvement across childhood is common, but the limited available research suggests significant clinical heterogeneity among individuals diagnosed with SCA29. Abstract Objective: Gould syndrome (COL4A1/A2-related disorders) is an extremely rare, genetic disorder characterized by cerebral vasculature defects, ocular dysgenesis, myopathy, and cerebral cortical abnormalities. Many individuals with COL4A1 mutations exhibit seizures, stroke, visual field defects, and hydrocephalus. To date, research regarding neuropsychological sequelae of Gould syndrome has been sparse. Therefore, this presentation aims to present clinical considerations for pediatric patients with Gould syndrome. Method: Patient is a 5-year-old Hispanic boy born at 35-weeks following p

AbstractBackgroundSerotonin syndrome is a potentially life-threatening condition associated with increased serotonergic activity in the central nervous system. Serotonin syndrome is underreported complication of pharmacotherapy. The Hunter Criteria for serotonin syndrome (SS) are fulfilled if the patient has taken a serotonergic agent and has one of the following symptoms: 1) spontaneous clonus, 2) inducible clonus and agitation or diaphoresis, 3) ocular clonus and agitation or diaphoresis, 4) tremor and hyperreflexia, 5) hypertonia, or 6) temperature above 38 C and ocular clonus or inducible
