Abstract:

Autorka artykułu opisuje przykłady infraz, których zadaniem jest wzbudzenie emocji wywołanych lekturą tekstu literackiego i odzwierciedlenie ich w dziele artystycznym, w tym wypadku w dziełach trzech czeskich artystów fotografików. Punktem wyjścia do analizy trzech wybranych fotografii jest w pierwszej kolejności postać Ofelii z tragedii Williama Szekspira Hamlet i opis jej tragicznej śmierci, następnie odniesienie tego fragmentu tekstu do obrazu prerafaelity Johna Everetta Millais’a pt. Ofelia. Dalsza analiza skupia się wokół fotografii Martina Faltejska (cykl Weightless), Jana Fauknera (cykl Nemesis) i Barbory Bálkovej (cykl Literary Suicides). Opis fotografii przedstawiających Ofelię dotyczy m.in. ich symboliki (archetypów kobiecości, wody, natury), podkreśla podobieństwa i różnice między trzema nośnikami znaczeń (literatura, malarstwo, fotografia). Artykuł porusza kwestię m.in. doświadczenia wizualnego i zamysłu nad tym, czy pojedyncze opisywane fotografie uwolniły się od Szekspirowskiego kontekstu i wpisały w kontekst plastyczny, czy artyści zaproponowali własne, nowe odczytanie owego “mitu Ofelii”.

Abstract:

RESUMEN En junio de 1963, la feminista colombiana Ofelia Uribe de Acosta publicó el libro Una Voz Insurgente, en el que dio testimonio de la realidad social de Colombia y especialmente de las mujeres, en el periodo comprendido entre los años 1930 y 1963, en particular, en el capítulo dieciocho, la autora expuso sus ideas sobre la educación colombiana y manifestó que esta no había avanzado desde el siglo XIX debido al manejo que la élite gobernante le daba al país. El espíritu rebelde de Ofelia Uribe quedó condensado a lo largo del libro frente al paterfamilias que, según ella, perdió la calidad moral de rector de la sociedad y no respondía a los cambios sociales, económicos y políticos que se generaban en todo el territorio nacional.El artículo se desarrolla a través de fuentes primarias, se centra, en la descripción de la vida de Ofelia Uribe de Acosta, su pensamiento crítico frente a la educación colombiana, a luz de los acontecimientos del momento, y, una reflexión final que recoge fallas de la educación, abordadas por Ofelia Uribe de Acosta, y que, se relacionan con la educación del siglo XXI. Abstract:

El personaje de Ofelia ha inspirado múltiples representaciones artísticas y críticas feministas. Mi objetivo es contribuir al interés suscitado por Ofelia mostrándola como una heroína que dibuja un mundo como una prisión a la que, con su muerte, se enfrenta más drásticamente que Hamlet. En la introducción, analizaré la evolución del personaje en la obra de Shakespeare usando la edición de Aguilar. En la segunda parte, presentaré una lectura feminista de Ofelia. Como conclusión, frente a las lecturas feministas que la sitúan en un relato ficticio o las que la retratan solo como una víctima del patriarcado, la mostraré como una heroína desacoplada que nos habla de nuestra condición humana.

Abstract:

Using interruptions as a specific formal structure, this article explores the varying characterisation of Ophelia/Ofelia in Hamlet. The textual differences apparent in the ‘Nunnery’ scene present an Ophelia in Q2 that is interrupted by Hamlet and possesses little power, whereas her Q1 counterpart actively engages the prince and repeatedly interrupts him. These differences highlight not only a change in characterisation but also a reconceptualisation of the status of the two texts: Q2 presents a directed and writerly dramatic text, while Q1 offers an open and performative theatrical one. By considering the repeated interruptions not as corruptions in the text but as open and artful choices, Q1’s Ofelia becomes a more equal and interesting character who asserts agency and defies Hamlet’s misogynistic invective.

Ophelia of Pirandello: reflections around female madnessAbstractThe article is devoted to an analysis of Luigi Pirandello’s drama As You Desire Me which drawsinspiration from an actual event connected with questions on the identity of a person sufferingfrom amnesia. Unlike the real incident, the main character of Pirandello’s is a woman knownonly by her alias Stranger, as the main theme of the drama is establishing her true identity. Thepresent article aims at proving that Pirandello’s drama is not a criminal mystery, but rathera deep reflection on the notion of human personality which in the case of a woman receivesnew, interesting meanings. One of them is spotting the correspondence between Pirandelli’sStranger and Shakespeare’s Ophelia, as madness of both characters appears to have similarroots: female’s insanity seen through the prism of both dramas appears as defiance againstthe culture of patriarchy, but also stems from the conviction of one’s own emptiness andundefinedness. In this context, referring to studies on feminist criticism (E. Shawalter,K. Kłosińska, K. Woźniak), including studies on female hysteria is of relevance. Even thoughthe structure of drama appears to lead to a finale in which the truth about the character isuncovered, Pirandello does not reveal her true identity. Ofelia Uribe de Acosta, nacida en Oiba, Santander, el 22 de diciembre de 1990, fue una de las pioneras que en el siglo XX contribuyeron, de manera decisiva, a construir la subjetividad de las mujeres en objeto de debate público. Para apreciar en sus reales dimensiones su contribución a la causa de las mujeres, recordemos que en esos tiempos nuestras connacionales todavía estaban relegadas a la minoría de edad porque no se les reconocía la facultad de discernimiento y raciocinio propio de todo ser consciente: no tenían derecho a poseer bienes ni a realizar contratos, estaban bajo la tutela del padre o del marido, no tenían derecho al voto y enfrentaban obstáculos culturales para acceder a la educación superior. Fue Ofelia Uribe una de las primeras personas QUE EVIDENCIÓ, DESDE UNA visión feminista, la conexión entre la vida individual, las relaciones del poder al interior de la familia y la pareja y el ejercicio del poder social, anticipando la reflexión actual sobra la relación entre los ámbitos público y privado.

