Robotics is an emerging field, and it is also affecting several other fields. Design of robotic platforms gains more importance since the focus and aim of the robotics research broadens widely and the variety of the users is significant. This work aims to present the design of a modular mobile robotic platform, which should be simple, easy to build and easy to use. The concept of modularity, usage of off-the shelf components and utilizing a PC platform, are addressed in this work. It was believed that the heavy discharge from the Niger River Delta would have a strong influence on the near-shore circulation patterns and was the reason for this unexpected drift. Abstract:
This Master thesis project consists of the exploration and potentially the design and implementation of an Front-End Equipment (FEE) device based on the Beaglebone Black or similar single-board computers. During development and testing of a satellite system, FEE serves to adapt telemetry and telecommand data streams between a satellite and the ground- control system. At OHB Sweden there exist FEE solutions based on old Rabbit processor modules. The two main functions of an FEE device are to forward telemetry data from a satellite to the ground control, and forward telemetry commands from the g

Abstract:

Robots are widely used in domestic and commercial applications. These applications typically involve robots built for a specific the task, thus leading to efficiency in task completion. However, with the increase in completion efficiency comes an increase in the time required for completion of the whole system. Specific tasks create the need for many different robots, all with differing capabilities, causing an increase in development cost and time needed.
This raises the issue of whether using an off the shelf system with minor modifications can accurately perform the same tasks.

Van, Zyl Frederik Wilhelm. "Geological mapping of the inner shelf off Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard, South Africa." Master's thesis, University of Cape Town, 2018. http://hdl.handle.net/11427/29676.

Abstract:
The Atlantic Seaboard is an 18 km stretch of coastline located on the Cape Peninsula, South Africa, roughly between the Cape Town suburbs of Mouille Point in the north and Hout Bay in the south. It borders heavy shipping traffic and contains a mix of urban and natural environments including up-market seaside neighbourhoods and is part of the Table Mountain National Park. The predominantly rocky coastline has a northeast–southwest orientation with interspersed sandy pocket beaches. A narrow, low-lying coastal plain (marine terrace) in the north merges with coastal cliffs further south. The geom

Abstract:
There is an acute clinical need for small-calibre (<6 mm) vascular grafts for surgery, but unlike their large counterparts they still fail in long-term clinical application. The failures of small diameter grafts are primarily due to the early formation of thrombosis and intimal hyperplasia. Dynamics of blood flow leading to wall shear rate and blood flow pattern and their effect on the endothelial cell proliferation along with other anomalies, have been identified as one of the major deciding factors for the efficiency of grafts. Research has showed that intimal hyperplasia and associated comp

International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 26-29, 1998 / Town & Country Resort Hotel and Convention Center, San Diego, California
Three-channel monopulse tracking receiver systems are commonly used for high performance tracking of satellites, missiles, or aircraft to maximize the reception of data. Typically, the receiver in such systems are custom designed for their end purpose. This results in a high cost to cover the development, service, and support of a highly specialized piece of equipment. This paper covers the requirements and performance of a 3-channel monopul