Morphological characters support the hypothesis that the genus belongs in the tribe Boarmiini, but no close relatives are evident due to its distinctive morphology. Abstract:

This article attempts to show the influence of Shakespeare’s Hamlet characters on Norwid’s character creation in his work Aktor. The protagonist Jerzy is analysed in terms of commonelements with Hamlet as well as the similarities of Eliza and Hrabina to Ofelia are presented. Starting from the interpretation of the individuals created by the polish author, the conclusions concerning the purpose of Norwid’s references to Shakespeare’s characters, are formulated.

Abstract:

The paper addresses the analysis of aesthetics in Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth, a 2006 film in which the fantastic genre predominates. Various aspects are studied: The structure of the plot and composition of the story, which revolve around the presence of two fictional levels: one related to the events of the characters in the mimesis context of the historical and a second fictional level related to the fantastic, producing an understanding of the metaphysical reality of the film. Semiotics of the work in relation to the fantastic regarding the link between Ofelia and the pan. Semiosis of the internal pragmatics of the work in relation to the viewer and the PECMA flow. The acting role of the character Ofelia and her wisdom within the different options presented by the plot. The cultural construction and the attitudinal around gender, are analyzed in relation to their significance. The contribution made by this analysis is an approach to the perceptual process within the film and its relationship with the fantastic. The intervention of the fantastic causes the rupture of the real mimesis, where fantasy allows transgressing the limits of the understanding of the real and generates a character with unusual metaphysical projections.

Abstract:

El presente artículo reúne algunos apuntes filosóficos sobre la obra pictórica de la artista chilena Ofelia Andrades. A partir de sus composiciones visuales y alegorías pictóricas, se discuten brevemente las nociones de esfera, individualidad y otredad. El artículo se propone desarrollar una interpretación abierta de las formas de representación del yo –y del “otro social”– en la sociedad contemporánea. Al hacerlo, se enfoca en describir cómo la cotidianeidad y los espacios humanos configuran individualidades en permanente autorreflexión.

In questo lavoro gli autori partendo dal personaggio di Ofelia della tragedia Amleto di Shakespeare trattano il tema del suicidio. Partiranno da una revisione della letteratura Psicoanalitica su questo tema, evidenziando sinteti- camente le differenti posizioni dei maggiori esponenti. In seguito riporteranno il pensiero dell'esperto in adolescenza e suicidi nell'adolescenza dello psicoanalista svizzero Ladame e il pensiero sul trattamento dei borderline a rischio suicidio di Kernberg e Mucci. In conclusione verranno dati degli accenni sulla terapia indi- viduale e dell'importanza del transfert e controtransfert nel trattamento di que- sti pazienti difficili. Infine le osservazioni di Ondarza Linares sulla psicoterapia gruppoanalitica nel trattamento di pazienti con tentativi di suicidio e a rischio di suicidio.

Abstract:

Tohono O’odham (formerly Papago), a Native American language spoken in southern Arizona and northern Mexico, has been frequently reported as endangered. The article aims to present efforts to revitalize and stabilize the language (and its culture), particularly the activities of Ofelia Zepeda, who is a member of the Tohono O’odham Indian Nation. Zepeda is a professor of linguistics at the University of Arizona in Tucson and has been contributing to the revival of her mother tongue, primarily as a linguist, language educator and activist. She is also known for her creative writing and incorporates Tohono O’odham into her poems.

Abstract:

The article discusses the stages an actor should go through in order to acquire his character’s specific way of thinking. After a brief theoretical presentation of these stages, the applied part focuses on the steps undertaken by the author in building-up and assuming the character of Ofelia from „Gertrude”, directed by Silviu Purcărete, who decided to have an-all men show. Impersonating a female character for the first time was a more complicated task than expected, but assuming each stage and the overall vision proposed by Silviu Purcărete and Dragoș Buhagiar, the scenographer, has led to assuming the character all-in-all.

Abstract:

El ensayo examina tres de las novelas más importantes de la escritora cubana Ofelia Rodríguez Acosta (1902-1975) El triunfo de la débil presa (1925), La vida manda (1928), y Sonata interrumpida (1940). El análisis parte de la tesis de que estas obras son un reto a la imagen de la naciente nación cubana que desde los primeros momentos se basó en la idea de la familia heterosexual como la unidad social y económica central de la sociedad. Su reto abrió las puertas en Cuba desde la literatura para formular un ideal de la nación cubana que incluyese una pluralidad de género. Dado que el camino hacia ese ideal ha sido lento, tortuoso, e incompleto aun, el examen de la obra de esta autora pionera, silenciada en la Cuba revolucionaria hasta muy recientemente, tiene importancia crucial para reivindicar un pasado que puede dar más raíces a un futuro inclusivo.
